  1. Constipation can be a symptom for some people with celiac disease. I can get both D and C when I accidently have gluten. Usually D at first and then C. When I get gluten in my system, sometimes I feel like I have the flu. I get aches just like I would if I had the flu. The fact that you notice a reaction when you ingest gluten is important. You may be...
  2. What is the name brand? Maybe you could e-mail or call the company and ask them the source of the modified germ.
  3. My mom says that Almond Breeze chocolate milk tastes really good heated up and it's gluten free. I haven't tried it yet myself, but I plan to.
  4. I would think that the recipe should turn out fine if you use potato starch, but then again I don't bake that much so I could be wrong.
  5. I get Natur-a produts at Sobey's, a local grocery store. Do you live in Canada or the US?
  6. I think that they are the same thing... although I could be wrong. When recipes call for one and I use the opposite, the food turns out fine!
  7. Since you did have an endoscopy and the villi appeared to be ok, I would guess that they are digesting lactose, sucrose, and maltose. You may have an intolerance or be allergic to soy. Have you considered getting an allergy blood test done? I had one allergy blood test about a month ago and it tested for about 30 different foods including soy, milk, wheat...
  8. I'm glad that you're ok. I understand your frustration. I'm not sure what to think about the soy lethithin in the almond breeze. I think that it would be fine if we weren't allergic or intolerant to soy, but I would be careful of it if you thought that you may have an issue with soy. Here are some links to Natur-a: Open Original Shared Link Open Original...
  9. If you want a blood test and/or a biopsy, you must be consuming gluten or you may get false negative results. You don't need to be eating gluten to get a gene test done though.
  10. Sterk's bread, Open Original Shared Link and kinnikinnick are my favorities.
  11. Sorry if you've mentioned this before, but how long have you been 100% gluten free? Maybe you just need more time to heal before you can tolerate certain foods. The enzymes that break down lactose, sucrose, and maltose and located in the villi and when the villi are damaged, lactose, sucrose, and maltose may not be broken down well if at all, causing problems...
  12. Jello brand is made by Kraft and they will not hide gluten in their ingredient lists.
  13. Well all of my symptoms are annoying, but the brain fog is probably the most annoying.
  14. I use Earth Balance gluten and dairy free butter with no problems.
  15. From your results, I would guess that you may have celiac disease, especially if you were having symptoms in addition to those positive results. Enterolab cannot dignose celiac disease, but they can highly suggest that you may have it. I read from someone here on this message board that their doctor diagnosed them as having celiac disease after getting a...
  16. You may be intolerant to casein.
  17. I have a few ideas: If the bathroom is in visable site of everyone, and they can see her go in and out, then suggest for her to take her purse into the bathroom everytime she goes. Then people may think that she is just re-applying her make-up or brushing her hair or something. Maybe there is another bathroom she could go to on another floor or in another...
  18. The majority of the food that we eat can have hormones, pesticides, bacteria, or be genetically modified. I always try and buy orgnaic food whenever possible. Organic is more expensive, but the food is worth the extra cost to me.
  19. You may notice some weight loss after being 100% gluten free for a while (probably about 3-4 months). I know people that have just went gluten free to lose weight and they succeed!
  20. Salmon is an excellent source of vitamin D. This site says that a 4 oz seving of salmon will give you more than 100% of your daily value of vitamin D: Open Original Shared Link Here is a link to foods that are high in vitamin D: Open Original Shared Link
