  1. I'm not a teen (sorry) but I can sooo relate! The office where I pay my phone bill every month is actually attached to a Subway, and the SMELL... Omg... it's torture. I haven't found a bread recipe that is anywhere near as good as Subway... But pizza and brownies, I totally do! For brownies, I think the two best mixes are Gluten Free Pantry, and Pamela...
  2. Kristen's Mummy, Good for you on trying her out on a gluten-free diet! And YAY that her growth has improved! I agree with Ursa 100% (as usual!) I thought I'd also add that while only a couple genes are accepted in the United States as being Celiac genes, there are something like 9 or 10 that are acknowledged Celiac genes in some other countries. ...
  3. HI TOM!!!!!!!! I don't wanna talk about today's smokin'. Yesterday was fantastic though!!! And tomorrow's a new day, right??? Don't worry, I'm gonna get this DONE, baby. (Today has been rather stressful, and I've had a couple glasses of wine tonight.) Omg, Brian is a huuuuuuuuge Diana Krall fan. I think if he ever met her, I'd be forgotten...
  4. I'm not even sure you were finished editing your post, but I had to respond right away-- your post is sooooo familiar to me!!! This is very interesting to me, because both of my sons have several of your son's symptoms... But they resolved/improved on going gluten-free, and return when they are glutened. My son Lucas is 7 years old and still has...
  5. I use Firefox, too. I don't have a kitty, but my kids frequently to odd things to the computer.
  6. I am so with ya.
  7. Whoops, double post. How did that happen??? Vortex! Vortex!
  8. GAH!!! The same thing is happening to me! Just started yesterday I think. I have to scroll over a little every time a new page loads because the words run off on the right a little bit.
  9. Firstly, I second what happygirl suggested. It's what you need to do if you think that something else is going on on top of the Celiac. Having said that, is it possible that you're still getting gluten somewhere? You said you've done a lot of reading, so are you pretty familiar with common areas of-- * Cross contamination? (i.e. toasters, collanders...
  10. Congratulations of your pregnancy! Celiac symptoms can be tied to hormonal changes. There is another member here who only HAS Celiac symptoms when she is pregnant. If you had a positive blood test, then you have Celiac. Have you tried gluten-free pretzels? They taste exactly like regular ones. Then there's fruit, veggies, gluten-free bars, cereal...
  11. I am so glad your daughter is doing and feeling better!!! But... Celiac can't be outgrown, and since you have it, and your daughter shows symptoms of it (including when she's accidentally glutened) there's really no reason to expect that she doesn't have Celiac Disease. He had no basis for telling you otherwise. Accidental glutenings do happen...
  12. Happy Birthday!!!
  13. Click here for some of those lists Stolly mentioned.
  14. Unfortunately, the nurse led you wrong. Cheerios are not gluten-free. Here are some of my kids' favorite gluten-free cereals: - Rice Chex! They have just recently become gluten-free, but check the box because some of the older shipments still have barley malt in them!!! - Trix - Cocoa Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles - Envirokids Gorilla Munch...
  15.  As always, the poop jokes have me in hysterics!!! Actually, my alarm clock is 9 minutes, too. I just hit it about 3 times. I have pondered the 9-minute question as well, and have decided it's because it takes an average of 1 minute for that heinous alarm sound to invade a person's sleep. So, combine the 1 minute, plus 9 minutes...
  16. Well, for the first time, I just got busted for over emoticonizing! How utterly style-cramping and expressiveness-squashing! HARUMPH! Thanks! Hey that's a good idea... Actually, I hit the snooze button for about 30 minutes anyway, lol ... So if I put the patch on the first time I hit it, then by the time I'm really awake, it'll be working. Perfect...
  17. NOW ya tell me!!! I put the first patch on last night, and Ho-lee crap, did I have some crazy dreams last night, one of them involving Patti, Emily, and myself getting a loft apartment together a la Friends. I'm not kidding, you guys are even in my dreams. Actually, the dreams didn't bother me, so much as the twitchy-ness. Restless legs, and whole-body...
  18. I have to admit, I hate it too! I totally see myself sometime in the future not minding the grays, but for now, uggghhh... And they won't lay down and behave properly, they have to sproing up every which way. I used Garnier Fructise Dark Golden Brown. I was a little nervous about the "golden"- like you, I tend to go reddish when I dye. In the end, it...
  19. You guys.... I have dye all over my head and it's looking a bit... light.
  20. Hee hee! I have a MySpace page, too. It's usually a wee bit out of date though, because as you say... I spend all my online time here. Welp, I am off to go color my hair. Nothing crazy, just covering a couple grays and the ever-lightening ends. My hair lightens at the ends all by itself, which is a constant aggravation to me. I think I'm going to...
  21. I really liked Brooke, David Cook, and Michael Johns last night. I actually thought it was one of Michael John's best performances. In fact, between his pretty face and the soulful performance, it kinda made me melt into a puddle of goo on the floor. I thought I was going to hate it last night-- I like Dolly Parton herself, but her music... not so much...
  22. I'm so glad your daughter and yourself are doing well!!! If you read the dates in my signature, you'll see that that's similar to how it happened with us too! Looking at the members on this forum, Celiac is apparently much more hereditary than doctors believe. I'm not sure about your son, but I would urge you to remember that not all Celiacs get diarrhea...
  23. I haven't read the new Humaworm thread yet, but I do remember Carla saying that the first few days made her feel pretty crappy. But then it got better. Maybe it is the Humaworm, and it'll start easing up in the next day or two!
