  1. After one very awful, crunchy mess, I found that doesn't work with a waffle iron
  2. So, a current -ex ?? Not so easy to handle. His current behavior is perhaps an indication of why he was an ex in the first place Small towns can be hard where everyone knows everyone else (and everyone else' business ) You don't need to talk to the doctor to get the biopsy report - just ask the receptionist for it. You really do need...
  3. The first thing you have to understand is that doctors are not as well versed on celiac as we would expect them to be. Most don't understand the continuing need to eat gluten for accurate diagnosis until all the testing is done. At least yours recognized that celiac is a possibility. Now I have no idea what your biopsy report actually said, but you do...
  4. Yes, but he WAS concerned - little bells were ringing somewhere
  5. You say you started feeling bad after you went home for break. Was anyone else preparing food for you during that time? Are your family gluten eaters? You could have been cross-contaminated very easily. The nausea would be consistent with recovery from a glutening. Don't be discouraged, it happens to us all. Now that I am gluten free nausea is my...
  6. I haven't eaten any nightshades in more than two years. Hubs yesterday says, "Can you eat peppers?" And he knows they are a nightshade. Because all he has to worry about is gluten he just skips over the rest of the stuff I can't have.
  7. If every day you followed the health advice for that particular day, you would drive yourself crazy. You would be doing what you weren't doing yesterday, and not doing what you were doing yesterday. All you can do is apply a reasoned mind and weigh the balance of the evidence and do what you think is best.
  8. So sorry to hear about Big Boy
  9. I didn't comment on those numbers because they didn't make sense to me either.
  10. HaHaHaHa. Let Cooper put the leash on Any cat of mine has just rolled over and played dead when harnessed However, they did like to come for walks with the dog... sometimes took forever to shoo them back home.
  11. Doesn't look like it. Click here for info: Open Original Shared Link
  12. Yep, ya know you're getting old when you look forward to your bed and O2 (Opium 2 - no, that's my perfume )
  13. Hello Nikki, and welcome. To answer the most important question first, while we always tell people not to go gluten free until they have had their blood tests and endoscopies, if your nurse was accurate in reporting this finding "folds were consistent with Celiac Disease" then I would say that your gluten free eating did not make any difference to the...
  14. You might try this: (copied off the forum, do not know to whom to attribute this, sorry ) DH misses "regular" white flour pancakes, so I tried an experiment. I mixed up a small batch of my own "Bisquick" type mix, based on a recipe I found In "Top Secret Recipes Unlocked". gluten-free "Bisquick" Mix ...
  15. Have you tried Against the Grain? In freezer at Whole Foods.
  16. No, Sky'smom, I'm not talking about testing or diagnosis at all. Not saying you shouldn't try for a diagnosis either. Just saying, no matter what turns out, as a general rule if gluten bothers you it makes eminent sense to avoid it
  17. If you react to gluten it doesn't matter what the tests say -- you have to do the diet.
  18. The important part is the last part -- after you have done your multiquoting you do have to hit the Add Reply button to get them to pop up.
  19. Not me, I'm too sleepy thank you!

    ARCHIVED Allergist ?

I did test positive in a scratch test 20 years ago to soy and corn; I guess I didn't really believe in that stuff then. They do give me hives and rashes now. Don't think they tested me for any nightshades
  21. Shroom -- waving pompoms (about all I can do since that damned newmoanya )
  22. Just call them up and ask them to mail or fax you a copy, or stop by the office and pick up a hard copy. You are entitled to them so don't take no for an answer
  23. Now really, does ANYone still say Psshaw!!?? The one that got me for a while was KWIM? I guess it's better than "you know"...... one of my pet peeves - NO, I don't.
  24. Just maybe, she will see her first positive biopsy with negative blood, and she will become a better doc because of it and not just go around dismissing people. And I agree with Lisa, she has to take the samples regardless of what she "sees". since most celiac damage cannot be seen with the naked eye.
  25. Hi piggy, and welcome. I am sorry you are feeling so confused by this whole thing, which seems like it's all twisted around backwards First of all the blood tests and the pill cam have nothing to do with each other. They are two independent tests. Your GI did an endoscopy looking for gastritis, saw something suspicious and biopsied it, and unexpectedly...
