  1. It does make one wonder. The vaccine for cervical cancer is a vaccine for the HPV virus. Or rather for a couple of the strains of the HPV as there are more than just one. It is thought that the HPV virus is a contributing factor in the development of cervical cancer. It is however not the only cause of cervical cancer and selling it as a cancer 'vaccine'...
  2. Your poor thing you are really going through hell right now. Yes you could be celiac especially if you have other celiacs in the family. Have they done any blood testing for celiac? If they haven't call your doctor tommorrow and ask for the blood tests to be done. Do be aware that those and biopsies can have false negative results though. I really hate to...
  3. I was going to ask the same question about the iron. If your very low perhaps your GP could give you injections for a bit instead. It does take a while to heal. Make sure that you are taking all the precautions we need to take in our homes to prevent cross contamination, replacing scratched pans, toaster and wooden utensils, not sharing butter, nut butters...
  4. I think this is great advice. Some allergists will help with one. Mine did true allergy testing first then gave me a starting point. Without this wise doctor I would be dead by now as I show up false negative on celiac blood testing.
  5. I think CC is the stronger possiblity. You may want to consider having a gluten free home at least until you are well healed. There are many safe gluten-free snacks that the little ones can have like Snyders pretzels, gluten-free crackers or corn chips, fruit etc. It is hard to keep yourself safe with little ones getting crumbs all over the place. If it is...
  6. If you have postive blood work it is very likely you are celiac even if the biopsies are negative. In reality it doesn't really matter whether you are celiac or gluten intolerant you need to be just as strict with the diet either way.
  7. I hope they figure out what is going on for you. Are you gluten free? There are some of us who do better with no grains at all. If you are having difficulty with a no grain diet perhaps post asking others what they are eating and some may have suggestions for you. If there is anything we can help you with please do post again. I'm sorry you didn't get any...
  8. These would be out for me with the soy oil and soy sauce. Not that soy is for sure out for you. They also have a mix of ingredients that any one of them could be a problem for you at least until you heal. Or it could have been something that you ate yesterday or the day before as gluten reactions can be delayed. Have you changed out stuff in your kitchen...
  9. Glad your not concerned. Maybe you would like to convince the scar tissue from autoimmune destruction in my brain that was found on an MRI. Or perhaps you could convince my brother whose liver was destroyed by autoimmune activity by age 16...oh wait you can't he's dead.
  10. I believe Dove will clearly list gluten ingredients as will Suave at least here in the states don't know if it is different where you are. I use Garneir products they will also clearly list. You may also want to ask this question in the international section of the board and see if you can get some advice from folks in the area your in.
  11. As I think you have realized being 'sort of' gluten free isn't enough. Even at this late date you should let your professors know what is going on. I did the same thing last summer. I got hit with a glutening right before my finals. One of my professors gave me the option of skipping the final and going with my grades in the semester, taking the final as...
  12. If you get a medical MJ card you would, as far as I know, be able to grow a couple of plants for your own use. While it can help with symptoms you may find after you have been gluten free for a while you don't have the symptoms you need it for. You can't be tested for celiac if you are gluten free, but you don't need a doctors permission to be gluten free...
  13. In countries that routinely screen they do it at age 4 or 5 and again at puberty. If you think she may have issues after you get her tested again do a good strict trial on the diet. Be firm with the folks that may have sabotaged it before and make it clear if they want to see her without you present they have to adhere to your rules regarding what she can...
  14. So glad you found a solution that would work for both your feathered freind and for you!
  15. You may still be reacting to the gluten you had before you started the diet since you have only been gluten free for 4 days. It takes some time for the antibodies to leave our systems. Hang in there and hopefully you will be doing better soon.
  16. We will be happy to give you all the help and support you need. If you have any questions just ask. You may be a bit moody at first as some of us do go through withdrawl but it will pass. Hope your feeling better soon.
  17. Happy Birthday, a day late. Glad you were able to enjoy. I'll have to grab some of those next I shop as they sound really good.
  18. I said yes but I think it is more of an intolerance for me than an allergy. I eat a lot of fiber rich foods that don't give me an issue so in my case I don't think it is the fiber content. My body just doesn't like either of them.
  19. This is what I would suggest. I was never able to find gluten grain free food for my little parrot.
  20. With the DH that resolved pretty quick once I dropped iodine. It took a while for the lesions to heal but new outbreaks stopped. As far as my other recovery went it depended on the system. I haven't had a migraine since the day I went gluten free, unless glutened. My D stopped really quick, like within a couple weeks gluten-free. My sporatic severe stomach...
  21. Since I had, or for in some cases was thought to have, 11 out of the 14 diseases that you list I have to wonder if for some of us the root problem isn't the undiagnosed celiac. In my case the only one that remains is the osteoporosis. It is amazing how many body systems are affected by celiac when most doctors only associate it with GI distress. How many...
  22. Potato vodka will clearly say potato vodka on the label. There are some really good ones out there and they are usually top shelf brands. Not all of us have to avoid distilled gluten but I am someone who does.
  23. Please do not delete gluten from your diet until after your gluten related testing is done as the tests will always be negative if you do. They are checking for antibodies and if your not eating gluten you will not be producing antibodies. Your doctor can check for other issues without your being on gluten so you can drop gluten as soon as testing is done...
  24. Have you tried eliminating soy and dairy for a bit? I am now okay with most dairy but soy is out for me for ever. It gives me horrible stomach pain. The skin issue, is it a rash or just a general itchiness? If it is a rash you may have DH in which case eliminating iodine for a time is usually needed to clear it up.
  25. If you do make sure you let me know so we can have a visit in person. There are lots of great places to stay in all kinds of price ranges and we are 'wine country' with a lot of wineries and beautiful lakes and gorges. Real nice place to vacation. I think PF Changs may have an on line menu but if they don't you should have at least some choices when you...
