  1. Hi Ryan, for the bakery stuff, there is a bakery called good juju bakery. the website is www.goodjujubakery.com the lady who owns it is judith mann, a nurse and celiac as well. she sells her stuff in tons of stores down there and she also has it delivered to your house. I have never had anything bad from there. you can look on her website and it tells...
  2. Okay, I am going to chime in here. When you are out drinking do you have enough water when you are out. I have a rule that I need to eat before I go out, and for every alcoholic drink I have I have 1 to 2 glasses of water in between. ( i usually always order a glass of water with every drink I order, this keeps me/us from getting too dehydrated). i also...
  3. The last thing I am trying to do is trivialize anything regarding celiac disease. I really do feel for smiley eyes just as much as I feel for anyone else who has this. I understand this a place to vent and venting is what I did. I did mention that in my response many times. And when I respond to as the "person always complaining at work" that was me for...
  4. I am sorry if I am not understanding this correctly. I have had Celiac for 3 plus years now and I went on the link, I don't see anything about Celiac Disease. There is something there about immune disease. I am sorry for people if they are having a hard time at work regarding lunches, people touching their food etc. Gluten needs to be ingested for it...
  5. Hi Darci, I had two of these done. It was the best thing I ever did. The first one lasted a year and then I had another 1/2 years later and I am lucky if I get my period every 5wks. And when it does come it last 3 days if that and very light. My sister had her ablation done in May and she can't be happier, like a new person. And believe it or not my...
  6. Hi Lizard, I have had h-pylori and it isn't fun, so I feel for you pain. My symptoms were awful, raw upper GI pain, chest pain. Sometimes if I ate or drank something it was like acid in my stomach or chest. Lived on Pepto for years, pre celiac diagnosis. Went to my doc and he mentioned maybe h-pylori and I was like what else can I have because they never...
  7. There can be many reasons as to why you have prolonged periods and bleeding every 2-3 wks. For instance, are you taking alot of asprin, or medication that has asprin or asprin product in it? When you mention 2-3 weeks a month are they full periods or is it blood when you wipe. Sorry to sound graphic. Sometimes people can have little hemorrhoids that can...
  8. I use the Alouette brie that comes in the plastic container. It is gluten free.
  9. Hi, I had the pasta at the Burlington, Ma site and it was awful. The kitchen totally overcooked it, to the point that it fell apart. I was supposed to be spiral pasta and it came broken up in little pieces. My waiter at first didn't have a clue he suggested the Pompodoro (spelled wrong) sauce and luckily for me I had just seen a cooking show on that and...
  10. Hi Mrs. JohnnyG , I hate to sound like "debbie downer" you say you have been tested for everything in the world. Have you and your husband ever had genetic testing done? Sometimes there are a few genes that mix and cause fetus to sponateously abort. I knew a women years ago who carried a gene that was for Tay-Sachs disease and every pregnancy she had...
  11. I do feel sorry for you it is very frustrating at first. My parents are still getting the hang of it and it has been almost 3 years. I will go there for dinner and they make every effort to keep things clean, but if she makes her famous salad dressing and uses her mayo she doesn't understand that the jar has already been contaminated from when they made...
  12. I was told of the <.01% gluten wafers at a local church where I live, not the church I attend. When I spoke to my specialist about the low gluten host he informed me it was a no, that I was still getting a certain amount of gluten. I too feel left out when my whole family stands up and receives the host. I sit there and feel as if people are wondering...
  13. Give it time it will happen. Everyone starts thier period at different ages. If you are very athletic sometimes this prolongs it. But as long as you are healthy and things are starting to develop let nature take it's course. But as a precaution I would put something in my backpack for when school starts just in case it happens then. Good Luck.
  14. I'm not sure about the HORRID breath from Celiac. (still learning after 1 1/2 year diag) But I can say that if he isn't brushing his tongue or flossing that can do it for sure. My 8 year old can brush her teeth but she can have wicked breath after. I have her stick out her tongue and it usually coated white and that is plaque build up. Hopefully this...
  15. I use Jane Iredale and Burts Bee's.
  16. thanks everyone. i suppose i do eat alot of carbs. once i find a bread that is decent i overdue it. i just switched my rice to brown rice also. i also did have wine the night before i did the test so hopefully this is the culprit. as for the diabetes test i am already hypoglycemic so i don't know if one effects the other. i will definetly try...
  17. hi folks. i don't usually post so i hope this goes where it should. does anyone have problems with their tryglycerides being high. my good and bad cholesterol are good except my tryglycerices are 430! i don't eat fried foods, i take multivitamins which are totally gluten free. someone had mentioned maybe too much starch. any ides would be great. or...
  18. Hi, you didn't say what state you are in, but in Mass you need to go in person or mail it on their form to sign a release to have them either sent to the new doc or you can pick them up in person. This is something that they don't make a priority in offices. But on the other hand you should still be able to see the new person and if they need certain records...
  19. I agree. I would get the shot if it is available. I was diagnosed with Shingles during the month of April, very stressful time for me MID-TERMS, nursing exams etc. It was very painful and yes my skin did hurt. I did take the anti-viral medicine right away, but that is to ward off post herpetic neuralgia from the shingles. I too will be recieving the shot...
  20. Hi I am actually starting to pack for a vacation in Maine next week. I bring with me my own collander (to strain pasta), my own cutting board (i have a small one just for this reason) and I have a two slice toaster I take as well. This would be the only thing I can think of to keep CC at a low. I try to bring my own meats already marinated and frozen if...
  21. I can't believe it. This was really the only place around to eat a hot sandwich and feel "normal". Thank you for the information. Now what are we to do.
  22. Hi Anna, I can't tell you that you made a great decision, because it is something that you and your husband only know. But I can tell you that it is great for your children to have a mom now and enjoy what you have, for their are people out there (celiac or not) who will never have the chance to conceive and give birth. I to have had 4 pregnancies and ...
  23. sorry to sound ignorant here but, i though that yoplait was no longer gluten free. where i live all the ypolait's no longer say "gluten free". (mass) is it just the whips that are gluten free. i have never looked into eating them and i can only stomach brown cow yogurt for so long. can someone please clarify . so can we have yoplait. i am seriously missing...
