  1. He paints a very simplistic picture of the process that is celiac disease, and chooses a timeframe that those who have lived a lifetime with this disease will not heal within. I am five years in and feel that for the last year or two I have had it under control. But I am old, and you younger ones should not have the problems I do. Leaky gut can cause...
  2. I would add that the only test available currently for NCGS is improvement on a gluten free diet, since the testing is all designed to test for celiac disease. Scientists are just starting to explore NCGS although those people outnumber celiacs by approximately five to one. By the way, you may post a link to your post on the other forum I agree...

  4. Your best bet in going gluten free is to eat only food you have prepared yourself. Eat whole foods, meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, rice, maybe some gluten free pasta with home-made sauce so you know what's in it. The chances of cross-contamination before you are thoroughly familiar with the diet are very high. So at least one month of not...

  10. Hi Miriam: I would suggest firing off an email to them: Open Original Shared Link and asking them.

  14. Hi, and welcome. Just because you are not celiac, does not mean that you are able to tolerate gluten. And there can be false negatives on the blood test. If your B-12 and folate are low, indicating malabsorption (have him check your Vitamin D too) do you think you could talk him into doing a biopsy? Also, what celiac tests were run and what were the...
  15. I'm glad you have found yourself a good doctor, but so sorry to hear you are still in pain. One more suggestion as far as an elimination -- corn. For me, corn gives the exact same symptoms as gluten, and it is a problem for many other celiacs as well. It might be worth a trial.
  16. Found this idea on the net: Recipe: Roast Loin of Venison Categories: None Yield: 6 Servings GARNETT PJXG05A 1/2 Bay leaf -- crushed 1 Loin roast venison 1/2 ts Celery seeds 1/2 lb Salt pork -- cut into Strips 1/2 ts Dry thyme 1 sm Onion -- chopped To 10 ml Garlic -- minced 4 Whole cloves 1 tb Fresh parsley...

  20. This is it, exactly.... the way I used to react to lectins (of which potatoes have a lot ) For me, eventually it would ultimately lead to a brief faint. I would be frantically swallowing yogurt trying to calm the storm in my gut and make it all go away. But it seems to be a response of the vagus nerve and once set in motion you just have to ride it out...
  21. I had been meandering along, dealing with lactose intolerance, the old IBS diagnosis, sudden dives for the restroom, bloating, gassiness. Then I developed what was initially diagnosed as RF negative rheumatoid arthritis. Decided to give up gluten to see if it helped because someone I know eats gluten-free for his AI ankylosing spondylitis. Three or so...
  22. Hello, and welcome. Since you say NoDiagnosis, I am making the assumption that these doctors who are postulating celiac disease have, in fact, tested you thoroughly for that?? Yes?? This would include a full celiac panel, and an endoscopy with biopsies. If you have not had these tests run you should keep eating wheat until they have been done. Once...
  23. There is a definite connection; it is no coincidence that so many of us take pancreatic enzymes to help digest our food. I found this article: Open Original Shared Link "We describe 12 patients with papillary stenosis and celiac disease. In 9 cases the celiac disease was a new diagnosis. Celiac disease should be considered in the etiology of papillary...
