  1. You'll feel even better once your not sick anymore. Welcome to the board. You have found a great place for info and support. Read as much as you can and ask any question you need to. I hope you are soon feeling fantastic but there may be some ups and downs at first. You should make sure you are taking a good gluten free vitamin and also a sublingual...
  2. I am praying the link to this article will work. If you scroll down to the part after CFS is highlighted they have a good amount of info and a case history. I am pasting a bit of it but there is also info on B12 that many might find of benefit. Open Original Shared Link "Even hidden food intolerances may contribute to the development of Alzheimer...
  3. Yep. For me leg pain and balance issues were along with DH were a primary presenting symptom. The pain was excrutiating at times and I was young so they told my Mom it was growing pains. I also lost my reflexes about this time which remained absent until 40 years later when I had been gluten-free for about 3 years. One of the things that will help until...
  4. The GI will want to do a endoscopic exam to see if your villi are destroyed yet. Be aware that not all GI doctors are as knowledgeable about celiac as we would like. You will need to get on the diet as soon as you are done with any testing YOU decide you need. There are many instances of false negatives on the biopsy so even if the GI says you are fine...
  5. I use the Pepto also, it works quickly and usually one dose will do it. I only need it now when glutened. Not all Tums are gluten free and they might relieve things for a bit only to have them return in force as a reaction to the gluten. Kind of insures we keep popping the things. I would try the pepto first before anything.
  6. Happy Birthday I hope the day is full of fun and relaxation
  7. There are many juices that have gluten added to the juice, so that could have been it but my money would be on the Cheetos. Eating those is like playing roulette for me. One time they are fine another they make me sick for a week. You also may be more sensitive to CC as time goes by and your body gets to feel what it is like to not be in constant antibody...
  8. Not a scientist but I agree, it is not that the sanitizers are increasing resistance but people are using them to replace handwashing. They should never be used as a replacement for handwashing if eating is going to take place. They don't clean like good old soap and water but they get used as a replacement for good sanitary procedures. These products...
  9. I don't know if this is gluten free but I do know that is a form of prozac. Be very careful if you do decide to use this product. Celiacs can have some very unexpected effects from this type of med. Both of my children have taken this product and one started cutting and became suicidal and the other became clearly psychotic and would have taken others...
  10. I totally agree with this. I do not think it is a coincidence that now that these products have gotten so popular we are seeing outbreaks of MRSA. I used to work in a school system and have seen teachers use these things then hand out treats instead of sending the kids to wash their hands. I also am sensitive to gluten grain alcohols and find that putting...
  11. Do you use panty liners or scented products in that area? I find I break out when I use a panty liner or pad. Gluten took away my periods but I would use them for continence issues when I was first diagnosed and noticed I broke out after using them. Using unscented products has helped a bit.
  12. How long have you been gluten free? And are you having accidental glutenings? Gluten can be a very neurotoxic substance and in addition to the withdrawl that we have to go through even small amounts can reactivate the depression and anxiety that is caused by gluten. Be sure to check your meds and toiletries for gluten and add a sublingual B12 to your...
  13. Last time I checked the newer labels of Beano state that it contains wheat. The old labels did not have this warning. This is from their website: I tried to give a link but the site will not let me, it keeps inserting 'lame advertisement' so I have pasted what it said. Does Beano
  14. One more note on the kegels, if you can possibly get a referral to a PT for a consult they can show you how to do them properly. I had been doing them for years and years but it wasn't until I was totally incontinent and went to a PT that I found out I was doing them wrong. She did say that that was common. If you can't get to see a PT the best way to...
  15. The best way to go gluten free at first is to eat whole natually gluten free foods as much as possible. Meats, veggies, fruits, nuts, eggs, rice, beans, etc that are as minimally processed as possible are your best bet. Many of us are very sensitive to crosscontamination from nongluten free items that are processed in the same plants as gluten free stuff...
  16. Thanks for the link, I am a firm believer in acupuncture myself. It helped me a lot prediagnosis.
  17. I get this effect also. Gluten can impact the kidneys and I also throw protein as well as blood at times. Your not alone in that effect. Your other symptoms really sound like celiac if I was you I would give the diet a good strict try. You have come to a good place for info and support. Ask any thing you feel you need to and someone will likely have...
  18. I am so sorry to hear this. You are all still in my prayers daily.
  19. In addition to the great advice you have already gotten make sure that they check your blood sugar. Hopefully this is being done on everytime you see the doctor but with the craving for sweets I would ask to make sure on Monday when you call and ask to be seen ASAP. Make sure they do an A1C in addition to testing fasting sugar. With you sleep eating your...
  20. My son had an epiphany of sorts a couple of months ago. I don't really understand how or why it happened but one night he had some kind of an experience that seems to have changed him totally. I was actually worried at first because it just didn't seem I was talking to my boy. He is so bright, peaceful and full of hope for his future. He has even asked...
  21. Yes it is possible. It is also possible that you have healed any damage you did have and that it will take a bit for any symptoms to show up. You also may have an 'unusual' presentation with organs other than the gut being effected. Gluten can effect the skin, joints, growth, brain function etc. long before GI symptoms show up. Also if you are a teen...
  22. Glad your sticking with the diet. You may find you can cancel that appointment that you need to wait a few months for. Going gluten-free is not going to effect the outcome of those tests or any others except the ones specifically for celiac. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the diet makes the appointment unneccessary, while it is a pain in the butt...
  23. It does appear that the capsules are. I found this link which may be helpful to you. Edit: this is a medscape list so you have to register but I found the link readily on google but it is too long to cut and paste Open Original Shared Link One of the best ways to find out is to put the med and the word gluten into google. Many times the companies...
  24. Just don't swallow the dot for 30 seconds. You may want to try putting it between your cheek and gum instead of under your tongue and right before you take it take a good drink of water. That will make your mouth moist and help it disolve faster. It should help you a great a deal and if you really can't stand that brand try another. Country Life makes...
  25. Thanks for posting these. Whoever takes the photos, (and I am guessing Mom since she is only in one pic), has a great eye. He looks big and healthy congratulations.
