ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
mftnchn replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yes, Jin there is a lot of pollution here. That's one reason I live where I do because it is a lot better here. I do travel into the pollution though several days a month. I boil and brita filter my water though I have also wondered about water here. I'd be interested in what you find out about copper. I don't have any of those symptoms though. I... -

Yes this is the same brand we called about. I kept the buckwheat and corn ones, but due to CC issues I need to wait until I am totally clear of symptoms to try them. I do suspect cc issues will be there to some degree. The company that I bought my rice flour from makes black rice noodles, at least they showed me at the time. But it isn't sold locally... -

We found something similar. However, one of them said "millet" in English but Chinese said "wheat." We called the company and it does have wheat in it. Also this company told us the noodles are made on the same machine/equipment but cleaned in between. So cross contamination is likely an issue. You might let me know the brand and I'll check mine... -

Thanks, I appreciate that. Hmm. Interesting. Yes, the former vitamin I was taking had copper in it. I am no longer on that, and I think that was one of the reasons. What I am on now has more selenium, no copper, less molybdenum. I know that I asked my doctor at one time about the copper, and I can't remember too much what he said. I... -

Yes, provoked urine tests. I have had them done every couple of years I think. At one point the mercury increased, maybe in 2004 was the high point. I guess I don't have all the results. What I recall: initially in 2000 mercury was elevated, removed amalgams. Next test increased. Next test not much change. But yes, when I look at 2004 and 2007, there... -

Makes a lot of sense, Carla. This is very interesting Rachel. I would be interested in Dr Amy's impressions. Sherry -

I don't know, the jury is still out on this one. I'd say that old sensitivities are showing up. And the chemical sensitivites got worse for awhile, but are better now. Thinking back I had a significant exposure to cooking gas the middle of May which may have triggered the chemical sensitivity. (Takes 10 days for a chemical to get through your system.... -

Hi, I popped in here today and saw you thinking of me, LOL. Got out my Doctor's Data screens, and found a couple: In 2004: Mercury 6.6 (reference <4) (This is elevated, not highly elevated) Lead 8.8 (reference <18) Tin 11 (reference <10) Sulfer 460 (reference 280-1500) In Jan 2007: Bismuth 190 (<15) (I was taking bismuth... -
I taken shots for many years. Here's what I understand: Bests results for pollens, trees, grass, weeds. Dust and dander would not be quite as effective, but still very useful. (dust can have different things in it) Molds are a little less effective. There are so many and only a certain number are available for your mix. I have taken all of the...

ARCHIVED Whats Going On With Me!?
mftnchn replied to Hollylou42's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
From what I have read on this forum, even the 2.5 weeks of gluten-free before your blood tests could give you a negative. If you are going to do further tests with a GI, don't go gluten-free. Blood work and biopsy will likely be negative if you do. -
ARCHIVED What Do You Think Triggered Celiac For You?
mftnchn replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I haven't a clue. Allergies were diagnosed when I was about 28 but at the time the doctor was suspicious I had that problem from childhood, or at least high school. Lyme disease also probably dated from about the same time. This was shortly after my second pregnancy. Problems with fatigue occurred off and on, sometimes for a lengthy period. (jr hi, hi... -
ARCHIVED Clinique
mftnchn replied to SunnyDyRain's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have seen several references on this forum that dramatically different moisturizing lotion is gluten-free. I have been using it without obvious problems so far. So that matches this information Clinique just sent me. -
ARCHIVED Missed Diagnosis Or Still Recovering?
mftnchn replied to GFhopeful's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've read some threads here where people discuss the neurological symptoms, apparently they are more frequent with certain gene types, too. You might do a search and see what you can find. Since everything has improved, it seems to me that the best thing is to stick with what is working and see what unfolds. Remember it takes 1-2 years for the gut... -
ARCHIVED Clinique
mftnchn replied to SunnyDyRain's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Here's info I just got from Clinique today, it took weeks to get it not days. I put a star by the ones that have gluten.: *Long Pretty Lashes Mascara Black contains hydrolyzed wheat protein and sorbitan sesquioleate (corn). Long Last Lipstick Bamboo Pink Touch contains soy (lecithin) and corn (PEG-20 sorbitan beeswax). Touch Tint for Eyes 06 Nude... -
Hi Derek. After three months gluten-free your blood tests would not show celiac, so I am puzzled your doctor did that and then said you did not have it. It sounds to me like you have a doctor that isn't all that informed about celiac. About getting worse, there are several people here who have talked about that. Hopefully others will respond. I am...

ARCHIVED Old-timers Help! Reacting Again!
mftnchn replied to oceangirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Wow, you are in a lyme endemic area, I would agree absolutely that should be ruled out. There are enough of us around with both lyme and celiac that might be helpful to you if you do have that. -

Yes, the joys of being both a lymie and gluten sensitive. -
I am a bit over 2 months Gluten-free Casein-free. My skin is more oily right now, and several breakouts which I haven't had for years.

ARCHIVED Unmasking After gluten-free, First Month To 6 Weeks?
mftnchn replied to mftnchn's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Okay thanks for the input. The retracing idea does make sense as a possibility. I have a phone appointment with my allergist later this week, and will see if he has any ideas. Otherwise will hang in there. I am about 9-10 weeks into Gluten-free Casein-free at this point. Had one relatively good week the first week of June and not one good day since.... -

I also discovered that the coffee still coats the inside a bit. So every few times I rub the sides of the bag together really good, and work my way down the tube rubbing it hard between my fingers. I had discovered that after a while there was a build up of residue inside and it would come out in little chunks when rinsing the bag. If I do the rubbing... -

Thanks! I know where Nick's Mart is, I'll check it out. The organic foods shop in my neighborhood called me today and and have been able to get wheat-free soy sauce for me! It will be in on Wednesday. She said it comes from the USA. Expensive, but wow, if I can get it locally that will be great. She also offered to look for anything else that I... -
ARCHIVED Unmasking After gluten-free, First Month To 6 Weeks?
mftnchn replied to mftnchn's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I haven't had the blood work or biopsy because I am in China, got the enterolab results after I returned here. (work here 10 months of the year). My allergist and LLMD both concur that I should be Gluten-free Casein-free. So I don't have a clear diagnosis but am working from the assumption of celiac. -

Thanks, I looked that up, as I had never heard of it. I wonder how long it lasts though? This sounds a bit like me but I worry that its not all just the healing process. I searched for this on google in regard to celiac but didn't find anything. Seems like on this forum I have read posts about other food insensitivities becoming more clear after going... -
ARCHIVED Clinique

I'm working through the list of Clinique products I have, and have been trying to answers from the company. I'll post more when I know. I've written two emails and no answers yet. Currently I am using facial soap mild, clarifying 1, foundation, make-up remover, eye make-up remover, tint for eyes and blusher that are gluten free as best as I can determine...
