ARCHIVED Fecal Incontinence And Gi/celiac
Ridgewalker replied to AliB's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Oh my goodness! If I had a nickel for every time Lucas has said to me, "I didn't know I had to go," or "I didn't know the poop was there," I would be a rich woman!!! And we would ask him, bewildered, "How can you possibly not know you've pooped?" I have to say, Connor sounds so much like Lucas, I'm amazed!!! The house smelling like poop... yes, I've... -

Gawd.... so this week it was Ezra's turn for a check-up, and he had 4 immunizations Tuesday. Yesterday he woke up with a badly swollen leg, red lump a little smaller than the diameter of a baseball. This morning it was TWICE that size, and growing. They'd told me to expect some redness and swelling in that leg from the tetanus shot, but when it got... -

Susie, what dose are you on now? I was on 75 mg daily, and as you know I recently had to increase it. I'm at 150 mg daily now, and feeling much better. I had been on 150 before, and eventually dropped it down. I had been at 75 for about a year and a half. I definitely think these things have to be adjusted every so often, whether it be dosage or trying... -
ARCHIVED Pain In The Bottom Of My Feet- Owwww
Ridgewalker posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
This might be kind of random, but... The past month or so I've been having hideous stabbing pain in the bottoms of my feet!!! It's right where the back of the arch meets the beginning of my heel, in both feet, but much worse in the right. Does anybody know what the heck this is??? It's gotten so bad, it makes me walk funny. My right foot now hurts... -

Bowel incontinence was actually THE major symptom that made me suspect my older son, Lucas, had Celiac. At age 6, he was still having poopy accidents. He never had a period in time where he consistently pooped in the potty. I believe he had Celiac for years before we figured it out. The accidents were usually small amounts, several times a day. In hindsight... -

Oh... mah... GAH! JULIE we went through the EXACT same experience in the 80s!!! Same method, same reaction from the hairdresser, and same end result. No worky. BTW Janet, I meant to tell you when you mentioned this before, that I'm your chapstick sista. That's all I wear and I never leave home without it. -

Curly haired and right handed, here-- strongly-- right armed, right legged, and definitely right eared! Both of my boys are right handed, but Brian started out as a leftie... he saw all the other five-year-olds writing with their right hands, though, and switched! -

The kids are playing outside. Lucas just came in a few minutes ago, and said something that sounded rather odd, but I'm beginning to expect such escapades where his brother is concerned... Lucas: Mom? I need the scissors. Me: Uh, no. Why? Lucas: Because Ezra's hair is stuck in the birdseed feeder wire thing. Me: So I went outside, and sure... -

I have to put 1/2 a bowl of water down for Lilo at a time.. Otherwise, she'll slug it down and then barph it back up. Poor Jen! BTW... I read that last sentence THREE times before I saw the word "in." I just couldn't figure out how "hopefully I will poop later" fit in with the rest of the post. You'd think I'd know by now. -

HEINOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can people like that sleep at night?! Umm, Nikki, my dear friend, when you say you had your three children "the old fashioned way," do you mean, no epidural?! OWIE! I could not handle that. I wanted my epidural. Actually, I tended to want it when I was about 8 months along. Moonpies!!! Ohhhhh, how I loved Moonpies... -
ARCHIVED Ketchup Questions
Ridgewalker replied to Rondar2001's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Welcome to the forum! About the ketchup... Of all things, what a random thing to warn about. Hunts ketchup is NOT safe. Heinz and Wal-mart brand ARE safe. Don't panic! It's going to seem difficult and overwhelming at first, but I promise you, this diet gets easier with time. A couple highlights... Read the ingredients on EVERYTHING... -

She's a dachsund. Hard to tell sizes in a little avatar. She is gorgeous, though! Susie! Methinks it's the roids getting in the way of your mojo. How long do you have to stay on them? -

That pic is actually from last year. She is pregnant again right now and due in a few weeks. The pic in my av was taken just a couple days before she gave birth, and yeah she couldn't walk much at that point. Her belly dragged the ground. My friend is a small breeder, and she dotes on that dog like you wouldn't believe. Don't worry she gets carried everywhere... -

OH NO SHE DIDN'T!!!! Omg, that's so cold, you gotta laugh. Sounds like something Ezra would say. I have to admit, I am surprised that your son didn't have a growth spurt after going gluten-free. I really thought he would. Keep us updated! -

North Carolina and Virginia were both hit really hard last night. We've been watching the coverage, both local and on MSNBC, and I cannot believe how freaking lucky we are. There were two tornadoes on either side of us, one really close, but we got missed. If anyone watches MSNBC, when they show the aerial footage of Greensboro, that's the section that... -

I still totally have that look. I call it "Fish Belly Legs." Mine is: "Sarah, what you'd eat if you lived on Mars." Thanks again for all the birthday wishes, you guys!!! Had a pretty good day, although last night was crazy. Our whole area (and I'm talking like 6 counties) got whomped with tornadoes last night!!! We don't... -

Yeah, I do think she's trying to cash in a bit too much. But I still have a soft spot in my heart for Shari Lieberman, because her book was the first thing I read about Celiac and GI... and it made me want to research and find out more. She also has info about stool testing, which I think is a good thing. -

She's laying in some kinda special box... What did my friend call it... Umm, some kind of functional name, like Birthing Kennel??? Something like that. Yeah, she looks like she swallowed a balloon. That's going to have me giggling all night!
