  1. I am not a vegetarian, but I have a few products to recommend. All flavours of McCormick bouillon cubes are vegetarian. Those flavours include chicken, beef, and vegetable. Thai Kitchen has some vegan and gluten free food. Open Original Shared Link Natur-a makes some really good rice milk that is gluten-free, dairy free, and vegetarian. Open Original...
  2. That is a positive blood test. I highly recommend scheduling the endoscopy. If you want to have the endoscopy, make sure that you don't start the gluten-free diet until after the test. Also, make sure that your doctor takes at least five biopsies. Villi damage can be sporadic and doctors can miss damage if only a few biopsies are taken from the small intestine...
  3. I feel great on a gluten and casein free diet. I have been gluten free for about 2 years and casein free for about 1 year. The first year on the gluten-free diet was really tough for me, but after I got through that first year, I felt a lot better.
  4. I would bring her own food to the party. Even if their ice cream is gluten-free, they could have put ice cream in ice cream cones and then contaminated the whole ice cream container.
  5. Since tallow is animal fat, there may possibly be traces of milk in tallow.
  6. I just noticed yesterday that Rice Crisps now have a flavour that is not gluten free. I ate one of the new gluten free flavours last night and I don't feel all the well today I could be sick from something else, but I am suspicious. I am just wondering if anyone knows if all of the crackers are produced on the same line? Also, does anyone have any contact...
  7. Fruit and vegetables are probably the safest and healthiest snack. I suggest orange slices, watermelon slices, and carrot sticks.
  8. Maybe avoid eating out for a while, at least until you start feeling better. Also, if you are running out of food ideas, you could try some of my recipes. They are quite good! Open Original Shared Link
  9. Based on your symptoms, I would suggest getting tested for celiac disease. If you decide to get tested, here is a list of tests to ask for: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA Also, don't start the gluten-free until after testing. You can get false negative...
  10. Do you eat a lot of mainsteam foods? You may be just sensitive to very small amounts of gluten in some maintstream products. There are some mainstream products that some people with celiac disease can tolerate, but I cannot tolerate. Sometimes, the reactions maybe from dairy contamination and not from gluten. Here is a list of products that I have reacted...
  11. You could get a reaction from cologne if it got on your hand and then you ate something with your hand. You could also get contaminated if you directly inhaled the cologne. I'm not sure about tallowate. My guess is that it is gluten-free.
  12. Have you thought of getting tests through enterolab. If you find them too expensive, I suggest trying eating a diet with no common allergins for about 2 weeks and then add one new food each day and see how you feel.
  13. Did you have allergy tests and intolerance tests?
  14. You may have an intolerance to casein or another food.
  15. You could use the cookbooks that you already have and modify them to be gluten-free. You could also try some of my recipes: Open Original Shared Link
  16. I have had the sweedish berries, gummie bears, cherry blasters, and fuzzy peaches with no problems. I hope that they didn't change their ingredients!
  17. I just make a lot of extra food at supper, and then eat leftovers for lunch and sometimes breakfast!
  18. Banana boat is gluten-free.
  19. Wine may taste good. Wines should be gluten-free, but some may contain casein, the milk protein.
  20. Most people start to feel better on the gluten-free diet within 3-4 months. She wouldn't have to overload on gluten, but she should be having more than 2 servings of gluten per day in order to make sure that the tests are not false negative.
  21. I know that Colgate is gluten-free. I'm not sure if all Crest toothpastes are gluten-free.
  22. Wow, they actually think those foods are gluten-free? Good thing that you posted this. That informarion could really confuse people who are new to the gluten-free diet.
  23. I would ask her what blood tests that she had done. I have heard that some people with celiac disease are deficient in IGA antibodies; therefore, their IGA tests would come back false negative when they were eating gluten. Doctors usually administer the test(s) that detect IGA antibodies. Maybe suggest that she ask her doctor for this celiac blood panel:...
  24. I sometimes put tuna and salsa in corn tortillas and heat them up.
  25. I would suggest getting tested for other food intolerances or allergies. A lot of people with celiac disease have intolerances or allergies to casein, the milk protein and soy. I have read that the proteins in these foods are similar to gluten; therefore, the body could mistake them for gluten.
