  1. Kassandra, I am so sorry. I hope that soon he will be much better.
  2. Sweetfudge, if they didn't get it the first time (6 weeks of treatment right after the tick bite) it becomes chronic. After that, it can be a long battle. Relapses are very very common because most doctors undertreat. Digestive problems can be a major symptom. See the symptom list at the beginning of the thread for some idea of how this can present.
  3. The website doesn't say gluten-free, and I notice they serve sandwiches and stuff. So what's the best way to arrange a meal? I am gluten-free as well as milk and soy free.
  4. Thanks for asking this. In a couple of days, I am going back home to the USA for 2.5 months from where I live overseas. Here I can't eat out, but my social obligations are more minimal. When I get to the USA I am thrust into a lot of social situations and obligations, it is going to be awkward I am afraid. I appreciated people's input. I am also GFCFSF...
  5. Donna, that massage sounds great. I wish I could get that!
  6. Kassandra, I've never had that reaction to Ambien, either. Just the slight grogginess, unsteadyness if I get up to the bathroom not too long afterward. Also I don't get such an immediate response. You have an epi-pen, right? I get into bed right away when I take my Ambien, sometimes even before I take it. A lot of times I don't take it until the...
  7. Paula, I put myself in the probable celiac category. Because of being overseas I didn't have the biopsy, just went to the diet after Enterolab positives across the board (plus double DQ2 genes). Also the GFCFSF diet is the most significant change I've made in treatment over the past year. When my lyme recurred, I was back on the same meds I had been on...
  8. Thanks, Andrea. I'll check and try to put a few more in. Some I have only have a few of, though. My goal is to get through my work papers and health papers, etc tomorrow, that's the biggest job left to finish regarding my packing. Then, I'll work further on the stuff for Dr. E, and try to get my head organized. If I have it well written out, I should...
  9. Carla, thanks for the info, very helpful. I do generally feel well. However, I have these unpredictable dips which are very hard to trace as there seem to be many factors. The last one was 3 weeks...very frustrating. This is what I really want to figure out and address, and also, I don't want to lose ground again in the lyme fight. My relapses...
  10. Jin, I agree about the cockroaches. I have tested very allergic to them, but have been able to get it in my allergy shot which helps. Also when they die, they give off a horrible odor. Where they have been living often looks like a war zone too.
  11. Andrea, I am looking forward to a thorough appointment with Dr. E, just hope I can be organized enough to tell her everything I need to, and get tested what I need to. Is a few pills enough of something she needs to test? Hope I am not too jet lagged to focus...I'll need to borrow my DH's MP4 and record everything.
  12. Rachel, Julie, others, thanks for your thoughts on the weight. The inflammation and edema does make a lot of sense. I know though, it is important I get off sugar. I have to get off and stay off pretty much completely. It doesn't work too well for me to eat it occasionally--I immediately "fall off the wagon" so to speak. But I am not going to keep...
  13. Julie, yes, my doctor thinks the problem with my liver enzymes is antibiotics/antifungals, and now since being only on Zithromax, there is improvement. I'll look forward to hearing what your doctor says about it. I am interested that slightly elevated enzymes are common with detox. Mine are only slightly elevated.
  14. Whoah! That book on Gua Shu at Amazon is really spendy! Elizabet, glad you are posting, and your English is great. Nice to reach around the world, I'm in China, by the way. Sherry
  15. Kassandra, it is so great to see more and more good news from you. Hang on for the herx from the babs, treatment, but after you get through some of that you'll start to see proof of getting better. You'll be off to college soon with high energy!! I had a post with response to several of you and lost it....bummed out. No time to redo right now....
  16. April, Honestly, it hurts much less than it looks. My friends tell me it only hurts in a area that needs it. I found some areas on my back it just felt firm and nice, other areas where I had problems felt quite sore. I just tried this morning on myself, looking at the picture on the site. I put olive oil on my thigh, and used the back side of a table...
  17. Carla, That is all helpful info, thanks. My relapses seem to be a combination of the immediate and longer term relapses. I don't always have the immediate relapse but sometimes I do. Last winter/spring was my longest time without relapse (4 mo), but I wasn't on anything to maintain other than transfer factor and samento, plus general support things...
  18. Open Original Shared Link Okay, one more link that tells more how to do it, and shows the areas and which direction to stroke. This looks like enough info to me that you could try it yourself. Of course you need someone to do it for you on your own back.
  19. Open Original Shared Link You can see and hear it on this video.
  20. My experience with gua sha has been quite positive overall. It is really amazing how much improvement there is in my skin's response. It shows me that while one time is beneficial, several once a week or so treatments could be better if there is evidence of problems. Here's a couple of sites about Chinese gua sha. Notice that this technique may impact...
  21. Hey, everyone. Okay I am curious. I have lost quite a bit of weight since going GFCFSF, yet am eating quite a bit, even starches and some sweets. (Trying to make that change, Donna, not doing too well yet!) I had a high malabsorption index last spring, and I know that I saw a piece of tapeworm awhile back. Now you would think....I would be thin...
  22. Actually it is on my list to discuss with my doctor. It may be necessity anyway given what's happened with my liver enzymes. I looked up Levaquin (that's what you took for Bart, right?) and it looks like it may be too hard on my liver. I'll see what Dr. E. finds, and what my LLMD then says. I wish I could know what your LLMD might say about my case...
  23. Kassandra, I don't know. Does their website say?
  24. Carla, this is so FANTASTIC!!! I hope this will eventually be me! Sherry
  25. April, this sounds thorough and makes sense, weird about him not knowing about candida though. Perhaps the doctor could prioritize the testing and you could do a bit at a time? No insurance coverage of any of it?
