  1. I'm so glad you are on to the Vitamin D problem right away. I wasn't. Three years ago my Vit. D was borderline low, and my DEXA scan showed I had lost bone density quite rapidly but still not into osteopenia. I didn't know enough then. 18 months later I self-diagnosed with at least gluten intolerance, if not celiac; later found this forum, started putting...
  2. Methinks you might get frostbite on your toesies on my doorstep; I am still wearing sweatshirts--you'd luv it (for about five minutes) If incoherency is de point, ya sure made it!! 3. Yes, but look what they do to us in the process of dealing with this gluten
  4. I dream most of the night, both before and after (self)diagnosis. Some are more memorable than others, but they are always long and harrowing but not violent. Even when I am in violent situations, I feel safe and almost untouchable, more like an observer than a participant. Often I incorporate real-time things in my dreams, and I used to have prophetic...
  5. What an exssperating visit. No wonder you are aggravated. I myself would like to hit him over the head. As I recall it was your tTG that was "weakly" positive. I am no expert, but it is my understanding that the tTG is quite specific for celiac. And it's like a pregnancy test--yes or no, not maybe. And there are many false negative biopsies...

  7. Okay, dat's it!! I'm sick of everyone being able to be doing subscript, underline, color, etc., etc., and being able to hide all the coding. I can nae do that and feel such an idjil. Prithee, give me da key to da doorl!! I promise I won't make a copy of it. Though sometimes it works and I donna know why!! I see the last one, it works!!! How come...

  11. Part Drei: Anyway, part of what I was saying before, I think, was that... Dis place is overflowing with wine (or whine), peaches and nectarines, strawberries and melons (wot, no cherries??) phleazy or non-phleazy kittehs, grey hair, permed hair, butchered hair, red hair and white, greysilver hair, phrizzy hair, hairless heads and hamster brows...

  14. David, it is a winding road we embark on when we realize we have either gluten intolerance or celiac disease. Most of us cannot obtain the help we need from our doctors, and we have to do it ourselves. Once we have the celiac part under control, the next part is what else needs attention? As mentioned above, candida is a probable candidate and needs eliminating...

  16. Also, you don't need a tortilla, flour or corn, for tacos. We have tacoless tacos--beans (DH only); meat (turkey or beef) cheese, tomatoes, lettuce plus whatever extras float your boat--avocado/guacamole, sour cream, salsa....

  18. It is very interesting that this discussion is taking place at this time. I have just been referred for testing of PTH. phosphorus, and calcium levels, (both blood and urine) with a suspiscion of a parathyroid problem. Symptoms include partial renal failure, osteoporosis (am going to have a DEXA scan, but doc says that a compression fracture in the spine...

  20. I just baked a BRM bread mix today, my first; had to bake an extra 7 minutes for the altitude up here; we both love the flavor and texture. Would definitely use again.
  21. I second the use of grapeseed oil; I love it and use it in place of olive oil a lot although I have no problems with olive oil (at the moment) But I recently found out, what I have been telling others not to do, I have done to myself: ate too much citrus for too many days and I have become extremely intolerant with hives all over my body for days. ...
  22. So I have just migrated from sea level to mile high! Does anyone know how this affects baking times and temps?? I am mainly thinking of gluten free breads here.
