PeggyV replied to munchkinette's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I find I am drinking less wine. I don't feel I have to have a glass after a stressfull day at work. Dont get me wrong, I was never an alcholic, but I would have a couple of glasses everyday after work. I also eat more fruits and vegtables and I have a lot of new hair growth. -

PeggyV replied to cmobley's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You can be gluten intolerant without the having Celiac. It can cause many of those symptoms... except the blood, I would get that checked out. -
Same for me I lost about 6 lbs the first 2 weeks, I figured it was from all the bloating. I know I am eating more calories, or at least the same. I havent gained it back.

Does anyone know if there is something that a resturant might use in a chopped up fruit cup that might have glutenned me? Its been a while I forgot how bad it feels and my stomach has bloated up again, pain in side and lower back and a head ache.... ARCHIVED So What Do You Tell People?
PeggyV replied to chocolatelover's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree with Nancy, to me it is easier and safer when I am out to say Celiacs. Also at work function and I need something the what has been provided I use it. Otherwise people think I am just on a "fad diet" and I am picky. -
ARCHIVED Rant, Friend Problems..
PeggyV replied to num1habsfan's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Lisa, I also agree with the advise, I think she is trying to make up. Lifes to short to waste it being mad at someone you care about. Young women unfortunatly do tend to get very selfish, especially when they meet someone new..... Forgive her. The good news is that the drama can definiatly decrease with age. After living in constant "drama" for... -

ARCHIVED Cool Vending Machine Story
PeggyV replied to miles2go's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes, I went to a resturant on a work function. They had the side room and a bit buffet set up....usually buffets mean I cant eat. I saw a chef in the corner and he knew all about celiacs! Walked me through the buffet line, showed me what I could eat and not eat and went back to the kitchen to personally prepare some scallops for me, so I could try them... -
ARCHIVED Please Somebody Help Me Make A Decision!
PeggyV replied to chatycady's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
As much as I would like to know, I wouldnt go back on gluten to find out. I understand, but if you plan to stay gluten free forever why put yourself (and your husband) through it? Just my opinion....others might have a good reason why you should. -
ARCHIVED Going To Italy For Daughters Wedding
PeggyV posted a topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I will be going to Rimini Italy in August for my daughters wedding. I am wondering how I will be safe eating out when I cant communicate. Any ideas? My daughter also is gluten intolerant, so it will effect both of us. The last thing we want to do is bloat up and not be able to get into our dresses.... -

Are they small spots or larger? Or both. I would get small clusters (3 to 5) of small blister. sometime just one, but they itch really bad. They eventually turn red and go away. Now that I am gluten free I dont get them to often, usually after my digestive tract tells me I have been glutened. I have also had the really sore spots, I figured they...
