  1. Yes, those kind of symptoms resolved in me. Along with many others. Not everybody tests well for gluten intolerance. It would be good if you knew what blood antibodie tests they did and what the results were. There is also a possibility of NCGI (non-celiac gluten intolerance). Which is actually more common that celiac disease. Right now there are no...
  2. Hi Hchenery, Welcome to the forum! Antibodie testing is useless after you stop eating gluten. Unless you do a fairly long period of eating gluten again it just doesn't work. After all, the whole point of the gluten-free diet is to lower the antibodies so they don't do damage to the body. Some doctors don't seem to understand that though. Duh...
  3. Hi Icelandgirl, You don't have to eat breakfast for breakfast! You can eat lunch or dinner in the morning instead. Here's a few of the food threads on the forum. Not many ideas there I guess, only enuff for a couple centuries! What's For Breakfast Today? https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/81858-whats-for-breakfast-today/ What Did You Have...
  4. Hi Simon, Here are a few threads about NCGI. Research has proven that it exists, but they don't know a whole lot about it yet or what kinds of damage it may do over time. NCGI does cause an immune response, but a different response than in celiac disease. So how serious is it? Nobody knows for sure right now. It's interesting though that there is...
  5. Hi Scared, You can call Quest Diagnostics and ask them about testing. You don't need a doctor's permission to sue their testing service. But you would need to go to an office to have the blood drawn. There are other testing services but I don't remember their names right now. You might ask the doctor why there is gut atrophy ? There has to be...
  6. I suggest you still get the blood tests done. If your doctor won't do them maybe another doctor will.
  7. Hi Andrew, Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you are on the right track going gluten-free. If you want to know about celiac disease you can find plenty of information reading this forum. If you want to know for sure if you have celiac disease you would need to get blood drawn for antibodie tests. But that doesn't work unless you are eating...
  8. Ok, here's my progress report so far. I was doing the DHEA and pregenelone creams every Mon Wed Fri. Also the ginseng and Vitamin D cream. Since I started taking some extra selenium I am feeling more like a person and am thinking the hormone creams aren't really helping a lot. So I am going to stick with just the ginseng, selenium and vit D for awhile...
  9. Hi Nicole, I imagine other foods could cause the same reaction. I can sure understand wanting to get a quick solution to the situation. You could try an elimination diet at some point to see if anything is causing reactions. It might help. That's how I figured out soy was causing my problem. Here's a page talking about overdoing it on the selenium...
  10. Here's a whole thread on the subject. It's a good idea to ask for copies of your test results. Usually blood and biopsy samples are sent to a lab for analysis. The doctor may not get them back for a few days or longer. Worrying about it won't change the results. Praying could tho! Regardless, having celiac disease is not a terrible fate. ...
  11. Hi Justscared, welcome to the forum! Lymphoma with celiac disease is rare. Yes, it does happen, but not very often. Generally if you have celiac disease and stick to the gluten-free diet, you should recover fine. Although recovery can take a while. Most of the time the first celiac disease test is a blood antibodies test. Then an endoscopy if...
  12. Nueropathy can be caused by diabetes also. Nurrologists deal with things related to nerves, which includes the brain also.
  13. Hi Nicole (nvsmoom), Thanks for telling us your story. More information certainly helps! I had fainting spells for a while a few years back. I would pass out sometimes sitting still in a chair, or almost pass out when standing out too. In my case it turned out to be caused by soy. Had the doctors do their tests and stuff, nuerologist, endo. They...
  14. Hi CK, If you don't want to get a diagnosis, it's ok to go ahead and stay gluten-free. But if you do want a diagnosis, you should get back on eating at least a small amount of gluten every day. If you wait until later to do testing, the doctors will tell you to go back to eating gluten for 6 to 8 weeks (a gluten challenge) before they will test your...
  15. Thanks for the link on the research about selenium Prickly pear. I am re-posting it here so people don't have to go looking for it to know what I am referring to. I think I'll look for some Brazil nuts too! Open Original Shared Link [Experience with selenium used to recover adrenocortical function in patients taking glucocorticosteroids long]. AIM...
  16. Hi Kareng, no problem at all, thanks for your input! Different viewpoints are welcome as far as I am concerned. None of us knows all the answers in life, and I am living proof of that. IH, Thanks for your input too, you had one of those wonderful experiences that modern medicine provides us sometimes. Well, maybe not wonderful.. One thing I think...
  17. There are a few threads (make that a lot) of threads on what to eat. You don't have to eat the usual breakfast type things in the morning. Try eating dinner or lunch in the morning instead. 18. Sorry, I wasn't trying to offend smokers, or condemn them. It's the stench of the stuff that bothers me. And having to be around smokers and breath their exhaust at times. That inhales like a hoover. The people themselves are not the problem, their habit is. The smokers themselves are kinda nice, in a sort of wrinkled up, smelly, hazy cloud of smoke...

    ARCHIVED Soy

I hope the cardio has some good ideas for you Ken. Personally, I think eating soy leads to irritation in the gut and possible food intolerances. But that's just a theory of mine. Looks like the tick meat allergy is in Australia too. So Ken, you tucked into a drumstick and had a reaction at 2 in the morning? Been to Australia lately? Open Original...
  20. I can't understand how perfectly sane seeming people walk around with those rotten smelling things hanging out of their mouths. Cigarettes stink something awful. I worked in a restraunt for a while and and cleaning out the garbage cans was disgusting. Not because of the food, but because of the smell of cigarette butts and ashes mixed with Pepsi and Coke...
  21. Thanks KarenG for pointing out that adrenal fatigue is not a recognized condition by the medical establishment. I forgot to put that in my initial post. You are 100% right and it is wise to consider that fact. There is a real issue there. Since adrenal fatigue is not a recognized medical condition, there is room for hucksters and frauds to take people...

Here's an article on it Ken. Open Original Shared Link
  23. I thot it would be interesting to start a thread on adrenal fatigue alternative treatments. Seems like the subject of adrenal fatigue come up fairly often. This article on Dr. Mercola site has an overview of adrenal function, which is interesting. One thing I didn't know is that it can be bad for the liver to take DHEA orally. There is a pop up window...

    ARCHIVED Soy

Ouch! 6 weeks! Not so fun and exciting stuff there Ken. I suppose you've read about the tick borne illness that makes people allergic to red meats? I think they found it in Texas first.
