ARCHIVED Noodle Crafts At Preschool.
finally diagnosed replied to dandelionmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi Dandelionmom what I would do is just give her another reminder. Sometimes face to face is more personal and effective than email. email can be taken all different ways. Also I would just go ahead and provide her with a box containing gluten free pastas and crafts supplies ie:glue, etc this way there will be no reason for this mistake happening again... -
ARCHIVED Brain Damage At School!
finally diagnosed replied to lovenhappiness's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
If you can find out if you can have a special snack bin for Esa, also if you can pre pack some cupcakes or slice of cake for when they do have a bday party and a parent forgets. Most teachers would welcome use of their freezer in the teachers room or in your PTO office. I have celiac but have two children in my daughters class who have wheat allergies ... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Weight Watchers
finally diagnosed replied to disneyfan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Sorry when I say prep, I try to plan my meals for the week that will work for me and the family. You definetly follow your own meal and plan, they just help you by letting you know which one of the foods is core and how big of a portion it is. I did the sign up on line before, I liked it, meaning that you can access a lot of good recipes and make it into... -
ARCHIVED From Gluten Free To Normal Diet For Diagnosis
finally diagnosed replied to pcsv2002's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
good luck on your results and I hope you find your answers. I will probably catch crap for this, but I am glad your are going this root and you can get a diagnosis. This way if it is Celiac, you are all set and can train her and yourself and family how she can live with this for the rest of her life. If it is a food allergy, for example: Dairy, than you... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Weight Watchers
finally diagnosed replied to disneyfan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi, I do the core plane at WW and I love it. It is basically proteins, fruit, fish, veggies, etc. You should still watch your portions, but you can eat the usual of 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day. Make sure you drink all the water and have the skim milk (if you aren't lactose intolerant). you can also have brown rice and you don't need to count that... -
ARCHIVED From Gluten Free To Normal Diet For Diagnosis

this is why I don't like to put my opinion on these boards. It doesn't come down to who has more experience in raising kids,(just wanted her to know that I have older children other than a four year old) that is why I put it in parenthesis that I would probably catch some crap about my response. I was under the impression that this board is used for... -
ARCHIVED From Gluten Free To Normal Diet For Diagnosis

I don't think you jumped the gun. You did what you thought was right for your daughter at the time. Some children just have bowel symptoms without it being Celiac. If she is on the normal diet and doing well, let her have it and then do the testing. What harm can it do. (I know alot of people won't agree with me on that). But if your daughter doesn... -

ARCHIVED Against The Grain
finally diagnosed replied to jerseygrl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Jerseygirl, I have tried their french bread (bagetts)and their rolls. I absolutely love them. I can now make hamburgers and eat them with my family and not cry because my roll is nasty. I also use the french bread for my hot dog roll. You don't even have to heat it up, just defrost. I haven't tried the pizza shells yet, they don't sell them at my local... -

ARCHIVED Messy Non-celiac Babies/toddlers
finally diagnosed replied to ItchyMeredith's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree with dandelionmom, I would get a handheld rechargeable vacum and keep it charged all the time and use it. I also have a dog, who likes to eat the crumbs. I am the one in my house who has celiac. My family does not. My oldest who is 22 does not have it and my 7 year old does not as well. I tried to make my house gluten free and it wasn't fair to... -

finally diagnosed posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi I have never posted a question before, always a reply to something I hope this goes through. Does anyone know of a good gluten free flour or corn tortilla. I know of the usual ones that you can find at your local grocer, I am looking for large ones that you can make a burrito out of. ARCHIVED Bread Crumbs
finally diagnosed replied to ebrbetty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Betty, I think I have tried every nasty bread crumb out there. I have finally started making my own. I will get about 5 to 6 loafs of bread from kinnick (sp) or I will even use their hamburger buns. I cut them up and toast them then put them in my blender. Once they are nice and fine I add all my seasonings. I get a huge amount and I freeze them,... -
ARCHIVED Why Endoscopy If Blood Tests Show Celiacs?
finally diagnosed replied to gfny's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would have the endoscopy for the fact that, they will see how much damage you have, check for other damage as well to your small intestine and esophagus. I had my endoscopy done and found out that i had done damange to the bottom of my esophagus right into my intestine. I had patches that showed healing vili as well as damaged vili. When I have my follow... -

ARCHIVED Mouth Sores... Any Ideas? Please !
finally diagnosed replied to Aimee D.'s topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Aimee, I hope you have had some relief by now. I too will rinse with Mylanta and benadryl. It put equal amounts in a cup and swish it in my mouth. For years I would get sores in my mouth, on my cheeks inside and my throat. They use to say it was hand, foot and mouth disease. When they finally diagnosed me with Celiac and I stopped the gluten. there... -

ARCHIVED Had Biopsy Yesterday
finally diagnosed replied to arlingtonmom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi I had mild scalloping on my biopsy as well. My gastro pretty much told me after the scope that I had it, but lets wait for the results. I also had some areas that were healed and some that showed definite signs of celiac. I had done weight watchers for years, so some of the times I didn't eat any type of bread or pasta etc. I also had esophagitis that...
