    You're right, they are toxic. I don't use them on eating or cooking surfaces, of course, and I also wash my hands after I use the wipes. The problem I have with using dish detergent is that I feel like it can miss germs, and is more likely to spread them around. But this is just my feeling-- I personally feel safer using the wipes.

    I really have to agree with the others who suggested going gluten-free, regardless of the negative biopsy. About the chicken germs.... I am with you!!!!!! But it's not worth forgoing fresh meat. Have you considered using gloves instead of your bare hands? You can get powder-free disposable latex gloves pretty cheap. And I keep Clorox wipes or Lysol...

    Rachel, *sigh* You are right, it would drive me crazy. Obviously, the last thing I'd want to do is give someone (who's already sick!) a brand new problem to worry about. Maybe I will call the Red Cross and see if they could use me to help pass out the donor books, and drinks and cookies.

    Also, Wal-mart's products will be labeled "gluten-free" if they are. I've found this helpful for some things. Their ketchup, soy-sauce, au gratin potatoes are all gluten-free.     I have done it two different ways- Sometimes I will mix and BAKE the crust, put it in a large-size ziploc bag, and freeze it. 1/2 cookie sheet size just fits in a gallon size ziploc bag.
