  1. Ok, well I'll have to make my way to Whole Foods at some point. I was hoping something mainstream was out there, but after looking at labels I was fairly certain there wasn't anything. Thanks~
  2. Hmm... I've never heard of that. Is it frozen, refrigerated or on the shelf (like the microwave bacon)? Thanks~
  3. Does anyone know of a gluten-free breakfast sausage? Thanks~
  4. The longer you are on the diet, typically the more sensitive you become. I personally try to avoid foods produced on shared equipment b/c damage can be done whether or not we experience symptoms. There actually are quite a few companies out there with dedicated facilities. I also scour these boards and if I see a number of people reacting to a particular...
  5. As far as anyone can tell, I am the only one in my family who has ever had it. Although autoimmune disorders are prevalent on both sides of my family.
  6. I have no experience with the cruises, but I've been to Disney World parks twice now since being gluten-free. I suppose the experiences amongst people here will vary. In my own experience I would say Disney has gotten better at accomodating celiacs - you probably won't go hungry (unless you're a pick eater - like me ) And that is an improvement from the...
  7. I have "SmartWater" by Glaceau. It is electrolyte enhanced water. Maybe you could try that? I buy it at just about any grocery store here in Massachusetts.
  8. Oh, I agree totally. That's why I'm asking for more feedback here b/c I thought I had done everthing I could to ensure these were safe. Perhaps the info on that thread is inaccurate then. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some well-known contamination issues with these products that I was unaware of. Thank You!
  9. I just read from a thread last year that smuckers Listerine and Colgate are not gluten-free? Is this info still accurate? I was told by this companies that they are gluten-free - well I didn't call smuckers, I just assumed they were gluten-free b/c the ingredients looked gluten-free (strawberry preserves). I've been using these for years. But I've...
  10. I take Primacare One Softgel TRX. The pill is purple and says TherRX 200 on it. I have been taking it for 5 months without a problem. Congrats and good luck!
  11. Hmmm - haven't tried Pamela's for waffles. I didn't care for the pancakes much. Would the recipe be different for waffles I wonder? Yes, I love Lifestream. I thought I was being careful to get gluten-free ones. I thought others had had cc issues with them and so when I started having trouble again I just attributed it to the waffles, but who knows...
  12. If you mean flakes - I love Nature's Path Mesa Sunrise. It has flax, corn and amaranth. In fact, amaranth in general is such a tasty and healthy grain that makes fantastic flakes. This particular cereal is lightly sweetened and almost reminds me of raisin bran (add your own raisins). Kinda pricey - like most gluten-free ready-to-eat foods. I buy the...
  13. Pacific has a spectacular creamy tomato soup. It comes in a carton instead of a can. All pacific products are gluten free to my knowledge - broths and soups. They also have a creamy roasted red pepper and tomato as well as a butternut squash that is also excellent. They have others too - french onion, i think a creamed corn.... all yummy and many are...
  14. Yes, the light tapioca is good. Reminds me of "real" white bread. But I like EnerG light brown rice bread even more. Tastes more like "real" wheat bread. I think even the light tapioca has a tinge of strange taste and smell to it like the other tapioca loaf, but I don't find this at all with the brown rice. And I think the brown rice is probably healthier...
  15. Oh - thank you thank you thank you! That is such a relief! And the Benadryl is kicking in now and I feel much better - until the drowsiness kicks in anyway Thank You!
  16. I may have just done something really stupid. I can usually eat strawberries, but today I tried organic ones, and for some reason, I had a terrible allergic reaction to them. I panicked and took a Benadryl. I know some Benadryl is gluten-free, but this was the capsul kind which I'm not really sure about. All I can find on the web so far is tabs and elixir...
  17. Thanks for the ideas. I haven't found a pancake mix I like yet, but maybe I can mix up my own waffle mix and just do it myself. I'll check out some recipes. Thanks!
  18. Wow - the closest Trader Joe's is over an hour away from me! I'm sure Kinickinnick is great - I like many of their products - I just can't afford the shipping and no one sells the waffles here. Maybe I can talk one of our stores into carrying them. Thanks
  19. Hello, I used to love Lifestream brand Buckwheat waffles but I haven't eaten them in a long time. I was eating them for several months but saw a return in symptoms and suspected those may have had something to do with it. I think I remember reading here a while back that others had issues with them too. Anyone know if they have fixed any possible...
  20. Here is a recipe I figured out from biscuits my mother used to make from a recipe book by Betty Crockerthat used bisquick. I believe they were called: PEEK-A-BLUES: 1c blueberries 2T & 2T sugar 1/2 t nutmeg 1/2 t cinnamon 2t lemon juice 2c Bobs Red Mill gluten-free pancake mix 1/4c soft butter 2/3c milk Preheat the oven to 450. Mix...
  21. There is no contact info on this brand of latex glove I just used to prepare my food. It is not powder free. I cannot find anything in a search on here about latex gloves and the powder used in them. Typically I just use powder-free kinds, but someone else got me these and I didn't check first. Do you think they would use wheat to powder them? ...
  22. I've been heat intolerant too, although I believe I am better since being gluten-free. Weak, dizzy, headache, etc... I try to spend as much time as possible indoors in the summer. I always attributed it to my hypoglycemia. The heat tends to make my sugar drop very quickly, thus the symptoms which, for me, are hypoglycemia symptoms. This same thing...
  23. Thank you very much. I am trying to eat as plain as possible now, and I do feel better, but just so very thin and weak. I cannot eat much fruit because I am severly hypoglycemic. I'm also allergic to many kinds of fruits. I can begin a meal with a few grapes or strawberries to get my sugar up before I eat the main meal, and an occasional banana. I can...
  24. I've been eating real cheap foods lately and I think I'm paying for it now in other ways I was just going by ingredients. I found many generic-brands that listed allergens and the ingredients looked okay, but I'm weak, achy and losing weight quickly after doing this for a few weeks. At first I felt like I was glutened for sure, and now that I've gotten...
  25. Ooh, good point. Thanks for pointing that out. And about Method - Yes, it is sold at Target. I LOVE the unusual scents and they aren't full of all the harsh chemicals you find in many cleaners - oh, and they work good too . Especially the kitchen cleaners (they come in a few scents) and the cucumber bathroom cleaner - it's awesome. BUT, I do not...
