  2. I had hair loss before I went on the gluten-free diet. Thankfully, the gluten-free diet stopped my hair loss. Hair loss is a sign of a lack of vitamins. You should definately get her checked for celiac.
  3. I'm sorry... maybe you could ask the pharmasist or the doctor for something to ease the pain for the next week. She should be able to start the diet the day of the biopsy, just make sure you ask the doctor.
  4. That would be great! Hope you have a fun trip.
  5. Yes! I know, I haven't heard anyone I know complain about it and I make it to eat with friends.
  6. Ok, it must be my internet connection (DSL) at home that makes it slow. I have never had problems with this site anywhere else and the other places where I use the internet have faster internet connections (T1 and high speed cable).
  7. I felt the same way last month after my first few games so I know what you mean. All I wanted to do was lay in bed the entire day after the game. I'm not like that anymore though. I also notied that it takes longer for me to get in shape than I used to. I started out walking 3-4 times a week and I would be out of breath just walking a little over a kilometer...
  8. Sometimes this site is really slow for me, but the rest of the internet is ok. I usually just wait a while and try again. If everything is slow, then you may have spy-ware. Have you updated your spyware programs recently? The way to check to see if you have spyware is to press ctrl-alt-delete on your keyboard, then click on processes on the Windows task...
  9. If being on the atkins diet made you feel better, I would say that at the least that you have a gluten or wheat sensitivity or intolerance. I think you should definatley ask for the celiac blood test panel, specifically, the tissue transglutamase test. The pure fact that you have anemia should be enough for the doctor to test for celiac. I know someone whose...
  10. Last year I was sick, but I have improved a lot since my diagnosis in March /04. Now, I wouldn't consider myself sick, just fragile to the slightest amount of gluten or dairy.
  11. Michelle, like the others have said maybe try and get away from it all for a little while on your days off, like taking a relaxing walk in a park or a trail depending on if you live in the city or not. I find that this helps me sometimes. And if your feeling up to it, exercise can be quite helpful. I know that I feel tons better after a good workout.
  12. Thanks Michelle, I have never got a severe reaction from the 100% tropicana juices, so hopefully that means that they are ok. Can that much gluten harm us? celiac3270, I'm assuming this is tropicana juice... and you've been drinking it with no problems at all? I'm just trying to decide if the 100% stuff is safe to be drinking or not after all...
  13. jaxonweb, I would ask for them to take 5+ biopsies. They should hopefully find damage with that many if you have celiac disease. You could also ask for the celiac blood test panel... Just make sure you are eating gluten before your tests or you could get false negative results.
  14. Michelle, Were you drinking the 100% tropicana juice or another kind that made you sick? I drink the 100% kind with only calcium added but now I am worried about cross contamination. I wonder if they make their juices on the same lines? I was drinking Tropicana because I thought it was ok. Anyway, does anyone know of any safe orange juice brands. I think...
  15. That's fine! Thanks Tiffany
  16. Tiffany, do you have any info on this? I am quite interested. Casein is the milk protein
  17. The only ingredinets are 100% orange juice and calcium citrate malate. I think that would be ok.
  18. I'm hoping the pure orange juice with only calcium added is gluten-free. There are no additives other than calcium. I haven't been reacting to it...
  19. I know! This site is great! There are so many knowledgeable and helpful people that take the time to help others. We need more people like this in the world
  20. Yes, it does sound like you have been glutened and it was probably the soy sauce in the chinese food. It takes me about 2 weeks to feel better after a contamination. Here is a list of things to look out for: https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-50105590050.a4
  21. glix?? is male I believe and largerman
  22. Hopefully we won't have to wait to much longer to get all of our energy back
  23. hmmm, I am not sure, I just tried and couldn't get it to work myself. I'm sure someone else knows
  24. yay, it worked! The photo is a little harder, I'll refer to an older thread, that has descriptions. Open Original Shared Link
