  1. This is destined to be my son. He just turned 4 and has become a very good liar. Dd, very bad liar, ds-totally believe what he says. Convinced my stepdad to come up to his room to see his new flatscreen... ...#1-like I'd buy the kid a flatscreen, #2-I can see it now, he's a teenager, luring girls into his room to see his "big-screen".....can you say JUVIE...
  2. Wowza, I've been gone too long! Missed a lot I guess! Inlaws have finally left, migraine has finally left, dd starts school tomorrow, ds starts pre-school today, I need a drink and it's only 0730... I'm thinkin a vodka and vodka sounds AMAZIN!!! Maybe once kiddo gets off to school in the morning, I shall start drinking myself into oblivion, or shop...
  3. I use Pamels's pancake and baking mix. It makes AMAZING waffles!!
  4. Yes and Yes. My son was having the same problems about a year ago. I had to sit down with the teachers and the preschool director and had a "come to Jesus" talk with them. I told them if they didn't make some major changes, I would pull him out and take him somewhere else. I wasn't about to pay for private preschool if they weren't going to take care...
  5. I agree! Stay away from it!!
  6. My dd's birthday party is tomorrow. In an attempt to get most everything completed for her requested Italian feast and petit fours, I made the lasagna, 75 mini cakes (! ! !) and 3 loaves of garlic rosemary bread. That bread had 2 cups of whole garlic cloves! In the middle of it all, my best friend calls, there's a family emergency and needs me to watch...
  7. Bob's RedMill is what we buy. They are the cheapest of our options here, but the mill is here in town...

  9. I'm not aware of the company, but if they state that there could be CC because of wheat containing ingredients, I wouldn't take a chance...
  10. My last one was good, the gal actually re-took the photo 3x to get a good one. They weren't very busy that day Maybe I should be offended that she wanted to re-take it 3x....
  11. Snickers, M&M's, Reeses PB cups, Butterfinger (I think), Dove---but read labels!!!

  13. Us too and my dd is super sensitive.
  14. It can't hurt, but before you do, you might want to ask his doctor to run a celiac panel on him before changing his diet. On the other hand, my son's panel was negative but was diagnosed from his extremely positive dietary response. I'm not sure I'm helping too much
  15. Really good!! Also the Rice Works sea salt chips are AMAZING with hummus
  16. Ours is such a popular place that the line is usually wrapped around the entire restaurant. They are sooo busy all the time that I wouldn't take a chance mainly because their attention to details can't possibly be enough. There are a few fast food chains here that we visit occasionally and we only go because their grills and prep stations are in separate...
  17. I've been there. I'm not celiac, but I would NEVER allow my kids to eat there. WAAAYYY too dangerous as far as CC goes. That's just my 2 cents.
  18. I think the biggest thing when moving your kids to a gluten-free life, is to stay positive and focus on all the foods they can have and not what they can't. You can make french fries and chicken nuggets at home--let them help, kids usually love to help in the kitchen. These are all still options (check ingredient labels) Yogurt Raisins Pudding cups...
  19. I buy the uncured, gluten-free container at Trader Jo's for the hubby....
  20. You preggers? I rarely eat meat and when I do, it's fish. I think since it's been so long that I've eaten much meat, it NEVER smells good to me. I'm basically an ovo-vegetarian, (occasional fish too), but my kids and dh love steak. I had to hold my breath while I put it in the oven last night because the smell makes me want to vomit! Don't know...
  21. I can't agree 100%, because anything that has to do with sex, they notice--everything else, not so much I think if you needed to get attention you just say "wanna have sex" then when they look up and say "what?" You say, " please take out the trash"
  22. This is one of my fav's: throw in 1 big pork roast and a bottle of gluten-free root beer cook for 4-5 hrs on high Drain the root beer shred pork with 2 forks return back to crockpot dump in bottle of Baby Rays BBQ sauce Cook 1 more hour Serve over rice or gluten-free buns/toast
  23. Poor guy! I feel your pain. Ours is usually lower gi with both kids. I will sometimes give immodium to alleviate the d, and I try to feed them binding foods and drink lots of water.
  24. My opinion would be yes. My children are the ones with Celiac, and I use all gluten-free makeup, soaps, shampoos etc... to make sure I don't get them sick. All it would take is for my dd to kiss my cheek, get non-gluten-free foundation on her lips and she'd be sick for days. I take no chances
  25. Ahhh, it's all makin cents now. A tall Swede wif large thumbs woke me at 0630 with the promise of a beautiful view if I followed him out the front door-now who woodnt follow a tall Swede wif large thumbs??? I followed and he took me on a beeeutiphul jaunt to the riverfront. Just as I was watchin a sailboat and injoyin my morn' that bastard turned me around...
