  1. I would also get gas and bloating almost everytime I ate for about 4-5 months on the gluten-free diet, then I slowly started getting better. The intestines just need time to heal, especially if there was a lot of damage done. Once your intestine heal, you should start feeling better. Something else you may want to try is eliminating lactose. Most people...
  2. I also agree that the gluten free diet would most likely improve the lives of people with autism, ADD/ADHD, schizophrenia, MS, ect. I think a lot of them probably don't know that gluten would help them, which is really sad actually. I really wish that more research and publicity would be done in this area so that more people can be helped. About telling...
  3. Your daughters results indicate that she may have celiac disease or a gluten intolerance/sensitivity. Because she tested positive on the gliadin IgG antibody test, I would ask her doctor to test her with the Tissue Transglutamase Test (tTg). This test is highly specific for celiac disease. In addition, I would also ask to see if her doctor would test her...
  4. Suncreen is something else that we have to watch out for. I got sick from suncreen that had oat extract in it. yeah... unfortunatley that is something that we usually have to learn on sites like this or the hard way (actually getting glutened)
  5. I'm sorry you are not getting support. To prevent cross contamination, you'll need to have separate condiment jars (peanut butter, butter, jam, mayo, ect), a new toaster, and new deep fryer, ect. Cross contamination can affect everyone with celiac disease and even if they don't feel sick, gluten can still damage the intestines. Maybe print off some info for...
  6. Just to share some information I found out yesterday. Rice Dream is not gluten free. I went out and bought some thinking it was and then before I had any I came across this info: Open Original Shared Link Is Rice Dream Beverage a gluten free product? No. Rice Dream Beverage is processed using a barley enzyme. Even though the barley enzyme is discarded...
  7. I live in Canada and I follow this list without any problems, Open Original Shared Link
  8. I had people confront me about my weight. For example, I was taken aside once and asked if I am ok, they were implying "are you eating". And I had some people telling me that I looked way too thin and didn't look good.
  9. I have another one that I didn't mention in my first post, Garlic From what I have read garlic can help fight colds and flus and other infections, control fungal infections, aid in lowering cholesterol levels, and garlic may prevent cancer. 10. Do you have to order these online or can you find them in stores? I'm assuming these brands are gluten-free.
  11. I drink So Good Soy Milk and Tropicana Calcium Enriched Orange Juice. I've read about the pro's and con's about soy and it does concern me, but I would like to see good scientific studies that prove these claims though. I may look into other products such as rice milk or almond milk.
  12. Blueberries! Open Original Shared Link They help prevent cancer, help prevent urinary tract infections, help reduce the risks of heart disease, help regulate the bowel from diarrhea and constipation, they improve vision, and improve memory! I try and eat one cup of blueberries every day in smoothies. They are expensive but the health benefits are...
  13. I wouldn't let him eat it just in case. It may be fine, but you don't know for sure.
  14. I know someone who works at Sobey's and they say they they spice the chicken and put a powerdery coating on it. I would guess that it has gluten in it. You should ask to make sure. Hope you are feeling better soon.
  15. I think that you may be intolerant to gluten and/or something else like casein. You also could have celiac disease. You have a lot of the symptoms of celiac disease, the unexplained weight loss, insane hunger, depression, nausea, GI trouble, brain fog. When I have a gluten accident, I get really hungrey like you do, like I haven't eaten in days. I also get...
  16. Thanks! I'm glad everyone is enjoying them They are like "real" breadsticks. I actually haven't been able to find a gluten free worcestershire sauce where I live. I have a really good recipe that uses worcestershire sauce so I am getting a friend who travels to the USA a lot to get some Lea & Perrins for me. Do you know of any safe brands in Canada...
  17. Is there anything at all that you ate or did different? Did you eat out or change products, even shampoo?

  19. Let us know what they say and if they found any gluten.
  20. wow! that's great
  21. no problem I've had this list since February and just noticed it was online last night, so I thought I'd share it with everyone. It is a great resource since some products are different in Canada than the US, like Lea and Perrins Worcester sauce for example.
  22. I often have to bring lunch and dinner. Here are some ideas: veggie salad and dressing (Kraft will clearly indicate gluten) pizza (Kinnickinick pizza crust) Thai kitchen gluten free instant dinners Open Original Shared Link Rice cakes and peanut butter fruit (I usually take apples, bananas, or oranges) Tinkyada pasta and Ragu sauce Leftovers (I sometimes...
  23. I personally would bring my own food to a fair. Fresh plain veggies and fruits would be safe though.

jrom987, I'm glad that you had a good experience
  25. That is great news I think it is great that your company is trying to learn more about celiac disease. Also, I think it was good that you tried to respond even if you didn't know for sure, at least you responded Sometimes companies just ignore us, that is worse in my opinion.
