ARCHIVED Does Anyone Else Get Chest Pain From Eating Anything?
GlutenGalAZ replied to Lori T.'s topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi. I switched over to Metoprolol this past year from what I was taking. Meteoprolol is generic for Toprol-XL. On your medicine bottle there should be the manufacture name that you can look up online to get a phone number or ask your pharmacy for the number to call and verify that it doesn't have something in it that is bothering you possibly. I have... -
ARCHIVED Gas-x
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the replies. I looked at the gluten free drug list earlier today but all it says is Gas-X so I would consider all are safe, but I have read in different places that some are not. I tried to call the company the other week but the 800 line goes possibly out of the country so the connection is really bad and it sounded like the person was... -
I was looking at some posts and am a little confused on which of the Gas-X's are Gluten Free. I read more that the Soft Gels were so I got a box today. Gas-X Softgels Extra Stength -- Antigas - Simethicone 125mg Active Ingredient: Simethicone 125mg Inactive Ingredients: D&C yellow 10, FD&C blue 1, FD&C red 40, gelatin, glycerin,...

ARCHIVED Crystal Deodorant Stone
GlutenGalAZ replied to jzmom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've had one for almot a year now and really like it. I originally talked my husband into getting one b/c no matter what deodorant he got he would get a rash/discolorment under his arms. He has been using the crystal deodorant for a year now and his arm pits look normal and he likes the item -- sometime he says it does not work but majority of the time... -

Hi everyone! I finally got to make these last night and they turned out really good To be honest though I thought they were too strong last night (while still hot) but today I tried one again and they are even better then last night. I gave some to my In Laws (who can eat gluten) and my FIL REALLY liked them. So I am thinking of making these... -

GlutenGalAZ replied to Grace Maureen's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Ortho Tri-Cyclen is gluten free, I took this for years but recently my doctor changed me over to Lo Estrin 24 Fe which is also gluten free. My dr had me change over to Lo Estrin to figure out if I was bleeding/spotting between periods b/c I have been on Ortho for too many years or if I need to be tested for endometriosis. I have only been on it for almost... -
ARCHIVED Condensed Cream Of Mushroom Soup
GlutenGalAZ replied to Juliebove's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
For Greenbean Casserole one year my MIL didn't have any of the Fried Onions (before gluten free days for me).... so she just put some shredded cheese on top (what about dairy free cheese?). Some recipe books say to use Sour Cream and Onion chips. I haven't tired making Greenbean Casserole since going gluten free. Looked recently for the Progresso Creamy... -

ARCHIVED Carob Powder
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks for the replies Read a little more info last night and it sounds interesting. I think I will think about it a little more and get it when I am going to be making more stuff that calls for coco. Its almost $6 for the container so don't want it to sit around. Thanks again. -
In my local health food store they have Chatfield's Carob & Compliments -- Carob Powder. Has anyone used this? From what I read on the container it has NO Chocolate, Coco or Caffeine in it. From what it said on the container sounds like it can be used in place of Coco Powder. I saw Carob Chips (like chocolate chips) next to the powder. I think...

ARCHIVED Multi-purpose Flour?
GlutenGalAZ replied to katdw's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Keep your hands wet when handling the dough. It makes it easier to handle plus it helps you shape the dough into the bagel shape. You can also spray your hands with say Pam but I find the water is easier to do plus you can easily turn the water on while cooking with you arm then spray your hands more with Pam Your hands will still get a little doughy... -

ARCHIVED Sorry To Be Mia...
GlutenGalAZ replied to RissaRoo's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Sorry to hear about your cat. I do not own any cats -- but I have two dogs. When we lived in CA our vet said at one time we could give our little dog Pedialyte (near the baby formula) since he wasn't feeling well and didn't really want water (said not to do Gatorade). Last year our Lab got really sick we couldn't get him to eat any type of dog food... -

I get the Pacific Low Fat Chocolate Almond Beverage (yumm). They came out with individual drink boxes with straw couple months ago (nice size for breakfast or to bring somewhere). They also have Vanilla in the small size. 4 Pack 8oz each. -
montanamom -- From my own experience.... I have felt similar to this a couple of times this year and have found out I cannot tolerate MSG (Monosodium Glutamate -- not associated with gluten). It is hidden in many foods (in the ingredients). When I first figured out about the MSG I was eating a certain new food off and on for about a month till I put...

ARCHIVED Syptoms Noticed Right At The End Of A Meal?
GlutenGalAZ replied to dizzygrinch's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Growing up (before knowing about celiac/gluten intolerance) I would have to go to the restroom right after dinner... I would get realllllly bad stomach pains where I would be curled up on my bed in pain with constant bathroom runs for a couple of hours. After going gluten free I was still getting sick but only with certain foods. I found that I had another...
