  1. Does anyone know if Seaman's Soda's are gluten-free? Their e-mail address doesn't work and I will have to wait until at least Tuesday to call them. I was just hoping that someone here may know if they are safe. Where I live, Seamon's is the only company that sells flavours such as cream soda, lime rickey, birch beer, and ginger root. Thanks.
  2. There is a store on Burns Avenue, Charlottetown, PEI (Between Walmart and the Charlottetown Rural) and they sell gluten free flours, bread, bagels, cookies, pizza crust, ect. They sell Sterk's bread, which is in my opinion the best gluten-free bread. The store is called, A Fresh Start. I was just in the store today and I thought it was great! I have been...
  3. Allergies can be immediately life threatening; however, intolerances are not immediately life threatening. A lot of the symptoms of allergies can be quite similar to intolerance symptoms, so many people can get confused. Some allergy symptoms can include a swelling throat, hives, rash, and heart problems.
  4. I'm glad that you are feeling better. Gluten makes me depressed, irritable, anxious, and nervous and I also can get severe brain fog. I am interested to know what you eat everyday for meals since you had to eliminate so much food.
  5. Some of my recipes are salt free and they are tasty. Open Original Shared Link
  6. A mixture of cinnamon, chili powder, brown sugar, and a small amount of water tastes great on salmon.
  7. Your Minestrone Soup looks very tasty. I'll have to try making the recipe!
  8. Ragu is gluten-free and Dove will clearly indicate gluten in their ingredient lists.
  9. Potato Leek Soup 1 large Leek or 3 small leeks white and green parts, minced in a blender or food processor 1 large carrot or 3 small carrots, minced in a blender or food processor 1 onion, diced 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced 4-5 potatoes, cut into bite size pieces 1 Tablespoon Mrs. Dash Original 3-4 cups of plain rice milk, almond milk, or soy milk...
  10. You can find Bob's Red Mill in the health food section at the Sobey's by Future Shop or the Superstore by Burger King in Charlottetown. The health food section can be found in front of the meat department in both stores. I don't think I've ever had Nature's Path flours.
  11. Try some of the following foods to help flavour your food: Mrs. Dash can be added to almost anything to give lots of flavour Hot chili sauce works well in stir frys, omlettes, chienese, and thai foods Olive oil tastes great cooked with fresh vegetables Chili powder can also be added to almost anything to give a sweet yet hot flavour Brown sugar can...
  12. The problem could have been as simple as the flaxseed being too close to the gluten products on the shelf.
  13. I don't believe flax seed has ever bothered me before. The reaction happened over a year ago and the only new food that I remember eating was Bob's Red Mill flaxseed. All I remember is that I had a severe reaction that lasted for about 2 weeks. That was enough for me never to eat their products again. I am also extremely sensitive to gluten and I also have...
  14. Wow, thanks for posting that information. What about apples? They can have wax on them as well.
  15. I got seriously ill from Bob's Red Mill flaxseed. If you are very sensitive to gluten I would not consume that product.
  16. I would personally like to see 100% gluten free restaurants! I can't eat out anymore because of cross contamination. I voted for more convenience foods since Amy's is the only one that I can buy here and a lot of people seem to react to their products. I haven't had Amy's in a long time because I don't want to get sick!
  17. I'm gald that you liked the ranch flavour! Their ranch is a mild compared to the ranch dressings that I have had before.
  18. I don't trust Bob's Red Mill either after getting sick from their "gluten free" flaxseed.
  19. I may try those rice crackers again and see what happens, just to make sure that I didn't get sick from something else. Has anyone else had these crackers before?
  20. You may find that you get bad reactions if you consume casein. My dairy reactions seem to be a lot worse than they were. Also, I have read that intestinal damage can occur from casein.
  21. Be careful with the gluten-free food at the farmer's market. I would ask the lady how she avoids cross contamination. I believe that I got sick once from eating her food last summer.
  22. Doesn't Aveeno use oats in their products?
  23. I use Aunt Jemina syrup.
  24. I found this information on Revlon: Revlon Canada Ltd. (status as of July 2004) Please call (905) 276-4500 with your product inquiries and they will research it for you. They do not publish a gluten free list. Open Original Shared Link disease=6
  25. As long as the vegetables and fruit are canned in water or natural juices, they should be fine. Salt and cornstarch would also be alright. For canned vegetables, I usually eat Green Giant.
