ARCHIVED Embarrassed @ Whole Foods
GlutenGalAZ replied to FoxersArtist's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm sorry I just have to laugh. I feel sorry that it happened (I don't know what I would have done -- probably panic attact) but very funny. I guess you can always be thankful you weren't glutened and doing other stuff in the bathroom while this was happening. My parents always say that -- One day you will get yours OR Your kid is going to be just like... -
ARCHIVED What About My "must Take" Medications With Gluten Filler?
GlutenGalAZ replied to utahlaura's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am at work so I don't have access to my medicine list (there is a website online but is not always current). I would call your pharmacy and get the 800 line to call the medicine company and inquire with them if the pill is gluten free. If you are reacting to the pill (if it contains gluten) then you will always react to it. Some pills there are other... -
ARCHIVED Modified Food Starch
GlutenGalAZ replied to my3kids's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Like Momma Goose mentioned if it has wheat in it they should note it. More companies have now chagned the wording to Modified Corn Starch, which is really nice. Some are still doing Modified Food Starch with nothing next to it or put (corn) or (wheat) next to it. With companies that I am familiar wtih I don't call but companies that I am not exactly... -
ARCHIVED Is There Anything You Can Do Once You
GlutenGalAZ replied to flutterby's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When I ate something that was CC or I got glutened I would use a heating pad on my stomach or take a bath in epson salt. Drink plenty of water, juice or some hot tea. If I am at work or out and not feeling well I suck on a mint i.e. the Peppermint Altoids. Eat foods like chicken, rice, vegetables, fruit (things that are gentle on the stomach). I sometimes... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free @ Walmart Super Center
GlutenGalAZ replied to SacGFGirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The WalMart by me carries DeBoles pasta -- it is Gluten Free (Rice Spaghetti). I use to buy this pasta when I first went gluten free but after trying some other pastas I don't buy it anymore. It is about (or was) $1.50 it does fall apart so its like eating spaghetti with little parts of pasta. As far as I know WalMart does not have a list of their gluten... -
ARCHIVED Neutrogena
GlutenGalAZ posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The facial cleanser (Clearasil Sensitive Skin) that I get I cannot find anymore in the stores by me so I was thinking about going with a Neutrogena product (want something local). From the list that I got from them it says Wheat Free (not Gluten Free). I called and spoke to one of the ladies at their company and she said that the product I was... -
When you go gluten free and your body heals you can react differently then you did in the past prior to being gluten free. From what I have read on here a lot of people say they react worse now then before and it can take days, weeks + to heal. Hope you feel better. Good Luck

I have never heard or seen that brand before. I looked it up on the internet and they have a website, so you can look at the About Us page and look into the brand a little that way too. The website is just their name (barryfarm) .com GOOD LUCK

ARCHIVED Cecelia's Gluten Free Shopping Guide Is Garbage!
GlutenGalAZ replied to souzahanson's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
There are soooo many things that state gluten free on them, that ALSO note made on equipment that processes wheat. This is a preference if someone wants to buy it. Some people are very sensitive and will not purchase items that say this on the label and some people will. I do with certain products but if I react then I stop buying it. I think it is great... -
ARCHIVED Cecelia's Gluten Free Shopping Guide Is Garbage!
GlutenGalAZ replied to souzahanson's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have this book and I have found it helpful once in a while when I needed to check and see what brands I could use (and look at the ingredients still when purchasing). I don't use the book for items that I buy all the time just for new items -- more as a reference book. Some items there are sooooo many brands out there and at least this way I can look... -
ARCHIVED Breakfast Sausages?
GlutenGalAZ replied to Donna F's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
www.johnsonville.com I have not tried Johnsonville yet but have looked at their website the other week. They label their products gluten free if they are and you can also check them out on their website before heading to the store. I have seen these at Smith's (same as Ralph's and Kroger) and also WalMart. GOOD LUCK -
ARCHIVED Pamela's Cookies
GlutenGalAZ replied to Rpm999's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The reason I stopped buying the chocolate chip pamela's cookies was b/c they had tapioca flour/starch in them. Before I knew that tapioca f/s was making me feel sick -- I was feeling sick from eating one cookie. So I don't know for sure if it was the tapioca only I was reacting to or that plus something else. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Tea
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you Patti for your reply I looked at their website and it looked like they had a store in OR and then online so I called and the lady was really nice said all their tea was gluten free (no gluten in the factory) said they have their teas in a lot of grocery stores but main supply online. So I am going to take a look -- didn't have time to go grocery... -
ARCHIVED Ultrasound?
GlutenGalAZ replied to nikky's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had this type done couple years ago due to really bad side pain. You have to drink a lot of water little while before you appointment and then pretty much what ShayFL said. It is a little uncomfortable you can always tell the lady that is working with you that you are nervous...goes by really quick though. They take pictures and see if you have cysts... -
I know if I eat too many peanuts I get constipated, haven't had it happen though with peanut butter. I have read some posts where people use almond butter I think it is and another one that is similar to peanut butter (I think they are pricey). Too much fiber can make you constipated though. Good Luck on figuring it out.

ARCHIVED Family Members With Celiac?
GlutenGalAZ replied to Jipps's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I am gluten intolerante (undiagnosed) figured after years (about 15yrs+) of the dr's not figuring out what the problem was and once I tried being gluten free it didn't matter anymore b/c I feel soooo much better now than when I was growing up etc. I believe my dad is gluten intol. as well as one of my three brothers. My Dad claims he is not, but has... -
I have not had Taco Bell since before being gluten free. On their website they have an allergens list as well and an ingredient list. Their season beef shows that it contains gluten. With how much gluten food items they have at Taco Bell I would not even take the chance of getting the 2 items that they show not having gluten just because of CC...

ARCHIVED Help Baking gluten-free Bread Mixes
GlutenGalAZ replied to susiequsie's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have only used The Gluten Free Pantry bread mixes. I have a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and have had no problems. Did yours come with different attachments? If so are you using the dough hook (or which ever one you have that is suitable?)? With the stand mixer it will not climb up the beater like a hand mixer (from what I have read about the hand mixer... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Tea
GlutenGalAZ posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I haven't had any tea since going gluten free last year. I would like to bring a cup to work in the am, after work or if I am not feeling well (ha pretty much anytime). Any suggestions on some good gluten free tea that is also caffeine free? Brands? Use to get Celestial Seasonings but would like to try something else. Would prefer something... -
ARCHIVED Thai Kitchen
GlutenGalAZ replied to Carriefaith's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
They also sell just the noodles for $2 something. They have the regular ones and then thin. I use the thin ones and add in EVOO with some seasoning and very little amount of cheese -- if it is just you using the noodles one box goes a long way (where you can cook small portions). They also sell a box I think called Pad Noodles, got a box at WalMart pretty...
