  1. Hey people, So I've had this strange thing start happening since I was diagnosed celiac. My hunger has been almost out of control, almost all of the time. I've had a hard time finding foods that leave me satiated for more than a few hours for about a year - but I haven't gained any weight, or lost any, so I think I'm ok in that regard. I'm worried...
  2. Hi Everyone, I hope that you're having a good holiday season, and that it's not too stressful. I'm having a MAJOR craving for sugar cookies, but I just realized that I don't know if there's any gluten free sugar cookie sprinkles. Anyone have any recommendations? Also, I have old christmas cookie cutters that are made of plastic - I used to use them...
  3. So, I'm on a really strong antibiotic and I thought I was in the clear because I haven't developed a yeast infection or had any sort of stomach trouble. But now, I have developed a rash around my bottom - kind of embarrassing, but we talk about everything on here, right? - and I was just reading about candidal infections on the skin - which I've never...
  4. I'm sorry that you got sick Janeti, BUT: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are ABSOLUTELY gluten free. I literally eat these by the pound - and am very sensitive - I have never had a problem. Some of the holiday Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - the ones that are shaped differently, have wheat in them - but Hershey's will never hide gluten, so you just...
  5. Hey everyone, does anyone know if Tylenol Go-Tabs are gluten free? Thanks!
  6. Oh I TOTALLY understand this one. I work in an office with mostly women - who are constantly on diets, complaining about how they want to be skinny but they don't want to give up their bread at dinner or their cake for desert and it's so frustrating to me! Someone actually said to me today - are you ready for this - that they are jealous that I get to...
  7. Hi Walter! It's good to see you again, I hope you can be around more often. Your stomach issues worry me - if I were you I would cut your diet down to the bare minimum for a couple of weeks to see if you can get your strength back. I bet that will help your depression as well. I found when I went gluten free that it was incredibly comforting to eat the...
  8. Hi Everyone, I'm in a bit of a situation... and I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not the morning-after-pill, Plan B is gluten free?? I can't find out anywhere.... Any information as soon as possible would be huge. Thanks! -sansglutengrl
  9. Thank you sooo much jerseyangel - that is the scariest feeling!
  10. Hi Everyone, Does anyone know if McCormick Pure Mint Extract is Gluten Free? I just made some bars with mint icing and now I can't find if they are gluten free!! I guess I'll find out soon because I already tried the icing. I know that they will not hide gluten but they didn't specify what kind of alcohol is in it.... ANY information ASAP would...
  11. Sandi, First of all - forgive yourself for your mistakes. Mamagoose is right, it's something that you definitely need to start taking very seriously. So keep that in mind, and also know that the past is the past and there's nothing you can do about what's been done, so there's no sense in feeling bad about it. Also, food can still be a comfort for you...
  12. Hi rbeeka, Welcome! It's great that you decided to start posting! From what I've seen, it's very common to have neurological issues when you get glutened - some people actually have those symptoms primarily. I get really anxious and upset and then very very sad - some people get angry, depressed, anxious, etc. For some of us, that's how we can tell the...
  13. Cathy, Just a thought : the Diet Coke and Coke Zero issue that you're having could be aspertame. I was never sensitive to this before I went gluten-free but now I can't even have a sip of Diet Coke without being INCREDIBLY nauseous. I figured it out because I thought I was getting glutened at Starbucks, but it was the Equal I was putting in my coffee...
  14. Thanks everyone! I knew I'd get good answers if I asked here. JNBunnie and VioletBlue, My diet is very low fat and low sugar and I never thought to look at the nutrition label on the yogurt - duh! there's lots o sugar and more fat than I usually eat so I bet that's part of it. I'm going to try this plain yogurt with blueberries and see if that helps...
  15. Hi Paula, I have never gotten sick from Enjoy Life and I tend to be pretty sensitive (I also am addicted to them!) but I know when I'm having tummy problems for whatever reason; too much dairy, stress, period, etc. corn always gives me a hard time. What was in the fajitas that you made? and what kind of corn tacos did you use? I hope you feel better...
  16. Annie76, What are you looking for in a conditioner? I love to change hair products around and I honestly think I have tried EVERY single conditioner in the gluten-free world. Maybe we can help you find something that you love just as much. There's nothing worse than feeling limited by gluten. -sansglutengrl
  17. Ok. I've had two weeks of this and now I need some help. I was in the bathroom earlier trying to get positive thoughts to make my poop normal: "You will be solid and brown and you will not float!" Needless to say, it did not work (if only it was so easy!) I was actually having a pretty good couple of weeks, but I was still battling weight loss and INSANE...
  18. So.... What's with the white stuff? Does anyone ever have this? It's like liquid - I always thought it was a natural lubricant or something (TMI TMI!!) but now that I'm overanalyzing everything, I'm wondering if it's normal?
  19. Ok. Hate to do this, but I need to get a little more clarity on this subject. Ahem. What do you mean fatty stools? Is that when there is white stuff that comes out? So embarrassing! I could never ask my doctor this.......
  20. Hi all, So. I don't know about you, but I have been paying an abnormal amount of attention to my BM's since I've been diagnosed - I guess that's normal. Here's the question: How do you know what's normal? I feel like EVERY time I have loose stool or the big D I go searching through what I might have eaten (or what my co-workers might have sprinkled...
  21. I just want to add in here that Suave will also clearly label wheat. I've switched to Dove because it's fabulous, but when I first went gluten-free I was addicted to the Suave shampoos. they are super cheap and honestly, I didn't notice any difference between Suave and the fancy expensive stuff. Just wanted to provide another option.
  22. Thanks so much for your input everyone! I haven't been feeling sick very much so I never went through my shampoo, lotion, and makeup... but it occurs to me that maybe this is a symptom too? so I should probably do that.... Shamrocks - good idea with the nuts, I haven't been eating any recently and I should add that back in - it goes along with what...
  23. Ok. SO it's taken me quite a while to get used to this and so I've had a handful of bad glutening problems in the last year that I've been gluten free. To the point where I gotta tell you, I am not the biggest fan of eating. Comfort food? Not so much! Even the stuff that I know I prepare myself I get scared of - did those beans I just put in the rice come...
  24. Hey MarisaB, I just wanted to add this in as well - I've never actually had Kettle Chips, so I can't speak to that - but I've never been able to handle that SanJ's soy sauce. I have a problem every time I try it (sad because I looooove soy sauce.... I would eat in on cereal if I could.), and I have no idea why. I know that it's safe, and I don't even...
  25. Hi Angel, I have had the same thing. I actually just went to the doctor because mine were so out of control random, and she tested my thyroid to make sure there wasn't something wrong there, and there wasn't - but maybe this is your issue. Also, she said that it could take an entire year after going off the pill to get back to normal, and many months...
