  1. Thank you so much for the replies. I have noticed too that all of the good mixes have tapioca in them Looks like Gluten Free Pantry though doesn't use tapioca (at least in the 3 mixes I have). I liked making the gluten free pancakes but the Pamela's Mix has tapioca starch in it (really good though if you know anyone who can have tapioca). ...
  2. From what I have read and understand -- Tapioca Flour and Tapioca Starch are the same thing pretty much. I look really good at everything I eat to make sure it is gluten free, as well as things I use i.e. soaps, shampoos etc. During this past year I have been getting sick feeling off and on from something. I am pretty sure it is from tapioca flour...
  3. I haven't done this but a lot of people on here talk about the elimination diet. Where you have a very plain safe diet and then introduce new things to your diet once a week (I believe it is -- double check if it is once a week or every two weeks). Are you lactose intolerant? Some people are in general and some people are during the beginning of the...
  4. I use Freezer Zip locks for things I am freezing and regular zip lock for what I am putting the in the refridgerator. I recently got Ziploc brand containers that they show can go in the freezer. I am wanting to make more things to put in the freezer (meals, bread etc) but don't want to spend the time and money making things to freeze if I am not going...
  5. My husband can eat gluten so we have gluten and gluten free items in the house. We make our own meals for breakfast and lunch but for dinner it is always gluten free. We make tacos, spaghetti, hamburgers etc -- a lot of "normal" meals that certain items just have to be replaced with gluten free items. We don't have kids so I honestly can't understand...
  6. I get the 100% Minute Maid Premium Original Orange Juice and V8 V-Fusion Pomegranate Blueberry (a lot of the V8's are gluten free). You can always call the 800 line for the juice you are wanting and ask one of the rep's if it is gluten free. Also on some of the juice sites in the Frequently Asked Question area they say stuff about gluten free with their...
  7. I would question the rotisserie chicken. I know where I live a couple of the stores chicken have wheat in them. I do not know why they have wheat but they do. I am note sure about the tacos.... I eat Mission White Corn Hard Shells which are gluen free (says on box). If you ate the tacos at a fast food place/restaurant I would be careful b/c of the...
  8. WalMart brand (Great Value) is also gluten free. They put Gluten Free on the container.
  9. I use Knott's Berry Farm Syrup -- It is made by ConAgra Foods.
  10. I don't know the actual amount we spend every month off the top of my head, but I do know we are saving money. My husband and I don't eat out that much. We mainly just get fries occasionally as a treat at In N Out. We are eating a lot better now I do know that. The first couple of months from what I remember did cost more b/c I was buying only items...
  11. The mix I used said to bake the crust for a certain amount of time then you take it out and add your sauce, cheese etc to it and then bake it for about 8 or so minutes till the cheese has melted. GOOD LUCK
  12. I have purchase Kinnikinnick frozen crusts. They are good but not like real pizza. I have tried making my own pizza using Chebe Pizza Crust Mix. It was really easy to make but I didn't realize when I bought it that it had seasonings in it (like Italian seasonings). It was a little too strong for my husband and I. I recently bought their All Purpose...
  13. Somethings I make for lunches are: Salad (Wishbone and Kraft dressing will list gluten ingredients if present) Delimex Beef Taquitos (in the corn tortillas) does contain Milk and Soybeans if you have problems with those. Progresso Soups are good with labeling -- lunch or dinner Dinty Moore Beef Stew is gluten free (I add a little cheese and pepper for...
  14. Some theme parks do not let you bring food into the park anymore. If you are somewhere where it is easy to get back out to your car I would just get a large ice chest and put a lot of blue ice in it or blue ice and regular ice. I would call the theme parks you are going to, to find out if you can bring in a small ice chest or one of those cooler bags...
  15. Here is a website that has a gluten free list..... Open Original Shared Link From what I understand though is that you should still double check b/c the list is not update "all" the time to where it is current everyday.
  16. fjnt -- Im 26. Growing up I always had stomach issues, NEVER heard of celiac/gluten intolerance till last year when my mom heard about it and mentioned it to me. Ever since I was little I couldn't handle a lot of foods. I went to the dr's a lot and one of my dr's said oh you must be lactose intolerant so I cut that out, years later my new primary dr...
  17. On the Frit-Lay's website they list: CRACKER JACK
  18. What type of things are you cooking? Maybe there is hidden gluten or something being overlooked in one of the items. Are there gluten eating family members in your house that are maybe eating your gluten free items and getting crumbs in the container/bags? I am going to stay away from asking if maybe you are glutening yourself from lotions, toothpaste...
  19. What brand BBQ Sauce do you have? I know Jack Daniells BBQ is NOT gluten free. A lot of the Kraft ones are safe. You have to be careful of vinegar -- you want it to say distilled vinegar. Some things that are smoke flavor are not safe but some are. I would call the 800 line on the bottle and ask them if that BBQ is gluten free. If you are...
  20. Tues: Breakfast - bananna, crispy brown rice cereal ( box says gluten free ), and silk low fat soy milk. **Some people have problems with soy in general and some people when starting a gluten free diet have problems with dairy and/or soy. dinner - rice express dish ( says on it gluten free, got at natural store ), bit of parmesean cheese and wheat free...
  21. I get Ground Cinnamon in the McCormick brand and haven't had any problems (only ingredient -- cinnamon). Some of the smaller containers do not have the ingredients on them but the bigger ones do, there website also has the ingredients for each item.
  22. When my stomach hurts really bad I try a heating pad, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If your stomach is "okay enough" a nice warm bath is good too or with Epson Salt (supposed to help relax your body). If I'm out and not feeling good I suck on a mint life saver, a sucker or Altoids (some are gluten free) -- I don't know if it is a mind...
  23. cruelshoes -- Thank you so much for posting this. Went grocery shopping tonight and started eye balling all of the cereal boxes trying to find the Rice Chex.....and "there it was" quickly grabbed it off the shelf with a big smile on my face seeing the GLUTEN FREE writing on the box. My husband who can eat gluten was all excited too -- got 2 boxes...
  24. I've had good luck with In N Out -- love their french fries YUMMMMMM
  25. I get Mission White Corn Tortillas (they also have white corn taco shells). On the back of both items they say gluten free.
