ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Carriefaith replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Corn is definately a possibility. I don't have a corn allergy but I know people here on the board do. Here is a link on corn allergies: Open Original Shared Link Maybe you could get an allergy test done? I just had an allergy blood test back in February and one sample tested for about 30 different food allergies. -

ARCHIVED Gluten-free Casein-free Choclate
Carriefaith replied to kempy99's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've found that the milk free chocolate in the stores that I go to usually have "may contain traces of milk ingedients" on the label. I'll have to look and see if the stores in my area carry those products. Thanks. -
Is there any chance that you may have eaten something that was contaminated? The fever may have been a reaction to a food that you are intolerant or allergic to. The last time that I was contaminated I felt clammy. I didn't take my temperature, but I probably had a fever.

ARCHIVED Kraft - Catalina Dressing?
Carriefaith replied to VydorScope's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have suspected Lays Stax and Lays Regular chips and possibly lundberg rice chips, although I'm not sure if my reactions to the lundberg rice chips were from gluten or dairy. Some mistakes that I have made are eating dairy in restaurants and drinking wine with casein! I recently got sick from drinking wine that I believe contained casein. -
ARCHIVED Kraft - Catalina Dressing?
Carriefaith replied to VydorScope's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Catalina Dressing should be dairy free. This link says that the dressing is gluten and dairy free, but the list is Canadian: Open Original Shared Link -

I have learned a lot from this board and I am always learning. ARCHIVED Rice Crisps By Hot-kid
Carriefaith replied to Carriefaith's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have tried them again and didn't notice a bad reaction. The reaction that I had may have been from something else. I sure hope that my reactions was from something else because the new Sweet Chili flavour is amazing! Do you guys get these crackers in the US or are they a Canadian thing? -
ARCHIVED Skittles
Carriefaith replied to purplemom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED If You Are A Vegetarian.... Why?
Carriefaith replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I am not a vegetarian, but I'll give you reasons for why I think being a vegetarian is a good or bad idea. Good Idea Growing vegetables usually takes up less space and produces less harmful greenhouses gases than pastures for cattle. Non organic meat can contain hormones, how do those hormones affect us? Mainstream non organic meat is usually not very... -

Carriefaith replied to misgiss's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Here is a link to safe and forbidden ingredients: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid...-11106256077.3f Hot dogs and corn chips can contain gluten. Even if they don't contain gluten, they can be contaminated from other foods made in the factory. I have personnally been contaminated from "gluten free" hotdogs and corn chips. ARCHIVED Marshmallow Peeps Pie Recipe
Carriefaith replied to mmaccartney's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
There are peeps in Canada. I guess they aren't that popular here, at least where I live anyway. I havn't seen any peeps yet this Easter holiday. I'm sure they would be at Walmart! I just havn't been shopping there in awhile. -
ARCHIVED Licking Envelopes
Carriefaith replied to jaimi alderson's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Gluten can be in the glue. There are non-lick envelopes. Most of the banks around here have them. I was so happy when they switched. -
I must look for those soup mixes at the Superstore here. Hopefully we have them. When I was in Ontario, there were way more choices than here. I was shopping at a Zares in Cambridge though.

ARCHIVED Additional Food Intolerences
Carriefaith replied to StrongerToday's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Reactions are differnt for everyone. I usually get brain fog within a few hours and then my other symptoms progress from there. I would avoid the fries for awhile and them eat them on a day when you know that everything you ate was 100% safe. -
Salmon is very high in vitamin D. You can get over 100% of your daily intake of vitamin D in one serving! Open Original Shared Link Shrimp is also a good source of vitamin D: Open Original Shared Link

Welcome to the board You have found the right place! You will get lots of support here! Having a child would be a big step and the child may also have celiac disease, but since you already have celiac disease and know what to do, then there won't be too many problems. You may have to find gluten-free formulas.

ARCHIVED Daughter Has The Big "d" Tonight
Carriefaith replied to a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I get a rash like that after I am exposed to gluten. Are you sure that all those candies were gluten-free? Maybe call and re-confirm with the companies? or maybe the box of Amy's macaroni and cheese was contaminated? Also, she could have just gotten some cross contamination from in invisable crumb at school or in the house. I get gluten reactions and I have... -
ARCHIVED Heartburn Andstrange Spasms In The Esophegus
Carriefaith replied to T. Willick's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I get heart problems from gluten, but I don't know if they are celiac related or wheat allergy related. I can get severe heart palpitations and mild to moderate heart pain and I can also feel dizzy and like I am going to pass out. My guess is that your symtpoms may be related to accidental gluten ingestion. Heart problems and feeling faint are related to... -
I also get dreams where I am eating gluten. I just had one the other night! I think I was eating a granola bar or something and this time I don't think I was spitting it out. I usually take one bite of a cookie in my dreams and just spit them out right away.

ARCHIVED Seaman's Soda
Carriefaith replied to Carriefaith's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks I will have to use that number to call them next week. Their e-mail address doesn't seem to work. They have ingredients such as artifical flavour and colour in their soda's and I'm not sure if the source is gluten-free.
