  1. When the awareness of Celiac Disease spreads then more people will be tested for it. Most symptoms can be explained by something else and it takes awhile to think of a food "allergy." Just because the test is simple doesn't mean finding the thing to test for is. That's why it takes people years to find an answer.

  3. You shouldn't eat anything unless you know it's glutenfree. A lot of hard candies are not gluten-free. Sorry to hear about your pain!
  4. Was this it: Open Original Shared Link ?
  5. I don't think being "sensitive" should be a factor or not. It's either glutenfree 100% or not. I do not eat Frito-Lays products or any other that say they have been crosscontaminated. Other companies come up front telling Celiacs that they shouldn't have their products because of "slight resedues" and I agree. However, some people feel safe with them...
  6. Being gluten-free when tested culd factor in with the result. If you wanted to get tested for other allergies get tested for wheat and casein.

    ARCHIVED What Kind Of Doctor?

You do not need a special doctor to test you. Your usual doctor can test you. If your test says you have it then you can look for a special one, if you feel you need it.
  8. celiac3270-withdrawl for a few days! Ahhh!
  9. I think it's good that you don't say anything to them and respect the laws. I like when someone in an office/clinic knows what I am in for when they shouldn't and talks to me. Maybe you can talk about the signs of Celiacs to the poeple who can tell them? Or even put posters around the clinic about Celiacs or pamplets on tables?
  10. I have ben thinking about celiac3270 lots today. I hope he didn't forget his walkmen!
  11. I know I am not ingesting any gluten. It's nothing out of the normal and probably all enhanced from the stresses of classes! Also, my periods were a little wacky when I started glutenfree but after a few months got back on track. Which could explain a lot.
  12. Not eating and throwing up don't help you slim down. Cut portion sizes down, don't eat after dark, and get some exercise. Make all your own food, no fast foods or sweets, eat veggies and fruit. Start walking more and being active.
  13. I have been glutenfree for amost 2 years and I PMS just as bad as I used to and the brekaing out is back. Waw. I tought maybe all that had passed but not for me!
  14. I reacted the same way which I do with gluten when I took them. I always took the same ones (which I don't remember because I haven't used them in two years) and was probably taking one of their non-glutenfree products. They may be glutenfree now.
  15. Yay! That's very cool, Molly!
  16. I PM/E-mail a few people, some are in my local support group, and one I bug when I am visiting his city. There are good people here!
  17. I react right away when I take it.
  18. Right after I went glutenfree I experienced something like this: Cycle on regular date next one 2 weeks later next one 4 weeks later next one 2 weeks later Then it went to being normal every 4 weeks.
  19. Fiber is for regulation.
  20. If your church accepts glutenfree waffers you can buy some here: Open Original Shared Link
  21. I am right on with you about it being healthier to not have guten and other animals products. You husband has can worry because being glutenfree can be tough but reall there is no need to worry if your child gets it since you will know right away if the child would have it. Because you are gluten-free already they will start off life healthy! If they dot...
  22. I never thought about the two being connected but I can see how they could be, along with other disorders. Very interesting stuff.
  23. No, McDonalds do not fry their nuggets of chicken there (they come fried). The only things they use fryers for are fries-which are glutenfree. I always like to ask at McDonalds if they have dedicated friers, just to be sure, and have never found one that used them for anything else. I don't eat anything but their frys though.
  24. That is really interesting to think about. How did you come up with this topic? Is it from your own chidren since 2 have Celiacs and two don't? I would think the answers would really vary depending on when the child was diagnosed. I was diagnosed my senior year of High School (and am now a sophmore in college) and am sure that the feelings I feel about...
  25. You can find some answers from the main site https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid...-30105449437.11 The thing is that it takes some time to grasp what this disease is and how it will affect you. It's good that you and your Dad have gone out and shopped. There are many Diabetic Celiacs and you should be able to find some here who can help you on...
