  1. The only thing I see wrong with what you're saying is that someone can't "get" Celiac Disease. The rest is right on though.
  2. That is awful that you got sick and with how fast it hit you it had to be the pizza. You can see the whole kitchen and when I was there it did not have flour all over like when you were there. It was actually pretty clean and they were not at all busy. I talked to the man working about how serious I was about not getting sick and he firmly told me that...
  3. You can't expect less than an hour to pass and have a lot of people resond. Clicking a topic doesn't mean someone has actually read it. It's night time and it will be awhile until you get a lot of answers.
  4. I am a potter (among other things) and attended a convention (N.C.E.C.A.) for potters and such in Portland, Oregon this week. I had looked into a few places to eat and on Open Original Shared Link I found some restaurants. I also found gluten-free food at other places unexpectedly. Also, I am a vegetarian, so, my choices reflect that. SAFEWAY- (Grocery...
  5. DH can also can stand for Dermatitis Herpetiformis. There is a secion on this message board for it, too.
  6. March is at a different place. I won't be going but a lot will, I think. There are seperate checks, yes.
  7. I don't think that can possibly be a law. You should have spoken to a manager an complained.
  8. The lactaid pills work for lots of things with me but not for milk nor cheese. The Lavatid milk doesn't work with me, either.
  9. I think it is essential to be 100% gluten-free. A lot of people, including myself, also get sesntive to gluten once it has been out of their diet and can have allergic reactions to it.
  10. The board was here a long time but very different when I first joined. When it was changed to how it is today everyone had to re-sign up.
  11. Native Americans were not hunter-gathering bands! The world supported 3-4 million hunter-gatherers up until 10,000 years ago when agriculture started. They did not have wars and even came together to hunt large herds if the occasion came about. There have not been any true hunting and gathering bands for a long time. Outside contact from any agricultural...
  12. Well, you are very wrong about hunter-gatherer bands. They did not have wars and weren't even aggressive. They also did not regularly die in the process of hunting (only 15% of their food came from hunting). Sure, they did have shorter lives than now (around mid-forties) but they were much healthier than we are today. They were happier, less stressed...
  13. I know a gluten-free, and even casein-free, diet helps a lot of those with Autism.
  14. It helps with bandwidth usage.
  15. Seeds Of Change are yummie. Am I the only one who doesn't like Annies? I want some creamy honey mustard- does any one have any ideas?
  16. It doesn't matter if he does or doesn't have Celiacs if he doesn't want to follow the diet. My borther has been sick this week from cheating. They are only doing pain to themselves. Since your son does live at home you should be able to use that to get him to see a therapist and such. 23 is young so don't let him frustrate you too much.
  17. It is always good to get in touch with local support group leaders where you are going and have them help you.
  18. Last night one of my support groups went to dinner again (Open Original Shared Link). 12 of us came out this time to R. Thomas Deluxe Grill (Open Original Shared Link) in Atlanta. Our group leader met with them ahead of time and went over their impressive menu (we could have almost everything on it). They are a very heath conscious restaurant, offer many...
  19. I am a little late in posting this but I wanted to share. Last month one of my support groups got together (Open Original Shared Link) to go out and eat. There were 9 of us and went to Ted’s Montana Grill (Open Original Shared Link). Our fabulous group leader had already called and talked to their manager and they knew we were coming. Our waiter was n...
  20. I went to the dinner last night. It was good and I am sure I will eat their again.
  21. I live just North of the city and am a student, too! I go to the three groups mentioned sometimes. It can be fun.
  22. No, there is no cure for Celiac Disease.
  23. I thought Kraft doesn't hide gluten in their ingedients?
  24. You should contact them because Celiac Disease is an auto-immune disorder.
