  1. They are the only thing apart from one's finger with which to scoop out the cinammon/chocolate flavored foam from a capucchino (and a darned poor job they do of it, too ---finger would do much better job but a little gauche and a trifle embarrassing.
  2. So(a)ring high among the clouds. Went down the back to the galley place where flight attendants hang out to get a bandaid for the piece of thumbnail I mostly pulled off on the seat hinge, and found a party going on Mostly bloody mary's though so got me a glass of whine. Why, oh why do they make you pull down the shades so peeps can't watch clouds so...
  3. Actually, adding an extra 5,000 iu a day wouldn't hurt. If you were deficient last year and have just gone gluten free you are no doubt deficient again.
  4. I see in my post previously I mistyped Vitamin D as C -- D is one of the most important vitamins in our bodies and one that celiacs are frequently deficient in. It is one that should be checked - besides all the other functions it controls, lack of D can lead to osteoporosis. I am sorry for the mistake.
  5. You are most likely "over"-reacting to a lot of things you will not react to further down the line. Your gut is not acting normally and most likely letting things into your bloodstream that shouldn't be there, and that is why you test positive. When your gut heals you will probably test normally to other foods and not react. And most celiacs cannot handle...

  7. Your multivitamin may not be enough, in fact it almost assuredly isn't enough, if you have any of the normal gluten-caused nutrient deficiencies. Have you had testing done for Vitamin C, B12, iron/ferritin, folate, potassium, magnesium, and have you had your thyroid checked. Any deficiencies in any of these can cause lethargy and fatigue and require more...
  8. Well, I have to question your doctor's understanding of celiac if he calls it an "allergy" to gluten. Celiac is in fact an autoimmune response to gluten, not an allergy. This autoimmune response causes the body to attack itself in various ways by producing autoimmune antibodies, none of which to my knowledge will cause your throat to swell. This is why...
  9. I went and lost all me psillly while it was down
  10. Your doctor must be just emerging from his caveman cave with his club, to call the DGP "experimental" It has quickly become one of the most specific tests for celiac. The old Gliadin AB's are often not even run any more. He needs to get out from under his rock a little more. From what I recall, if the tTG is normal, then the EMA is unlikely to render...
  11. If you have a fridge, a crockpot has to be a student's best friend. You can just toss the ingredients in in the morning, set it to low, and when you are ready for dinner it's done. Leftovers in plastic bags and frozen for lunches, dinners, breakfasts, whenever you happen to be around.
  12. As it is, it is rather err... prominent
  13. I would definitely accept the gastro referral, keep eating the gluten, tell lhim you were gluten lite or free when you were tested previously and ask him to test you again with a full celiac panel. Be sure also to tell him about your lactose intolerance and that of your babies also when you drink milk. Be sure to tell him about your liver enzymes and take...
  14. Out of the 300-odd symptoms of celiac disease, your six are included. (Obviously, not everyone has all 300 and no two people have the same set of symptoms, it seems.) Do keep eating gluten until all the tests are done and I agree, a repeat (full) celiac panel is called for, although it is possible also to have these symptoms with non-celiac gluten intolerance...
  15. Not just you, me too, and with leg of lamb I do it the Italian way -- just garlic and rosemary (and wine instead of water). This works best if you can convince a butcher to give you a shoulder cut, you know, the old-fashioned butcher still hiding under a rock somewhere
  16. I was born in March - in the southern hemisphere!!! Does that count?

  18. Then you'd better stay up, Peter!! Cos if everything's dead, how will you wake up???
  19. Jess took a statistics class last year
  20. Glad to hear you two are okay. Hope Patti is too
