  1. Yes indeed it seems like it will take time, at least I am not having nausea anymore, which I had had for months and months and am not throwing up anymore of course, which I'm very happy about! What I'm having a hard time with is baking hehe I'm still not used to baking with these different flours and my breads come out hard like rock hehe but I"ll get a...
  2. Well, I finally got my Enterolab results, I'm sure you all know the story, no doctor listens, put on antacids, etc etc. So after almost a year of stomach issues they are all gone in 2 weeks! Here is what I got: Gluten Sensitivity Stool Test Fecal Antigliadin IgA 105 (Normal Range <10) Interpretation of Fecal Antigliadin IgA: Intestinal antigliadin...
  3. First of all, very bad choice to stay on gluten. The amount of gluten you eat does not make a difference, gluten is gluten and it is a poison for those who are sensitive to it, so you have been poisoning yourself for years, I assume it is full blown celiac by now considering you have reumathoid arthritis which is linked to celiac. Second of all, I do not...
  4. Try eating foods separately, have a sandwich with no milk or have milk with no gluten, etc. It could be possible to react to both.

It definitely takes time to eliminate all the gluten products and finding replacement! but it can be done. I understand completely why you would want your kids to go gluten free. The eczema practically gives it away, ADD is very common in celiac children, so is failure to thrive and growth problems, tell me about it, I
  7. Welcome! Where to start, I think chocolatelover gave you a lot of info you need to know. I started the same way you did, for about a year I
  8. Most mornings I wonder the same, and I understand your concern as I am diabetic with lots of hypoglycemia and need plenty of protein and balanced meals through the day. I have seen flour mixes at the store (and I have one at home) to make gluten-free pancakes, I am not sure these are lactose/caseine free but you can always look at ingredients and substitute...
  9. Yes I've heard of people feeling worse at first, especially in the first two weeks. I have been gluten free for a week and feel a bit better, at least not nauseous or tired anymore. A lot of people think that because they drink diet coke its ok for them to drink it, the difference between both is that one has sugar and the other doesn't, both have gas...
  10. cdfiance - I read your post where you say you buy her gingerale to sip on, I used to think ginger ale had ginger in it, the name says it after all, but it turns out it does not contain ginger, it might help to keep her hydrated but won't make her nausea go away. What you can do though is buy fresh ginger at the store [it is in the vegetables and fruits area...
  11. I found this link on the Celiac Disease Foundation [CDF] website, I'm sure most of you already heard of it, but for those who haven't, it's a search engine where, whenever you do a search, a few cents are donated to the Foundation, I think this is great and am using this search engine from now on, all you have to do is choose who the profits go to and search...
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if arthritis is in fact linked to celiac. I had arthritis as a child, I am not sure if it was reumathoid [is that the one that leaves 'scars'?] I know my joints and bones ached a lot when I was a kid, they still do but I really haven't been able to have that checked for the past 6 -7 years. I still haven't been diagnosed with celiac...
  13. I know what you're talking about ravenwoodglass, they put me on Metformin and it helps lower blood sugar a little but not as it should and it gives me a lot of low blood sugar. nini- Most doctors don't want to recognize celiac but if it's on your medical charts I don't see why they would do that to you, I understand what it's like to not have insurance...
  14. Carla, when I went gluten free I tried drinking milk and it didn't make me sick, so I'm thinking that going gluten free does cure leactose intolerance, it could be simply because celiac causes it.
  15. I guess I definitely need to find a new doctor, I have to wait until we get our insurance, otherwise I am sure I won´t get good treatment. The only reason I want to have a real diagnosis is because I have a lot of other complications and I´d like to know if I indeed have Celiac because it could be the answer we´ve been looking for, and I know with a definite di...
  16. After I eat something containing gluten I get such bad brain fog and my memory on an everyday basis is so horrible! sometimes I think I may have alzeimer! ;D but I do notice it is worse after eating gluten, I usually become very passive, staring a lot while nothing is really going through my mind, and if something is on my mind its very slow thinking. I also...

    ARCHIVED Nausea?

It varies from person to person and depends also on the damage done to the intestines, I'd say in a few days you will feel much better, it took me about 5 days to get my appetite back, but the nausea was gone by the 3rd day.

    ARCHIVED Nausea?

It depends on the damage, could be days, weeks or even up to months for the symptoms to go away, just be careful you're not eating anything that might be crosscontaminated.
  19. The worse thing is that they do not want to test me to see wether I'm type 2 or type 1 diabetic, when I am very convinced that I am type 1 [i have certain antibody tests that have come up positive when i was younger which indicates my immunity to have autoimmune diseases] ... I have also read that celiac may interfere with blood sugars and make you have low...
  20. I've been sick for about 8 months now, for 7 of those 8 months I had horrible nausea, stomach pains, eventually I couldn't finish a small meal. At month 5 I was diagnosed with Diabetes, the symptoms got way worse after I had the flu this year, I started having yellow loose stools, I started to vomit more often [when ingesting wheat and milk] I went to see...
  21. I've had photophobia since I was a kid [i'm now 21] and I do think they may be related in some way but I sure dont know how. I have heard that celiac can cause edemas and I have a corneal edema that usually causes these bouts of photofobia for which I used to also have to stay in a dark room sometimes for days. I'm not certain I have celiac disease but I...
