  1. Nope. T Marzetti's caramel dip is gluten free. We use it A LOT.
  2. Excellent! It is such a good feeling to know you're doing it right!! When my daughter's went from 100 to 7.6 I was practically in tears!
  3. I've only used it to make pancakes (I use milk instead of water in the recipe for extra fluff) and I use it for my banana bread recipe to replace not only the flour but the baking powder and baking soda instead. For example, the original recipe calls for 2 2/3 c flour + 1TBSP baking powder + 1TBSP baking soda (I think anyway). Since Pamela's has the...
  4. I love how y'all can read my mind. I've been thinking of making a gluten-free lasagna but didn't know the specifics. I like the no-boil method best. I think I'm gonna try that.
  5. There's some nasty sickness floating around these days. Both my kids have stuffy noses and my son still has the uberpoopies after about 5 days--the first 2 days with a low-grade fever. He is not Celiac. He just had a "bug." My daughter, who is Celiac, also had the uberpoopies, but only for about 2 days, no fever, and was not glutened.
  6. Please let us know how it turns out. I want a plan B in case the Whole Foods stuffing cubes aren't super great. I'm not much of a bread baker, but I will if I have to!
  7. Here is the recipe on the Whole Foods web site. I'm going to use their premade stuffing cubes. It sounds very promising! Stuffing Gluten-Free Serves 8
  8. I bought some Whole Goods gluten-free Bakehouse stuffing cubes and I'm doing a practice run this weekend with them. I'll report back. I'm bringing all the dressing for turkey day this year and everyone is eating gluten-free dressing. The meal is about 75% gluten free. We are eating at my FILs house so I'm a little nervous not getting to be in control but...
  9. If it helps any, my non-Celiac child has had awful poopies since last Friday. We call them the uberpoopies. Nothing solid has come out of that boy in almost a week. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
  10. Fantastic. I'm not going to tell my 10 year old it is "Dora" cereal, but I'm sure she'll be THRILLED.
  11. I think I'll try a better WalMart tonight. The one I went to last night didn't have much of anything. If not, I'll spring for the case. I realllly hope the kids like them.
  12. I sent feedback to them about the article: Hi there, I would like to comment about the following article on your Web site: Open Original Shared Link. Your expert claims that gluten-free costmetics and personal products are not necessary as part of a Celiac's gluten-free lifestyle. While some of the information in the article is true that gluten cannot...
  13. My hubby is exactly the opposite, thankfully. He is gluten-free-gung-ho! In fact, he experiences quite a bit of tummy trouble and I noticed since we made our house gluten-free that has decreased significantly. Plus, he has pointed out that when he does eat gluten, his poopies resemble what our daughter's used to be like. So, he is going to...
  14. Your doctor sounds retarded. Any chance you could find a different doctor with better knowledge before springing for an endoscopy? I'm not saying the endo isn't necessary, espec. if the medical diagnosis is important to you, but find someone who knows what they are talking about. Have you had the blood tests yet? You don't need a doctor's...
  15. I'm about to buy a case of them on Amazon. $26 but free shipping. I hope the kids like them! I bought Cocoa Comets at Whole Foods last night. The kids think they are so-so.
  16. I've been searching for the Dora Cinnamon Stars and Little Einsteins cereal and I can't find it anywhere!!! I've checked at King Soopers (Kroger), Safeway, Target, and one Walmart Supercenter. I live in CO so maybe they just aren't here yet, but I also couldn't find information about them on the GM web site either. If you buy these, where do you buy...
  17. If I could bottle your outlook and attitude and sell it to the masses, I'd be a very wealthy woman.
  18. We assure our daughter of this CONSTANTLY and are trying to set a good example of what someone who cares for her would be like. -Her home gets to be gluten free and a complete "safe" zone -Her daddy even only drinks gluten-free beer now so he can smooch our daughter with no worries We tell her that any boy who is worth anything won't hesitate...
  19. My daughter was smack-dab in the middle of the growth/weight charts for her age, and she was astronomically diagnosed as Celiac through the blood tests and biopsy. It probably isn't the dairy as the whole problem, though. Here's what might be happening: Villi are blunted due to Celiac Disease Cannot absorb calcium/vit d because of blunting You are...
  20. This is what I would try: INGREDIENTS: 2 1/2 c Pamela's Pancake Mix 1 teaspoon salt 4 eggs 1 1/4 cups white sugar 2/3 cup Sour Cream 1 cup milk 2 teaspoons gluten-free vanilla extract I had to modify a similar recipe for banana bread. Using Pamela's has never failed me (and I'm a total wreck in the kitchen). Plus, the sour cream seems to...
  21. Oh my gosh! So do I! Especially about college since I know my daughter wants to live out of state to go to college. She's only 10, so that's only 8 MORE YEARS!!! Thankfully, she'd like to go to college in NY so I feel better about that being a gluten-free-friendly place than just about anywhere from what I've heard.
  22. As far as I know, you're safe as long as you read the label on those cereals. Every now and again the formula will change and they will add in wheat starch or something, but it is always listed on the label. If the package you have or see in the store does not have wheat listed, then it isn't in there. I've never been brave enough to try those cereals...
  23. Maybe you could share what your typical foods are over a course of a few days and we could spot something suspect. Also, I'm guessing you live with your parents and I'm wondering if your whole house is free of gluten. If not, there's always risks of icky gluten getting into your food. Food is tricky. I hope you are feeling better soon.
  24. Wow! Thanks! That is exactly what I wanted to know!
  25. Do any of you worry about the chat features or anything? My husband and I are pretty strict about the "no chat" rule on the computer at our house. What is the web safety like? My daughter has 3 of them.
