  1. I love love love the Authentic Food$$$$ Fine Ground Brown Rice Flour . . . but boy i$ it pricey. If you go on their web $ite, you can do a $earch for local $tore$ that $ell their product in order to avoid the helaciou$ $hipping charge$. I've never $een it at Whole Food$ but that doe$n't mean that it'$ not at the one near you. I don't have a grit problem...
  2. Rache . . . what kinda bunny is that?? He's adorable, but in your av he looks like he's got cat ears. Book club here tonight. Should be cleanin' so this is the perfect place to come so that I don't get my cleaning done. Yeah . . . Haven't heard much about BE lately . . . what's up with that?
  3. We use the Ortega or the Old El Paso brand of seasoning . . . we've never had a problem with either.
  4. When you are ready for it to come down . . . I know people who can take care of that for you . . . Hell, you know people who can take care of that for you. PM Peoter and he can edit out the link (if it is past your editting window). BTW . . . did not realize this till now (even though it's in yer name, duh!!!), but I was in your neck of the woods...
  5. We've never had a problem with Junior Mints. For whatever reason, if the mints are a problem, then ditch the mints. Certainly take it out of the equation and see if her symptoms clear up. It may be something else in the mint ... it may be something else that she has eaten and the mints looked like the most likely candidate...it may be that she is still...
  6. Yep . . . but it certainly doesn't get the same kind of press. I think the body is starving for the nutrition that it can't absorb and keeps demanding food. An article here . . . https://www.celiac.com/articles/1033/1/Celiac-Disease-and-ObesityThere-is-a-Connection-by-Melissa-Croda-q/Page1.html
  7. Recieved today from Consumer Services: Dear ******, Thank you for contacting us about your Kingsford Regular Charcoal. We always appreciate hearing from our consumers. Our charcoal is gluten free. We use charred wood and a corn starch binder for our charcoal. Again, thank you for contacting us.
  8. My daughter was diagnosed with it at about the same time as she was diagnosed with celiac disease. Doc thought it was related. He put her on a med for a couple of months to help motility until she had a chance to heal. She has intermittent issues...when glutened and strangely enough about once a month around the same time which I think may be hormonal...
  9. I saw some similar info but was dated 2007 . . . I just sent an email off to the company to verify it was still valid. I'll let you know what I hear.
  10. . . . and good luck to Soph-Fee in her tournie as well.
  11. Sorry to hear the news Karenne. Glad the chocolate cure is helping . . . I know it helps me all the time . . . even when I don't need to be cured of anything. Good luck to ya, Knick . . . Can nae run anymore, me knees are about 50 years older than the rest of me body . . . perhaps if I ate more chocolate???
  12. Yes, my daughter had a prior positive blood test. The doctor that wanted to challenge her was the doc we went to for a second opinion (because we were in major denial). In addition, we went to him for a while after her original doctor moved away. He wanted to challenge her because he has a different testing/diagnosis protocol than the original doc. I...
  13. Kinnikinnick makes a product called S'moreables that are grahm-cracker-like. That's what I use when I need to make a Grahm cracker crust. I have also used the Midel Arrowroot cookies and those worked quite well, also.
  14. Love both those movies . . . My favourite scene from The Goonies is where Chunk is "confessing"
  15. Actually, Dr Oz is a real doctor. He's a heart specialist. He may be excellent in that field (I have no idea one way or another) but that does not make him an expert in any other. Shows five days a week and a variety of topics on every show means that there is a staff performing the research on these segments. Medical qualifications of the staff???? ...
  16. Only have a slightly relevent story to share . . . One of my daughter's docs wanted her to do a gluten challenge for two months. If symptoms returned prior to the end of the two months then the challenge was over and no blood test required...the return of the symptoms was diagnostic in itself. We did an accidental challenge when she had a product a school...
  17. I have never been a big fan of Dr. Oz . . . he tries to cover too many topics in one show and ends up doing a lousy job on all of them (IMO). I just have to bring up one interesting fact . . . don't know if the video is still around to prove it . . . A couple of years ago, he had Elizabeth Hasselbeck on to talk about Celiac Disease and promote her...
  18. Hmmmm . . . <looking left . . . looking right> . . . well apparently this is a good place to hide because no one is here.
  19. Good!!! . . . It was time for you to get some good news!! . . . Glad you like your oncologist. Good for you too . . . although, time for you to get rid of the swelling. Maybe things will improve now that the weather is finally turning around. Not sure why that would help, but it just seems like we all need an airing out and get some fresh air...
  20. Is Tony a 10 year old smarty-pants girl with curly blonde hair and glasses?
  21. You know they charge Hay-Nuss fees for suitcases over the weight limit . . . Lisa, I know you've lost a lot a weight but I'm guessing you're not under 50 pounds.
  22. I'll have to do it as I head out of the house . . . so I don't have to lie about not hearing it.
  23. All right . . . I'll give it a try . . . I'll throw in a full bottle of detergent with the next load . . . lid on the detergent, of course, we wouldn't want to have some sort of soapy flooding accident . . . nobody's close to a phlip, are they?
  24. Ummmm . . . busy, I guess . . . Smackl is transitioning to middle school. Lots of events in the schedule. Tomorrow they have what they call a "try on" . . . where any 5th grader can go over and try a couple of the instruments to see if they want to take band. Smackl has decided to try the trumpet, the viola, and the bassoon. I think he wants to try the...
