  1. I have gastroparesis but not celiac. My diet is pretty much the same all the time. Ian's gluten-free chicken nuggets, rice, potatoes, canned green beans, hamburger. I can eat some other veggies but I have to be careful. I am on a small dose of reglan.
  2. I vaguely remember a post about this some time ago that some dishwashing soaps are not gluten-free. I want to say that it was the Kirkland brand, but I could be wrong. We use Electrasol and haven't had any problems with it.
  3. They sell that here but we try to avoid soy.
  4. I found the perfect thing! Heat 1 1/2 cups chicken broth and 1/2 cup plain rice milk over medium heat. Meanwhile combine 3/4 cup gluten-free flour mix with 1 cup plain rice milk in a bowl. When broth mix comes to a boil, add the rice milk and flour and whisk until thick. Only takes another minute or so. It's excellent! I am going to try this next...
  5. These are shelf stable meals. Some are gluten free. You'll probably have to order from them. Open Original Shared Link For canned foods you can get Shelton's chicken and wild rice soup, or chicken chili. Another thing we get are garlic chicken breasts in a pouch (on the tuna aisle). These can be served with pre-cooked brown rice in a pouch that...
  6. Ah, okay. Thanks! I have made a baked casserole with torn corn tortillas but I only baked to heat it through.
  7. Thanks! I was thinking that. The meat mixture is already cooked and hot when you put it in. I'll try two hours next time.
  8. This is the recipe I used: Open Original Shared Link Now I did make a few changes. First of all, no cheese. I slightly more than doubled the meat. Then I found that the cans of Rotel came in 10 oz. cans. So I used two cans and added a small can of tomato sauce. I cooked it on low for 5 hours. It looked like chili! Didn't taste like chili. Tasted...
  9. Well, I can't have dairy but it does look good.
  10. That sounds good. Sunday, daughter might have broken her arm. We won't know for sure until next Sunday when they can take another X-Ray. Right now it is in a splint. Because of the accident, we all had a super late lunch. She had some white rice and a garlic chicken breast from a pouch and I had a salad for dinner. Not sure what husband ate. Something...
  11. I just sent an e-mail as well. We use Smart Beat. I think that's what it's called. It's a liquid by Smart Balance. I like it in things like mashed potatoes, but not so much on things like popcorn. It's actually a bit thicker than a liquid. Rather like ketchup in texture. You can't use it for cooking but it does lend a buttery flavor. For popcorn...
  12. I too like the Tinkyada pasta and Dr. Schar's crackers and breadsticks. Also like Enjoy Life chocolate, chips and cookies (all but the no oats oatmeal). Daughter likes Ener-G donuts and Wylde pretzels.
  13. Skittles are gluten free too.
  14. Are you sure there is no soy sauce in there? Most jerky has it. I have found a few brands that don't though.
  15. It's possible (though not probable) that their soy sauce is gluten-free. They do make that kind.
  16. When I use it as an egg sub, I don't really measure it. I just use about 1 or 2 T. and add enough water to make it look like the size of an egg or two. I often put it in meatloaf. Some people add it to cooked cereals. I have sprinkled it on buttered toast. You can put it on top of cottage cheese.
  17. We use Crofter's. It's really good.
  18. I make those for daughter all the time. Either with sorbet or Coconut Bliss, strawberries, rice milk and sometimes a bit of honey. Or I have left out the strawberries and used vanilla Coconut Bliss and dairy free chocolate or caramel sauce or both.
  19. Yes, you can do them in molds. I've made both plain and filled.
  20. The Applegate Farms is really good. I've been making a crockpot recipe with cut up uncured beef hotdogs wrapped with pieces of bacon, secured with toothpicks and layered with brown sugar. Daughter loves it! I don't eat hotdogs so I save the leftover bacon and cook it in a pan for myself. Yum!
  21. Not sure what brands you get in Canada, but Rice Dream is not gluten-free.
  22. I guess that all depends. If they are a soft plastic and could have any scratches or nicks or if there could be any places where gluten could hide (I used to have some that had lids that had several pieces to them) then you should probably replace them. Otherwise, they might be fine.
  23. Cooking for one can be tricky! One thing I sometimes do is cook up a lot of taco meat and freeze it in single serving size portions. I don't have an exact recipe. I just use ground beef with chopped white onion and bell peppers. I brown it all, chopping it up as it cooks. I then add pleny of chili powder. I mean like several tablespoons full for a...
  24. I made wild rice last year instead of stuffing. Everyone liked it.
  25. My daughter does not have celiac, AFAIK and her IgE allergy tests come back negative. However, she has IgG allergies and one to wheat. So you might try that kind of testing. It's done via a blood test. We had to go to a Naturopath, which of course isn't covered by insurance.
