Here's an interesting note from the above website that helps explain why stress impacts our infections: -

Rachel, this link might be of interest because it mentions salicylate sensitivity. I found this family's story very interesting, and had never heard of Hughes' Syndrome. But a lot of this information makes sense and the site has a lot of good scientficness links. Open Original Shared Link Sherry -

They sometimes have a hard time with my blood draws too, especially if I am cold. I am also interested in the DVD Under Your Skin. Julie, I am curious about your Vit D level. I just read on the link Nora sent that if you are low on Vit D you should not be using cod liver oil that is too high in Vitamin A. Vit A antagonizes D apparently. Sherry -

Okay, everyone. I re-took the VCS test without wearing my left eye contacts and reading glasses on that side. The test is Negative. Total VCS score 84, Negative. Overall Indicator Score: 32. Left eye indicator score 15, negative and Right eye indicator score: 17 Negative. I did feel like I was guessing on some of them, but it did say to do what you... -

Nora, thanks so much for that link! Wow, that could also explain my glutathione deficiency. I am looking forward to finding out what my current levels of D are. Sherry -

Rachel, what we use all the time is Skype. If you both have internet access from your cell phones, that would work. Also he can call you using Skypeout from his computer to your cell phone and it should be about $.02 a minute. That's what I use to call my kids. Sherry -

Rachel, thanks for the update. Wow its a switch to be moving away from metals as the main issue, isn't it? Hope you can find some other directions very soon, and glad you have Dr. Amy looking for possible answers. Sherry -

Hi everyone, I came across this website protocol for CFIDS Open Original Shared Link and the zero-based protocol. What was fascinating to me was the first step is to supplement deficiencies, especially Vitamin D. That may need to be done slowly in some people. The target level of D is higher than most, at 108. But anyway, the protocol says this brings... -

Lynne, sorry I don't know. Kassandra, YAY on the sleep!!! I know the feeling about being in bed herxing, seems like the last three weeks I have hardly been out of bed. Sherry -
We've discussed this on the OMG thread and maybe some others too. My impression is that any situation that can cause leaky gut can lead to gluten intolerance. Gluten is one of the harder things to digest, and when leaky gut occurs it gets into the bloodstream and we develop antibodies to it. Lyme can attack any part of the body including the GI system...

ARCHIVED Genetic Test Please Help
mftnchn replied to dollamasgetceliac?'s topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You have one copy of the DQ2 celiac gene (most common one) which is all it takes to have the tendency toward this disease. I don't know about the others, but only DQ4 is NOT associated with celiac and you do not have that as the other gene. -
This is similar to what I get or used to get from lyme. Hope that is not what you have. Sherry

Kassandra, are you getting out in the sun during the day at all? One thought is to make sure you get sun, and then make sure at night the room is totally darkened. This is one part of dealing with jet leg, and is about melatonin levels... Just a wild idea. Rachel, I am really looking forward to hearing about your results. Sherry -
Could be, I think there is still a lot being discovered as there is a renewed interest after the discovery that so many people are deficient. "disorders Vitamin D deficiency could cause include heart disease, chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, hypertension, arthritis, depression, inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, PMS, Crohns Disease, cancer, MS and other autoimmune...

ARCHIVED Symptoms Only When I Over Indulge?
mftnchn replied to Krystens mummy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I agree, since you have strong family history. Otherwise you could check whether you have a wheat allergy instead of celiac. You are reporting ten days of symptoms a month, seems time to address it. -
ARCHIVED Endoscopy Results...please Help
mftnchn replied to KathleenBP's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
This looks pretty clear as a diagnosis. Because there are some other causes of villous atrophy, the pathology uses the term suggestive. But celiac is the most probable for sure especially with your positive dietary response. My concern about your doctor is that he really doesn't sound educated about celiac and you need someone who will follow you up... -

Kassandra, I wonder if you could schedule a late afternoon walk or something. It might not need to be vigorous exercise, but just a little more active to help your body clock? Thanks Andrea for the info. Sherry -

Re: digestive enzymes I take prescription pancreatic enzymes, 2 with each meal. The current ones are called pangestyme UL20. Then I take Carb Digest (Kirkman) and Digest Plus (Professional Formulas). So I am on a LOT of enzymes. Kassandra, have you had neurotransmitter levels done yet? I was surprised to get a huge help with sleeping from taking Travacor... -

Andrea, I think my current dentist did a panoramic view last winter, do you think that would be enough if I ask for copies? So that is how the diagnosis is made, just looking at the x-rays? Yes, I'd appreciate the names if you can find them. Portland would be much easier for me, but I will need to figure out the projected cost and whether I...
