  1. That's interesting...
  2. False negative blood tests are possible, for example, there are some celiacs that are deficient in the IGA antibodies and a gluten free diet will cause a false negative result.
  3. Yea, the gluten just may have taken awhile to cause a reaction. Sometimes I have symptoms and don't think anything of them until it gets bad, or until I notice my lovely chicken pox like bumps that I get...
  4. I'm not a lab tech or a doctor but from those results, I would guess that he could be in the beggining stages of celiac disease or he may have a gluten intolerance. The tTg test is highly specific for celiac disease and it was normal, but the fact that the other two tests were highly elevated indicates that there is a problem. If the doctors do not want to...
  5. Wow that must be a relief I'm glad she is fine.
  6. I've noticed that I get mild insomnia and anxiety when I am glutened sometimes. I find that the best thing to do is to try and think of something else. I highly doubt that you are going through menopause at 24. It is possible that you ate something that was contaminated. I've been glutened by the mysterious gluten one too many time lately tylenol is...
  7. same here, until I get my very own BBQ
  8. Tylenol is gluten-free Open Original Shared Link Scroll down to the bottem under Availability And Storage for the list of ingredients.
  9. aww congratulations! Too bad that of all places, the hospital couldn't get your meals right the first time
  10. That sounds like brain fog to me! My brain fog kind of feels like I am being partially sedated or like I have taken two tylenol 3's (I used to have to take them when I was younger and they'd have a "drug" effect on me). When I have brain fog, I get temporay ADD (I can't concentrate on things), I get "stupid", and I find myself staring at something for...
  11. There are actually new envelopes at the ATM's here which are lick free. You just flip the sticky part open and they stick! They are great
  12. Yea, I only noticed the bloating in my stomach.
  13. No problem keep us posted
  14. I'm glad that you are noticing improvements on the diet and quickly too. Bloating was one of my major symptoms and I too would look pregnant. I continued to get bloated while on the diet for awhile. I believe that the bloating stopped once my intestines healed.
  15. My best advice would be to ask which test was taken and if the tissue transglutamase test (tTg) was not taken, I would request it. This test is very specific for celiac disease.
  16. hmmm..... Leftovers Thai Kitchen: Noodle Carts: Pad Thai (my favorite), Thai Peanut, Roasted Garlic Instant Rice Noodle Bowls: Spring Onion, Roasted Garlic, Mushroom, Lemongrass & Chili Instant Rice Noodles: Garlic & Vegetable, Spring Onion, Lemongrass & Chili Open Original Shared Link Potato salad Tinkyada rice noodles...
  17. Which blood test did the doctor take, the tissue transglutamase test is highly specific for celiac disease. Also, was she on a gluten free diet when they took the blood? A gluten free diet can negatively affect the results. I think that you should definatley talk to your doctor about doing a biopsy. She could also have an intolerance to something else like...
  18. I'm also curious
  19. If his boodwork comes back great than he may have another allergy or intolerance. Dairy, soy, eggs, and nuts are fairly common.
  20. I have read here on the board that people have got negative results from enterolab. There is a really old thread on it. I have personally not used enterolab, but many others here on the board have. It appears from the enterolab results that you have a gluten and casein sensitivity, this could mean that you have celiac, or it could mean that you are just...
  21. Lots of things can contain vinegar like salad dressings, condiments like ketchup, ect. I just stick to products that I know are gluten-free like Kraft and Heinz gluten-free products.
  22. I have read on this board that Garnier Fructis products are gluten-free, but I've never personally contacted the company.
  23. 1 or 2 weeks on the diet would most likely not be enough time to notice major improvements like weight gain. For me, it took about 6 months on the diet to notice major improvements, and then a little over 1 year to feel almot 100% better. The biopsy should be fine as long as she is 100% sedated. I was partially sedated for mine (meaning I was fully aware...
  24. Anxiety is common. I find that hardly any medications help me with my symptoms (except gravel for nausea) so I either wait it out or try and think of something else. Some things that may help, maybe try going for a walk/bike ride, have a relaxing bath/shower, eat comfort food, watch a movie, listen to your favorite music, ect.
  25. Sorry you had to go through that I have had gluten reactions similar to what you explained. I also get dizzy, brain fog, insomnia (sometimes), nausea, diarrhea, mild-severe stomach pain (sometimes to the point where I cannot move because it hurts so bad), and I feel like I have the flu. I have never had any real problems with breathing but I can...
