  1. You have to sleep it is vital for your health and emotional well being. Have you mentioned this to your doctor? You may need to adjust your Thyroid meds or the time you take them. Don't know if they might be contributing as I don't know much about thyroid issues. You might also want to ask for a sleep aid to use on a temp basis. I resisted them for a long...
  2. It does sound like you may have been CC'd. If it started after you had the scope it is possible there was something in the prep that got you. I got glutened badly once by a prep, sorry I don't remember which one, but the next scope I got I called the company that made the prep (it was a different one) and they told me to leave the powdered flavoring out of...
  3. I don't get as many neuro symptoms as I used to so now my symptoms are mostly GI related. Even after 9 years at this I sometimes make a mistake. Like earlier this week. I will bloat for a day or two and have severe stomach pain. Then the D hits, usually at night and that will last for anywhere from 3 to 24 hours and that is then followed by bleeding for...
  4. I don't know if they are in the places you are going but if a Wegmans is near they label all their gluten free store brand items with a Circle G and I have never had an issue with any of their stuff. Thai Kitchen noodles are a staple at my house. You can find them in the Oriental foods section in a lot of places. Kraft and Unilever products are well labeled...
  5. Celiac usually requires a trigger which could have been the 4 stressful events you suffered right before you symptoms got pronounced. For some women childbirth is a trigger and for some of us it is an illness. Some of us never figure out the trigger. Since celiac tends to have been underdiagnosed you could well have celiacs in your family and not realize...
  6. Congratulations!!!! The world sure can use more people educated in both nutrition and celiac. Best of luck to you.
  7. Well we all know what you get if you turn the word dog around. If a door closes a window opens as they say.
  8. He is built like a barrel. You should see him trying to clean his tail. It just can't be done but it is great fun to watch him try. Funny thing is he eats less than either of the other kitties.
  9. I bet by Christmas she won't able to pry that cat from your arms... "Here she comes, quick go hide the cat!!!!..."Uh he ran away and don't go into the back bedroom with the four locks on the door oh and that meowing sound is a recording we got to make the mice think we have a cat. Ignore it" Maggie is settling in well. She hasn't had a single accident...
  10. We got through the first night. She will be tethered to me until the older cats get used to a new face in the family. She needs a crate for her safety right now if I am not home and to get her used to it for traveling. Still plan on visiting the kids but she will be 'surprise' who goes with me. She may already be crate trained but if not we can put up with...
  11. Yep I agree. Personally I can't tolerate Rice Dream but am lucky since I have Wegmans in town and their store brand works well for me.
  12. She seems to like Maggie. I never thouht such a short dog could jump so high! I thought she might have trouble with stairs but she can even jump up on the bed with no problems at all.
  13. There has been a bit of a bright ending to all this pain. As I mentioned in an earlier post I have been visiting shelters all week, walking and petting the animals there. There have been some really beautiful dogs and kitties that I find hard to believe anyone could give up or abandon but none that gave that special tug on the heart. I stopped in one late...
  14. The response from my tribe has been overwhelming and has helped so much. I got a very sweet message from my DS yesterday. Since I know he couldn't stand my little dog (he is very sensitive to odors and hates dog smell) it meant a lot to me. The anger that was so obvious in my first post has resolved and I was able to eat yesterday without sobbing. In my...
  15. No soy and corn would not show up on a celiac panel. Some folks antibodies can take a while to go down even gluten free. Just continue to be careful and consider whether you might have other intolerances. Soy and dairy are both real common it seems. The best way to tell, IMHO if you are having issues with other stuff is to eliminate it and see if you feel...
  16. How were you diagnosed with MS? Did you have a spinal tap that was positive for it or did they diagnose based on symptoms or a previous MRI that showed white lesions? If you were diagnosed with a positive spinal tap with MS then as far as I know you unfortunately have MS. MS isn't always a disease that has constant symptoms though so perhaps it could be in...
  17. I use those and the broths a lot. I like them. It was nice to have a tuna noodle casserole again.
  18. I can't answer as to the gluten issue. Perhaps you could call the maker and find out as different brands might have different levels of safety. Do you have DH, the skin form of celiac where you get itchy blisters? If you do Nori would be something to avoid until you have fully healed as iodine will keep antibodies active in the skin.
  19. Before you try this can you get a consult with a PT? They could advise you on whether it might be something that would help and make sure you know how and how long to use it. Something else that may help is sublingual B12. I don't know if you have had the levels checked but often blood levels read higher than they really are. B12 is not a vitamin you can...
  20. I had to smile when I read this question. Pooh Bear was know as Poo Pet for the first couple years of his life. Why, well he was a cast-off (defective jaw) from a puppy mill. He was 4 or 5 months old when we got him and saved him from possibly being euthanized. Because he had spent all his life in a cage he was very hard to housebreak. It took a full 2 years...
  21. It sounds more to me like you may have been glutened or you may have another intolerance. Soy is a big problem for me, gluten gives me D but soy binds me and aggravates what hemmies I have left. I had bad hemmies before diagnosis but by my over 50 colonoscopy they, as well as my diverticuli, had disappeared. Hopefully the same will happen for you but it takes...
  22. While it never gave me vivid dreams it did make it very hard to sleep if I took it later in the day. Do you take it early in the morning? That seemed to help for me.
  23. He is adorable! Is he a Jack Russel? If he is he must keep you running as they are such energetic little guys. I know I will eventually find another little best friend who needs me and until that time comes I will visit shelters and give a little love to the ones who are waiting for their forever homes. It helped a lot yesterday to visit and take a couple...
  24. I will never stop reaching out to my kids. I try not to call more than once a month because I know they are busy and they do eventually call me back. I think it is hard because we were so close when they were younger. It doesn't help that they both ignore their diagnosis but I don't mention anything about it anymore. It is a very taboo subject and is just...
