  1. Mutations - Beck
  2. Heck, by that time it would have to be somewhere my walking frame would go Certainly not the Milford Track, which you really SHOULD consider doing. And maybe the Abel Tasman, and the Heaphy, and the Hollyford......
  3. Congratulations on your self-realization diagnosis. For many of us, it is just as well we have this self-diagnostic ability. Glad you are feeling better and hope you gain some weight (P.S. I don't say that to many people).
  4. You might just as well recheck the D to make sure you are absorbing it.
  5. We're in the South Pacific ...... well, maybe the south South Pacific. You could always talk to my niece. She did that for several years, well not the retire part but sailed the South Pacific with her 'pirate' whilst operating her wholesaling business. Put into Fiji, fly off and come back; put into Papeete, fly off and come back; put into Pango...
  6. I am sorry you both have to suffer like that; it looks incredibly painful and uncomfortable.
  7. Running a low-grade fever, in and of itself, is not harmful. It is the body's way of dealing with a problem and probably does not require medicating unless it gets out of hand.
  8. Simple is as simple does; and for them that doesn't, t'aint simple I watched a cooking show where she made 'confit' of a whole bunch of things, and she just put them in a pan of olive oil and 'cooked' them over exceptionally low heat - is that how you do it?
  9. This is a four-year old thread and the original posters will not see your post. Why don't you start a new topic?
  10. Thank You, Girl - The Beatles
  11. If you have not already done so, you should have all your vitamin and mineral levels checked; A, B's, D, E, K; calcium, potassium, zinc, copper, magnesium, iron/ferritin, and yes, a DEXA scan with a family history of osteoporosis - which may well mean a family history of celiac and low Vit. D. You should also get your thyroid function checked, and not just...
  12. If you were to have the blood work drawn in the next day or two you may still get a positive result. If you wait until two weeks gluten-free you are less likely to get an accurate result. If you resume eating gluten now and have the test later, you will know. I know that you may not want to do this and I understand. However, whether or not you get the...
  13. Sensitivity can increase as time goes by, so yes, entirely possible, normal.
  14. Who's That Girl? - Madonna
  15. Karen, I'm with you. I looked at the photos and said "Cornmeal????" And then I looked at the recipe which called for "pre-cooked WHITE cornmeal"?? and said WTF???
  16. Meats are inherently gluten free, including those fed gluten-containing grain. Some meat, most especially poultry, is occasionally injected with a gluten-containing broth, in which case it must be labeled in the U.S. as containing wheat. I am sorry you ended up suffering, perhaps from something else you ate?? Sometimes reactions can be delayed. I will...
  17. I just looked in my crystal ball, and I can see organ meat in your future lasga. Also shell fish, octopus, pork and various other options. See here: Open Original Shared Link Welcome to the boards and I hope you are not allergic to shell fish.
  18. Try to eat fresh, whole foods as much as possible, meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, rice. Save all the processed foods for later when you are more experienced (and healed). To make things a bit easier, try Udi's bread and Tinkyada pasta, and Pamela's baking mix for cookies, pancakes, etc. Your intestinal tract will thank you for it.
  19. Here's one to get you started: Open Original Shared Link
  20. Welcome to the boards, sabin. What I say depends on your goals. If you want a proper diagnosis, you should continue eating gluten until all testing is finished. If you want to feel better, it is pretty obvious whether you are celiac or non-celiac gluten intolerant that gluten is bad for you and you should not eat it regardless of what other people...
  21. Whoa, those are really high blood test numbers. I would certainly not bet against those numbers, particularly with progression from osteopenia to osteoporosis with stress fractures. Have you had testing for vitamin and mineral deficiencies too? I would bet low on D3, calcium, probably B12, magnesium, at least. Something your MD can do while you are waiting...
  22. And some prunes wouldn't hurt, either
  23. Why don't you save your money and do the trial test? Cut out all dairy, add in some parmesan. If that works, try some cheddar. If that works, try some yogurt. If that works try some milk? If that doesn't work you have a lactose problem, not a casein problem. If you can't do the cheeses, you have a casein problem.
  24. I would just like to elaborate a little bit on what toworryornottoworry said. The issue has not yet been resolved in as black or white fashion as that because the reearchers have only just started seriously exploring the effects of NCGI. See for instance: The researchers noted that very little is known about gluten-related disorders other than celiac...
  25. I have a very finely crushed gravel (gray and white mix) on my pathways and it looks good. You could do decomposed granite.... I like something that provides for natural drainage and your dog may not like to 'do business' on gravel Will your man come and build me a herb table pyramid? One thing I found - fragile skin, sharp corners, and clumsiness...
