  1. Ooooo, my eyelid's swelling shut, how special....
  2. I puked fairly recently (sometime this year) from food poisoning, and I had had pasta with tomato sauce. That was pleasant. Hasn't kept me away from tomatoes though! Once when I was a kid I threw up a chunk of chicken, completely unchewed. The weird part? I hadn't eaten chicken in days. We still sometimes puzzle over that one!
  3. Well, apparently they can be triggered whenever your immune system takes a blow, and also by extreme sunlight exposure? Last weekend (10 days ago) I got a wicked bad sunburn on my face. So it's all my fault. And it's never going to happen again, lemme tell ya. I've had my "Come to Jesus" moment, I'll be traveling with sunscreen in my purse from March to September...
  4. By the way- thanks you guys. You are all so completely awesome, and I couldn't ask for better friends, near or far away like you all are. It's made me feel so much better to have people to talk to.
  5. So I remembered the Coconut Dream stuff? The stuff the Soy Delicious people make out of coconut milk that's made with agave instead of sugar! I get to have that instead of Haagen Dazs! My mother's bringing some over along with refried beans (tasty and squishy and nutritious with cheese) and some frozen spinach for soup. Hopefully I won't starve. It's hard...
  6. I've had boils! Much less painful than shingles. I was actually typing under the influence earlier, Vicodin only makes me a little fuzzy. I was honestly hoping for a lot more fuzzy, I'm pretty darn drug resistant. I was hoping for something to lay me out flat. But 80% pain reduction sure ain't bad, thinking I might add Advil, see if that combo helps...
  7. Hi everybody!!!! I know I've been a horribly unattentive psillie, I really do mean to get in here more. My boyfriends been filling our free time with lots of stuff like kayaking and trips to family and friends, so I haven't had any time on the weekends and I'm usually too busy during the week. I'm here now because I've got shingles!!!! All over my face...
  8. You know, I've never had anyone actually disagree with me about Celiac. If someone asks, I say I have Celiac first, and either they understand or I get the blank stare. If I get the blank stare, I say, "You know in the health food section at the grocery store, all the stuff labeled 'gluten free' "? And the light dawns and they go, oh yeah! And I just say...
  9. You know, that may work great for you, although 'not believing in this cross contamination business' has gotten a whole lot of people on this website quite sick. It's pretty easy to know you've been glutened when you get a rash that only comes from gluten, and 'this utensil business' has certainly gotten my gluten-caused dermatitis herpetiformis to flare...
  10. Just walked down to my public library to discover they're closed all weekend. Huff. At least I got some exercise. Wish I was in on the mini-psillie gathering!
  11. Ideas- sorry, too sleepy to think, will be back tomorrow after I rememmber what they were...........
  12. I realize I'm coming in late to this conversation (stupid job) but I have a few ideas! Patee, are you sensitive to coconut? If not maybe try the Tropical Traditions website. I have a handpump lather soap that has one ingredient- saponified virgin coconut oil. Seriously. Not that I would use it on my hair regularly- I did try it once, gave me tangles you wouldn...
  13. Also known as 'jacking', this is a lovely way to get applejack-hard (very hard!) cider!
  14. I'm with Em on this one. Same thing happens to me. Quack.
  15. Burton's Grill in South Windsor. OH. MY. GOD. Can you say fried food? WONDERFULLY fried food. I had onion rings. Do you know how long it's been since I had onion rings? Also, Egg's Up Grill in Portland. Owner has Celiac, so gluten-free pancakes, muffins, toast, english muffins, and all your normal stuff too.
  16. Awesome!!! I'm already learning how to do certain 'special' things so I can be a 'backup' person for when one guy's wife has a baby. Makes me feel good!
  17. When this happens to me -something not working out the way I thought it would- I stick it in a bowl in the fridge and think about it for a day or two. It will keep fine and you can spend time researching recipes that have those ingredients. As far as I know, buckwheat flour + water + vinegar + oil does not a recipe make. Honestly, I would be careful with...
  18. Just wanted to join in and post another post that has 'royal carribean' and 'crappy' in the same post. So that when someone Googles Royal Carribean review, they see that they SUCK! Reasons not to take a cruise......
  19. I actually want a much bigger dog than that. Maybe a labradoodle? I have no idea, I will probably go around looking for a rescue pet when the time comes. I just know I want a big floppy hair dog!
  20. Had a lovely time!! You's all are makin me sad, I can't have kitties... even when I try to take medication every day after a while I end up with such bad asthma I can't do anything. I love kitties.... But someday I'll have an apartment or house where I can have a dog, and I'll find me a rescue hair dog! I want a floppy one. With big floppy ears...
  21. I'm home today, fighting a big fat case of the blahs. Got my monthly hormone roller coaster ride going on, weeee. Been remarkably pain free thus far, thankfully, just quite fatigued. I just took a nap by accident, good thing I was sitting down. Made a roast in the crock for dinner, my uncle's coming over. I have some incredibly cool family members, and...
  22. Yeah, if you wanna be broke by the end of dinner.
  23. SOO TIRED....... Bustin my butt at my new job. Have read everything but couldn't possibly tell you what everyone's been talking about. Other than a multiplicity of plussitudinousness!
