  1. They have a lot of things I do not buy because the quantity is so large it would either take us forever to use, or I just don't have a place to store. I buy paper plates, cups and plastic cutlery. I buy cat litter. I buy toilet paper, paper towels and wet wipes. I buy assorted produce, some of it organic. We love the sliced apples and baby carrots...
  2. I order a lot of things from this site here. Also Miss Robens, Ener-G, Allergy Free Foods and a few other places. Rarely use Amazon and never for food.
  3. I use the Ener-G crusts. I get them online from them.

    ARCHIVED Sprouted Wheat Bread

    No, no, no.
  5. Wow! I don't eat any dairy at all so it wouldn't affect me, but that's scary stuff!
  6. This is sooo wrong. Not that I eat any Hershey's. I usually buy Enjoy Life or Whey Out for daughter because of her allergies, but I did buy a couple of Hershey bars for husband the other day when he wanted chocolate. He's from PA and they love their Hershey's. Or used to. I wonder what my inlaws will say now?
  7. This must be a regional thing. No nut sales here.
  8. I've had very mixed results with it. So much so that I usually use flax meal instead.
  9. Yeah. I used to be famous for my baking. But this gluten-free stuff? Forget about it!
  10. I hate it when I do stuff like that!
  11. I would say it is possible. As for the patch... Is this something you are removing yourself? If so, you could be getting gluten (assuming there is gluten in it) on your skin and then transferring it to your mouth.
  12. I realize this is an old thread, but when we cut dairy out of our diets, my daughter and I had no more ear infections!
  13. Soy is not that good for you any more. Try another milk like rice or almond mik.
  14. I once bought a mix online but can't remember where or what brand it was. It was perfect! No dairy or eggs, although I am not sure what flours it contained. All you had to do was add orange juice. Made the best tasting pancakes ever! And the texture was good. Everything else I have tried has been a flop. The pancakes always stick to the pan.
  15. We had chicken and rice soup on Sunday because I wasn't feeling well. Monday was Taco Del Mar. Tonight, chicken stew in the crock pot. Some of the potatoes and green beans didn't fully cook though. Annoying! Tomorrow will be pizza for daughter and I. Ener-G crust and some beef based faux cheese. Will pick up a couple of slices of the real stuff...
  16. Foccacia is a very versatile bread and everybody seems to like the gluten-free kind. I used to use it as a base for pizza, but now use the Eneger-G crusts. I used to make a dessert pizza by omitting the savory seasonings, adding sugar and cinnamon to the top and then drizzling with icing.
  17. I get my daughter single serve packs of jam/jelly and also single serve packs of lunch meats or little slices of pepperoni and salami. She also eats faux cheese. Used to eat Chreese sauce but her allergies have changed and she can no longer have that. She does like rice cheese. You have to be careful to get the vegan kind. The non vegan contains casein...
  18. Not celiac AFAIK. Was never tested for it, but also didn't have any symptoms.
  19. Now she is allergic to wheat, spelt, peas, lentils, almonds and peanuts. Dr. said to avoid these foods but then husband piped up and said, "Couldn't she have a piece of birthday cake?" I'm not sure I agree with this but the Dr. said she could do this about every 3 months or so but we have to keep a food log and record everything. Of the foods she...
  20. McDonald's fries may or may not be safe. These are very controversial. We do not eat them because they contain not only wheat but dairy and we are allergic. Also, fries are not usually baked in restaurants. They are fried. Other things that might be fried in that oil could cause contamination. As the other poster stated, seasoned fries are usually...
  21. Not all jam is gluten free. Somebody posted about some kind with wheat based glucose syrup in it. I can't remember what brand. And if they were using a jar that had been previously used, the knife could have spread crumbs into it. I'd also be willing to bet the pans used or as other said the utensils were not gluten-free.
  22. You can get gluten-free corn flakes. I can't remember the brand now because I don't have any. I have gotten them at the health food store and also Big Lots. I really stocked up at Big Lots!
  23. My daughter was 6 when she was diagnosed. Allergy, not celiac. She sort of knew what she couldn't eat but wasn't quite capable of reading labels. They do make Trix cereal (gluten free) in little boxes and bowls. I get it through minimus.biz. No shipping charge if you order over $20 and I always do. They also have little jams, hummus, meats, etc. All...
  24. I have gastroparesis but not celiac. Mine if from diabetes. That (I believe) is the leading cause of gastroparesis. I rarely feel sick to my stomach any more. Used to all the time but didn't know about my food allergies. Since I have changed my diet, am no longer sick all the time. I still have to be careful though and not eat too much fat or fiber...
  25. In the US, caramel coloring is usually from corn.
