  1. A few of us on here have problems with quinoa as well.
  2. Yes, it's because they are unwell that they are fed the antibiotics, I believe. We have had other threads on this subject:
  3. I am not a great believer in the endo being any more reliable than the blood testing. And let's say he has no current intestinal damage that can be found. Do you want for him to continue eating gluten until he does have it? By which time he may be very symptomatic? Better to head it off at the pass, I would think. As pp's have said, whether or not...
  4. Hello, and welcome to the board. I would think it might be time to retest celiac - and have dad tested too!
  5. Oh, now see, when you talk about canning, I am thinking very literally..... like --- cans???? You are talking about what we call preserving when you are saying your American thingy (thinger) -- "canning". I am much too literal, methinks
  6. Oh, okay - George in a can I was thinking along the lines of George of the Jungle - watch out for that tree!!!!! What kind of canning equipment do you have???
  7. I'm sorry, can't help. My intolerance testing was good old trial and error. I tried it and if I didn't tolerate it it was an error
  8. Christmas George? Pray tell !!
  9. Well, y'all are forcing me to admit that I can't eat feedlot beef and not because I am squeamish about it. It wires me up and keeps me awake, like my head is directly plugged in to the electrical outlet. And yes, the grass-fed is so much better tasting. They are starting to introduce feed lots in New Zealand now it won't be long before they will have...
  10. I use the mometasone furoate for my psoriasis. It works wonders!
  11. No, I do not think the 15 score has a lot of meaning. While not a negative, it is a very weak "peep" on the scale. But not getting positive scores on celiac testing does NOT mean that he does not have an issue with gluten. It just means that he flunked the test because he didn't study hard enough? I do believe you when you say he is a different child...
  12. No, the grain does not make its way into the meat. The only difference between grain fed and grass fed is the hormones and antibiotics that the grain fed animals are also fed to keep them healthy and growing.
  13. Do you eat things like coconut oil, avocados, nut butters on celery, olive oil salad dressings, things that will bring good fat into your diet? Are you totally grain free, including corn, millet, quinoa, or could some of these be possible? (I know, they're not for me, but just asking since we're all different.) Just trying to get you some good fats and...
  14. Tammy, the Total IgA, when it says "sufficient" in the results, just means that your son makes what is considered to be a normal amount of IgA antibodies (in general) for someone his age. It says nothing at all about whether or not he was eating sufficient gluten for the test to be valid. Neither would the two sandwiches he ate immediately before the test...
  15. It seems like those should appear this way: Test Result Referance Range Tissue transglutaminase IgA 115 (<20 Negative; 20-30 Weak Positive; >30 Moderate Pos. to Strong Pos) Gliadin Deamidated IgA Ab 5 (<20 Negative; 20-30 Weak Positive; >30 Moderate Pos. to Strong Pos) Gliadin Deamidated IgG Ab 69 (...
  16. Cor blimey, mate, ya think ya can shun us like that for all these months, and then just slip in here on your little cat's paws and say How're y'all doing, anyway? I've even had to take over the Pinch Punch duties, an' all.
  17. Sounds like a wise decision. The best of luck to you
  18. Since your dermatologist said it looked like a DH rash, I am making the assumption that she is celiac savvy and knew how to properly biopsy for DH; i.e., clear skin immediately adjacent to the rash, rather than the rash itself?
  19. It's a constant struggle though. The wagon stops at every station at least once a day
  20. I did not have to eat gluten free when I was in Germany, but your mention of Grafenwoehr brought back a whole host of memories, Mindy, since that was a first-line-of-defense town on the border of east and west in the cold war days I worked in the psychiatric clinic of a USAH and many's the time a young private would be brought in having cracked under the...
  21. At this link: Open Original Shared Link you will find the ranges used by Quest Laboratories for children and adults, just for comparison purposes. Each laboratory establishes their own ranges depending on the equipment used and other variables. The question you ask is valid, if the ranges for both your children were the same.
  22. That is a bit of a puzzlement, isn't it? It could be that you were just sick in August, and that finding celiac (or supposed celiac) disease was just a serendipitous finding. Which celiac test(s) did they run, and what were the scores and ranges?
  23. Wait just a minute please... BANG! BANG! BANG! There, I have finished banging my head against the wall That feels better. Why, oh why, do they continue to do this to their patients??? And you even told him he should test first. I guess it's because it is not their bodies they are messing up They don't have to do the challenge if they want a diagnosis...
  24. I guess we would be able to offer more help if we knew exactly what your symptoms are when you have a 'flare'. Are you having any digestive issues or are we talking just about acid reflux. You also mention being cold and now finding you have a problem with soy. What are the symptoms, apart from the possible acid reflux, that you attribute to possible celiac...
