  1. Hi, Wow, you really are going through it. It sounds like you are having major malabsorption problems. Are you taking vitamin D or cod liver oil, a good calcium (I use E-zorb since nothing else works for me--I have read about it nowhere but on the net. However my mother who reads scientific american all the time remembers there was this big investigation...
  2. Thanks Susan, I will defintiely try it. I also use the barberry powder mixed in Aquaphor (vaseline would probably do) for exterior yeast infections and take barberry internally as a tea with the rest of my teas. It really is helping immensely. I have tried tea tree oil externally in the past but it has only been intermittantly useful to me. The barberry...
  3. Kathy, I wouldn't begin to know how to read this (though I am sure others will). Did you ask your doc? Or maybe you could call the agency that did the test. However I was just reading this book called Dangerous Grains--and it indicates lots of people are gluten sensitive without being clinical celiacs. You could have dermititus herpetiformis or something...

ARCHIVED Looking For A Doc In San Jose, Ca

Hey Tom, You know I don't know of anyone personally although I met someone at the YMCA in San Jose whose therapist is working with her concerning celiac. Perhaps the therapist knows someone? I have had difficulties finding anyone versed in this. I got some good clues by a naturopath/chiropractor in Brisbane. However he's really not much into diet, strange...
  5. More yays!! Because of you I have started my aged mom today on some of the herbs too. She actually didn't mind the taste--which is pretty amazing. I added the licorice for taste, as well as to lift up the adrenals. Am crossing my fingers. She might get worse first then better if she has a healing crisis. Overall her memory is starting to reappear...
  6. I can understand the confusion however there is no reason to be scared. This is a very curable disease. Its not at all like cancer etc. etc. Though you do have to stay on diet and not go off it. Some people notice a difference in a couple of weeks, others take 3 to 6 months or more. Not going on or staying on diet can however create prime conditions for much...
  7. Thanks ML! I think doing the book is a must. It seems a lot of people don't have the appetite for herbs and diet such that I do. Have been investigating this for years and the stuff really does seem to work. To tell the truth my friends have encouraged me to do so for years however I wanted to be healthy before I did it. I will be giving a talk in Santa...
  8. It's actually possible. Though maybe its just the strong that survive anyway assumsing it doesn't kill you. I don't know if a little radiation can make one stronger. Certainly it tests one. I almost died twice--once as an infant and once as a young adult with advancing kidney disease. Both of which I licked somehow--figuring out about diet certainly helped...
  9. Yeah actually they were doing an experiment on the locals --that's why they didn't tell anyone until they were found out in 1990. I suddenly heard this news on the radio and the guy they interviewed (some general so and so) actually said "we didn't realize we were doing anything wrong." I cried since I had so many health problems over the years. "Yeah that...
  10. Thanks for asking actually. Amazingly my thyroid is fine for the most part. I had issues of being too cold for years but by going on diet and taking the co-enzyme B's I am finally over that. For a while I took thyroxin and ended up being hyperthyroid--and had to go through this whole thing to get past that. My sisters however have low thyroid issues-...
  11. Oh wow. I guess out come the cotten gloves, a fresh pair every day...And the vinyl or latex gloves for emergencies. The money thing is kind of astounding. One doesn't want to be paranoid or neurotic but then where is the line between what is real and what isn't? How much is too much? I think if we strengthen ourselves it helps us be more resistant...
  12. I have often had the same experience--it can be either a heightened mold/fungal allergy or what you ate last night was OK to eat once in a while but not every day. I have both. You might too. You can check it out by eating very simply with foods you are not likely to be allergic to (I suggest a cave man diet ), or actually going on a fast, and then come out...
  13. Hi sick chick and all, you and I have had some similar difficulties. I am fungied up to my ears so to speak. Used to be in my scalp too. Real nice down below you know where. Good ol antibiotics. And yes I was born in Washington and lived there a few times as a young adult. Hey Washington was where I was exposed to radiation as an infant from the Green...
  14. It often does take time to actually feel better, however it is worth it in spades. You might want to dial back on the rice. I can't eat it every day myself despite not eating much gluten for years. It actually has a small amount of gluten in it. The trail lmix might also be suspect. Even if it doesn't have gluten in it it probably has lots of sugar...
  15. I have found taking magnesium trwice a day (to bowel tolerance--when it causees D and back off) works like a champ against constipation while also helping gout he nerves etc.. Also fresh ground up flax seed with a little apple pectin added to the grind is excellent--with plently of water added. Yolo
  16. Yeah, guys. I think having medication for anxiety attacks is a good idea to have around. My sister is trying this out on my mother and I think basically its a good idea. Nevertheless for myself taking the detox and anti fungal and intestinally soothing herbs I suggested earlier (you can check some of my previous posts) as well as probiotics and basic supplements...
  17. Yay!! -----Yolo PS more later--am off to a writing class
  18. Hi Sick Chick, Did you try the mash? Is it helping?? Am trying to find out if my remedies are helping here or not. I realize everyone is alittle different however this has helped my friend too. Am thinking of recommending them at a celiac meeting in Santa Cruz, CA probably in April or March. Yolo
  19. Oh wow. Dear Franky, in regards to your wife's condition--as I have written to Gluten Wrangler elsewhere, I was rapidly losing my kidneys when I was 23 years old. In less than a year I lost 1/2 of my right kidney to pyeloneprhitus. This is a condition that is rampant apparently both on my Mom's side and my Dad's side. My father in fact died from kidney disease...

    ARCHIVED I Want To Cry

About the psillium. I have had problems tolerating that stuff too! I just can't. But I have found that if I grind 1 to 2 tablespoons of fresh flax seed in a coffee grinder set up for just this purpose (i.e. rather than coffee), and add 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. apple pectin to it it works wonders. Just grind and then mix it in water in a glass and drink and then chase...
  21. I definitley get anxiety if I eat gluten or much in the way of sugary items not to speak of most milk products (except plain non fat yogurt). Chocolate is a real hurdle since its so addictive. Its easy to have too much and get anxiety even though it also has the good effects of magnesium. I also get anxiety when exposed to certain cleaning agents and...
  22. Has anyone here had problems with combining Murphy Oil Soap and Simple Green carpet cleaner? I was cleaning the house yesterday and had a bad reaction after I used the Simple Green carpet cleaner on old stuck glue on the edge of the vinyl flooring while washing the floor with Murphys. It worked like a champ, however my neck got whacked and then my whole body...
  23. Hi, Nancy I agree about the B vitamin deficiency here to cure RL and bed bug feelings. I have had this problem big time. It finally has gone away unless I am glutened or get exposed to some chemical I can't handle. What resolved the increasing leg and feet burning and twitching as well as pins and needls (even though I already was on a gluten and sugar...
  24. Yes, AliB, I agree with everything you said. I too struggle with the little buggers. It seems the bane of my existeance from time to time, especially after the holidays. Candida albicans overgowth/fungus infection what have you. As a result I get cravings from time to time even when on a good sugar and yeast free plus gluten free diet, usually just because...
