  1. You have a point about the passion. I LOVE scrapbooking but I wouldn't keep voting for it. I LOVE my animals but I'm not looking for another pampered pup gadget. I LOVE decorating but the market is already overloaded...but I NEED more allergy resources. I am passionate about that. I only know of 1 other allergy mag with recipes out there and they have...
  2. Lets keep voting and getting our friends to vote...
  3. We are trying to figure out what kind of testing to get for the kids. DH and I just had the basic Enterolab gluten and casein panels done. I was borderline and DH was definitely gluten sensitive. We did not have the gene testing done but it was suggested DH might be genetic. We were going to have the kids tested now. Should we go the full panel...
  4. I have also always heard that the Plano plant products are the only safe ones. To my knowledge I have only seen the Plano products but googling made me think that there are more plants.
  5. How long have you been on the diet?? It is my understanding that you have to be consuming gluten at the time of the blood test to get accurate results/
  6. Don't forget you can vote 1x every day until the deadline!!
  7. I would start by getting that tooth taken care of. I am the biggest chicken going to dentists but its got to be done. We just bought our first neti pots this fall. I struggle with everything turning into a sinus infection. Now the dr gives steroids instead of antibiotics for that. My body doesn't handle those at all. While at the store, I picked up...
  8. It will not give you an "official" diagnosis but by your numbers you are going to get a good idea of what is going on in your intestine.
  9. My teeth are horrible!!
  10. We got our EnteroLab results today. There is no question that DH is sensitive. My results are an IgA 9 where the normal range is <10. Would being gluten lite for about a year weaken the results any?? I do get tummy issues and the D when I eat a sandwich or pizza (cheese free). After doing the diet test with our son, I got severe chills, barfies...
  11. Keep an eye open for cross reactors -- I see you mention birch. Birch is cross reactive with Apple, Plum, Carrot, Fennel, Cherries, Walnut, Pear, Potato, Peach, and Wheat. That means that these foods are similar enough to birch that at varying times of the year (esp when birch pollen is high) these foods could cause a mild oral or behavioral/inattention...
  12. We have a variety of issues in this house. If there is a food that is tempting or problematic for a person that food is removed from the household. They can eat is else where. I'm ana to shellfish - that doesn't enter the house. If DH eats it at a business lunch he will strip at the laundry room and run upstairs to shower, brush his teeth... DS...
  13. We have used Cranio Sacral Therapy with my oldest child (8 y/o). He was 5 at the time. I'll give you the shortened story... He was far into the autism spectrum. He was not speaking like a 5 y/o, not nighttime OR daytime potty trained, highly explosive, banded his head on floors/walls...He did have a very difficult birth where he was "stuck" for a...
  14. How were you tested?? I find skin tests to show a lot of false positives.
  15. I was having trouble this morning. It was locking up and I got in extra posts. I cannot figure out how to get rid of the extra.. Open Original Shared Link
  16. While tasty, cheese and olives can be a difficult food for even a solid system when eaten alone. Next time maybe try that snack with a bit of meat, corn tortilla, rice cake...and see if you get more desirable results.
  17. I have been told the foods you desire/crave the most are the ones most likely to be causing your problems. Your body craves the "bad" food like a body will crave a "bad" drug. What I have seen with ADHD or AS kids it that they hit a "detox" mode around 2-4 weeks so they are actually worse for a period of time. Some inattentive kids also react strongly...
  18. Yes. Anytime I have taken out an item for a diet test, I have had a break out if I was sensitive to it.
  19. My son started calling his reactions "bugs" about the time he was 4 y/o. It kind of got funny (not then but is now) when he started identifying foods that gave him "bugs". We would be in a grocery and he would point and start yelling "bugs, bugs!". That was fun .
  20. There is a level of curiosity and a level of panic. We get a bunch of question from parents whose kids live on only mac/cheese, pb sandwiches and chicken nuggets. They see their kid having some of the same symptoms that brought us to where we are and panic. With so many dietary issues going undiagnosed, I try to direct them to info which may be of...
  21. That would have never of filled either of my two oldest kids. Do you have any proteins to give her??
  22. An allergy to gluten is not the same as Celiac. Our nutritionist did tell us that milk and wheat issues of any kind are not to be toyed with because they do things in the body unlike other allergens. Two weeks is a short time. I believe it can take about 6 months (or longer) to completely get gluten out of the system. The fact that you are feeling...
  23. No way! No how!! I've been told by an ALLERGIST that my full blown anaphylaxis to shellfish was a figment of my imagination (and my witnesses imagination). Another allergist told me it is not possible for adults to be allergic to milk while my skin test was growing bigger and bigger in front of his eyes. If I get that kind of nonsense for something...
  24. How long did it take you to get your results back?? I know they say to allow 3 weeks. I was wondering if anyone got them sooner?? I'm trying to be patient but...I'm not good at that!
  25. I agree. I think the "can't confirm or deny" is a very poor statement from a drug company!!!
