  1. Hi Cynbd......sorry a slow response. My computer at home is broken and I'm finally at the library. I LOVE those Lundberg chips. I quit eating them, for now, because they have yeast in them and yeast seems to still bother me at this point so I am avoiding it. Might you have a problem with yeast? Angel
  2. PKU is the inability to ingest phenylalanine. People that have it are called Phenylketonurics. They test ALL newborns for it at birth cuz if they don't I think that they would die within days. Phenylalanine is one of the nine (?) essential amino acids for adults. I don't know what forms of protein (meat? milk?) it's in or what they need to avoid. People...
  3. I saw it on the Celiac.com Home Page.......it IS cute......click on the pic and you can order from there it looks like. You have to report back if you buy it!
  4. "Or - Having 10 minutes to find 7 different public restrooms in the downtown area." Ooooooooh! This could be whole 'nother new reality show! Feed 'em EX-Lax and see who can find a bathroom the fastest ............IN TIME TO AVOID AN "ACCIDENT"............ How about "How to Get Home With Soiled Garments Without Anyone Noticing?"
  5. I AM! I was dx with CFS 20 years ago and finally dx with Fibromyalgia almost 7 years ago. Going gluten free this past year has not helped my Fibro one iota.......the reason being because my stomach problems have been so bad that I have not been able to keep up with my Fibro meds. Up until I had the Celiac problem this last year, I WAS getting much better...

    ARCHIVED Dr. Guandalini?

Hi Fiddle-Faddle! I'm not sure what else to tell you about Dr. Ehrenpreis. I believe that he is a gastroenterologist but he is VERY informed about Celiac and appears interested in learning new stuff, doing research/studies and really taking care of the patient. He did NOT run any of my tests. I had those done by a prior doc, the one that was a disaster...
  7. I hadn't been sure how to bring up this topic but here goes. I am on Guaifenesin therapy for Fibromyalgia. In order for the Guai to properly work, I must avoid ALL Salicylates in makeup and anything put topically on my body. There are two com- panies that make products just for us. Please note, that I have no financial gain in recommending either company...
  8. Sorry, I don't know the answer to your post, but I had the same problem too. CAVITIES by the gazillions as kid......not allowed to have much candy and had to brush always after eating yet still got cavities all of the time.......and my sister had maybe one cavity in her whole life! It continued into adulthood with numerous root canals due to the deep...

    ARCHIVED Dr. Guandalini?

After seeing a dirtbag gastro doctor in Geneva who strung me along for 4 months and clearly didn't know what he was doing, I WAS going to go and see Dr. Guandalini since he comes HIGHLY recommended. My only hesitation was that he specializes in pediatrics and while he will do a 2nd opinion for adults, I didn't know if I would be able to continue seeing him...
  10. Hi! I haven't been to fast food restaurant since My Last Hurrah (the 3 months I went off the gluten free diet in order to undergo testing including a biopsy. I don't DARE since I've been poisoned at a regular restaurant where I carefully explain how to prepare my food. I missed fries too so here is what I do for MY Fry Fix: Ore Ida Extra Crispy Easy...
  11. Yup, Rice Addict is right. I called Pepsi products a few months ago and they assure me that all of their drinks ARE gluten free. That also includes their Aquafina flavoured waters. This is in the United States. Drink up and enjoy!............................Angel
  12. Hi! Adding to the fray.......of all the food companies I've contacted in the last 10 months, they have all appeared knowledgeable and helpful.......the only one that I got a terse reply from was the woman at Hersheys that stated. "The ingredients are as listed." She seemed to imply and only imply, that if there was a gluten source, they wouldn't be hiding...
  13. Yikes! I'm a newbie here, just got registered and am a bit overwhelmed. I don't know if there are any posting rules, other than no abuse and basic respect so here goes. I am responding to the original poster of this topic, Aizlynn......I contacted Quaker Oats last month after spending alot of time in my "office" (the bathroom!) and was told regarding their...
