  1. Yellow Rose, So you were able to make the rolls with a mask? I dont mind the clean up, I use paper towel or throw the sponge away after I am done. I think it was the flour flying around that got me. I only want to make the 2 or 3 times a year, it is a tradition in our family. I will try the mask at Christmas, if I get glutened again, I will give...
  2. I would think so, generally they have vodka, peach schnapps and orange juice. All of these items I believe are gluten free.
  3. Even though I am still very sensitive to gluten, I still react to very small amounts - often unknown in origin, my reaction don
  4. I dont react to it either.
  5. I did, and it was my fault. I have been gluten free a little over 1 year. Every year I bake dinner rolls for the holidays (the yummy gluten kind) My family loves them and I enjoy working with gluten dough. I have gotten very sensitive to gulten now, I dont know why, but the longer I go gluten free the easier it effects me. This year I wore latex gloves...
  6. You can make great Gluten free cheese cakes. I just dont put on the crust, use a regular recipie and substitute the small amount of flour with gluten free mix. Bake... really good.
  7. When baking you need a mixture of flours. Like rice flour, tapioca flour and potato starch. There are a lot of reciepies out there, try a few. I like my bread made with Gabanzo bean flour, tapicoca and brown rice flour.
  8. I love my bread machine. I like making bread (gluten kind) but did not enjoy making gluten free bread by hand. Very different. I just but in my premixed flours (i do my own) wet ingrediants and it does it all. I made bread by hand for a few months, but it didnt turn out all that well. I would get one.
  9. I had the Enterolab test done also. I was in the normal range also, even though they told me my Fecal Fat score was 435. I had the gene test and they told me I had 2 gluten intolerant genes. HA-DQ 3,1 (subtype 9,5) they told me I had no active gluten sensitivity. I had been gluten free about 5 months and gluten light for years. I have been gluten...
  10. I agree with the others, you need to be gluten free. When I break out due to accidental gluten consumption I use the Benadryl spray. It helps a little bit, but not for long. I just wait and try to be more careful.
  11. Tara, Welcome to the forum. You will get a lot of good advice and sympathy here. I know it is rough in the beginning. How old is Trenton? I cant even imagine how difficult this would be with a young child, but it will get easier. Planning is something very helpful with meal planning. But it doesnt have to be hard. Fresh fruits and veggies...

  14. I have tried to eat blue cheese on several occasions - it was my favorite. I have gotten a reaction both times. No more for me. Peggy
  15. Have you tried a bread machine. My bread started coming out much better with a bread machine. I love baking regular bread, but leave gluten-free to my machine.
  16. Have you tried a bread machine. My bread started coming out much better with a bread machine. I love baking regular bread, but leave gluten-free to my machine.
  17. I am pretty sure I have dermatitis herpetiformis, and I consistantly get out breaks after I have accidently consumed gluten. I am 50 and getting ready to retire soon. We will have to get our own health insurance, so I dont think getting diagnosed would help. I will just stick to a gluten-free diet.
  18. I eat a lot of corn tortillias. Melt cheese put a slice of ham...quick breakfast. Just read the labels, you will find plenty you can buy. Tortilla chips and popcorn are great snacks. Costco has started carrying gluten free tomato basil soup and thai noodles in bulk. Both are great. I cook fresh veggies with my noodles. I I am going out and dont have...
  19. I would really appreciate the list also. Thanks in advance. Peggy peggyvesper@sbcglobal.net
  20. I also had cravings after going gluten-free. I suddenly couldnt get enough of chocolate. I figured I couldnt eat so many things, that the things I could I wanted! My cravings have subsided and I have been gluten-free about 8 months.
  21. I found this bread recipe below on line. Maybe even from this site. I use it in a bread machine. I love baking regular bread by hand, but gluten-free bread really isnt fun to make. I use butter, eggs and milk when I bake too. Everyones taste is different but I like it for bread. I have done it with and without the gelatin. I havent found a lot of cookies...
  22. I recently got cc and broke out in DH. I was traveling for work and even though I tried, it got cc. I have never broken out so bad, I had outbreaks on my hand, arms, legs, back and stomahe. My co-worker noticed and asked me what it was. She is aware I cant eat gluten and why. When I told her I had accidently consumed gluten on my trip, she made the remark...
