  1. Does anyone know if the Ore-Ida site keeps their gluten free list updated? They do not have the Extra Crispy Seasoned Crinkles or the Extra Crispy Seasoned Tater Tots on their gluten free list. I looked at the ingredients at the store but did not see anything that was gluten in them so I got them. I've had the EC Seasoned Crinkles before with no problem...
  2. Thanks for posting this My parents just came to visit and my Mom got me Coconut Flour even though I told her I had no idea what to do with it. Looks like a easy type recipe I will print it and put it in my recipe folder to try soon
  3. I get the all Beef one by Oscar Mayer. Oscar Mayer is a Kraft product so if gluten is present they will list it. Here is a website that shows all the companies that will clearly lable gluten ingredients if present: Open Original Shared Link
  4. Digmom1014 -- Thanks for posting this I looked at the recipes the other week and forgot that I wanted to try to make the Muddy Buddies gluten free of course. I am thinking this is the chex treat I had as a kid and really liked
  5. What ever vitamin/supplements you end up taking make sure they are gluten free. Centrum has changed their formula so for the time being they are not gluten free. I like Nature Made vitamins. My dr. has me on a Multi Vit, B Complex and B12. I am not informed to the point where I know a lot about what vitamins you should be taking. I know my dr...
  6. Amy's meals are good but I've had problems with all of the ones I tried. I've even had a problem with the Chili.
  7. I use to get Amy's frozen meals but was reacting to them. They are really good if you do not have a problem with them. I was getting for a while Lean Cusine Glazed Chicken, it was the only one that I saw that did not have any wheat/gluten ingredients (keep in mind CC issues and change in ingredients). I like Delimex Beef Taquitos (some are gluten free...
  8. Whenever my mom comes to visit she always bring me different flours and mixes, haven't tried the flours yet -- still doing research on what combinations to do. I see Sorghum Flour a lot so I am taking it is a good one to use. Thank you again for all of your replies they have been helpful. I saved the websites and information. I am keeping an eye out...
  9. Thank you for the replies. My husband is still trying out different ways using potatoes (cheaper way to go than trying with chicken etc). The information has been helpful. We are going to go check out Canola Oil at the store. I think (before we got the deep fryer) we saw Planters Peanut Oil at Bass Pro Shop -- not sure on the price or if gluten free...
  10. I use Act II microwave popcorn. We also have a air popper and use Orville Redenbacher's popping corn (made by ConAgra Foods -- they are good about labling). I believe Newman's Own and Pop Secret have some that are gluten free. Here is a website that shows companies that will list gluten if present in the ingredients: Open Original Shared Link
  11. I have a Sam's Club card through work. My husband and I mainly get snack food there. Sam's is a lot different from Costco, it has a lot of "snack" type foods. If you have a Costco in your area (we don't) I have read more about people shopping at Costco on this website than Sam's club. We get Jennie O Turkey at Sam's that we cut (deli meat), chips ...
  12. My husband and I just purchased a deep fryer for gluten free french fries, chicken nuggets and desserts (once in a while thing). We made our own french fries (cut up potatoes) yesterday and used vegetable oil, they did not really work out. Today we used the same oil and tried Ore-Ida french fries and they seemed to turn out pretty good. We are trying...
  13. Marie -- All of the recipes look really good. Thanks for posting the site
  14. We just got a deep fryer so we can make gluten free chicken nuggets, fries etc. What type of oil do you use? We just tried Great Value Veg Oil (thinking it would be a good trial starter) but didn't care for it. Thank you very much!
  15. The first 3 weeks I think it was when I went completely gluten free I was hungry ALL the time. I thought something was the problem. I would eat a meal and still be hungry or be hungry little while later where I was normally full. Things have gotten back to normal though with the hunger. My husband (who eats gluten) made an account at www.fitday.com...
  16. I have never used or purchased Cayenne Pepper but I have a book (Gluten-Free Grocery Shopping Guide) that shows gluten free seasoning: 365 Everyday Value, Durkee, Spice Islands and Tones Always double check though before purchasing the seasoning. I've seen Cayenne Peppers on Bob's Red Mill site but I do not know if they are gluten free. GOOD LUCK
  17. There are soooooo many foods you can buy at the grocery store (normal brands) you just need to read the lable. I buy flours and snacks off and on from the health food store but pretty much all of our shopping is done at the normal grocery store (i.e. WalMart/Smith's). Last year when I went on the diet stupid me I read in one of my books that you can...
  18. Depending on your daughters age (grade level)...do you know if they are doing things like arts and crafts where she is using glue that has gluten in it or if she is really young some schools stuff do art stuff with noodles. Some classes they do stuff with clay type material. Does she share food with any of the kids at school (where they switch a snack they...
  19. What type of foods are you looking for? Classico Red and White spaghetti sauces are gluten free (see their website) Nature Valley has Roasted Nut Crunch (Peanut Crunch and Almond Crunch) just make sure you aren't getting the ones that have granola/oats in them. Uncle Ben's Fast & Natural Whole Grain Instant Brown Rice is gluten free (see back of...

    ARCHIVED Mimi's Cafe

I e-mailed them and asked, the person that replied said there was an attachment to the e-mail with their gluten free menu but I didn't see one anywhere. I haven't had time to re-write to them but they do have a gluten free menu. I grew up in Southern California so I was wanting to find out for when we go to visit my parents.
  21. I tried Silk. The Chocolate is good but I noticed if it starts to get to room temp then it doesn't taste as good. The plain is as it is called "plain" did not taste good, to me it tasted how baby formula smells. My brothers girlfriend and my father in law like the vanilla flavor. My stomach hurt more from the soy milk though than regular milk so I...
  22. Mac and Cheese -- cheese packet...... Kraft makes a small 3oz container (like the parmesan cheese container) called Macaroni & Cheese, Cheese Topping. I found it down the aisle with the parmesan cheese items. It is the same orange powder that is in the Mac and Cheese Box. I got mine at WalMart it was about $1.50 ish. I've used it on top of...
  23. Whenever I ate gluten I got really bad stomach pains/cramps and had to go to the bathroom A LOT. I didn't really notice bloating when I ate gluten (or was not aware it was happening) but I do get really bloated when I eat something with tapioca flour/starch in it and I stay bloated for about a week. Its almost like you need to have some pants/bottoms for...
  24. I take Nature Made Multi Complex. They are labled gluten free. Good luck.
  25. When I officially went gluten free this year (no once in a while cheating anymore) I got REALLY hungrey I felt like I was eating ALL the time and couldn't figure out why. It was also around the same time my doctor did some blood work and I was low in vitamin B12 and started taking B12 vitamins. About a month went by and I was back to my "normal" eating...
