ARCHIVED In A Food Rut
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
That sounds really good! I have seen how you bake the spaghetti squash and just use a fork to give it that noodle look. Does the squash fall apart when you mix it with other things i.e. meat? Do you mind posting how you bake the squash? Thanks -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Rice Paper
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you everyone for the great info on Rice Paper. I have been trying to figure out a brand to get b/c I haven't been able to make it to Whole Foods (1.5hrs away). I have seen this brand online a lot... seems to be the most popular one or at least the easiest one to find online. The only thing is I just read on a site that was selling... -

ARCHIVED Looking For Yummy gluten-free Crackers - Any Recs?
GlutenGalAZ replied to beanpot's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Open Original Shared Link Sam's club has this brand at a pretty good price. I am not a big crackers fan but like them with sandwiches. Glutino also has good crackers but they are a little pricey. GOOD LUCK -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Salad Dressings
GlutenGalAZ replied to jkr's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I recently started to get Litehouse dressing. Below is a link to their gluten free listening. Open Original Shared Link I use to get Wishbone but then cut out MSG. I get some of the Kraft dressings that are gluten free and no MSG. Here is a post I saved for some recipes but it also has some salad dressing recipes near the top: https://www.celiac... -
ARCHIVED Eating Out In Laughlin Nevada?
GlutenGalAZ replied to B R I A N A's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have been wondering the same thing. I live about 35-45 minutes from Laughlin so my husband and I go to Bullhead a lot for Sam's Club and Target. We go over to Laughlin to walk around or if my parents are visiting. I have been nervous about trying anywhere just because we weren't staying in a hotel and the drive back home is around 45 minutes. I... -

Thank you for the reply. I saw your post right before I left work. The Health Food Store I went to had Nutiva Oraganic Extra Virgin Cocnut Oil so I got that. I am trying out the smallest container they had first to make sure we like using it, plus not really sure how fast the container goes =) It says it can be used in place of butter.. So does...

I have been seeing Coconut Oil a lot in recipes lately and was wondering if there are certain things that I should look for when selecting one. I live in a smaller town (closest Whole Foods is about an hour in a half away). I am going to a small Health Food store after work that I get some of my flour at to look at the brands they have. Do I want...

I seem to be in a food rut right now. I make/cook my meals and am wanting to make new things that are easy but healthy. Main flours I have are White and Brown Rice Flour, Sorghum (sp), Corn and Potato Starch, Baking Soda and Powder and Flaxseed. I have Rice Bran but haven't used it yet. I can't have tomatoes and stay away from herbs since they...

ARCHIVED Betty Crocker Frosting To Be Labeled Gluten Free This Fall
GlutenGalAZ replied to nocommente's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This is really neat! Thanks for posting it I have been wanting to make a cake or cupcakes but just didn't want to deal with making my own frosting. This is really nice that Betty Crocker is taking the wheel on making gluten free products available in the "normal" type of food products. This will be neat for those of us who live in smaller towns... -
ARCHIVED My Parents Are Asking How To Prepare gluten-free Meals...
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you for the replies. After posting this I found out that my mom bought some gluten free cookbooks and the Elisabeth gluten-free Book to learn more, so that was neat to find out. My main concern is the pots/pans... because my husband and I don't normally eat over at other peoples houses I haven't come across that situation yet. The other... -
ARCHIVED My Parents Are Asking How To Prepare gluten-free Meals...
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for the replies. They are moving about 15 minutes away from us so it would be meals like Tacos, Different Meats (steak, hamburgers or chicken) Rice, Fries etc.... They do check everything with us in recipes and ask us how we make our meals so that is great. With Pans (not the black non stick ones) is it pretty much if there is no residue... -
ARCHIVED My Parents Are Asking How To Prepare gluten-free Meals...
GlutenGalAZ posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi. I feel silly asking this question due to the length of time I have been gluten free so far but I haven't really eaten at other peoples homes yet. My parents are in the process of moving to the same city my husband and I live and would like to have us over for lunch and dinners instead of always eating at our house. They were asking me about... -
ARCHIVED Sicker
GlutenGalAZ replied to ohsroac's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I remember when I first went Gluten Free I felt sick for about the first 2 months (achey, swore, sick feeling, tired...). Have you been checked for any vitamin deficiencies? Before I went gluten free all my life I got sick/colds very easily. After being gluten free and taking vitamins I haven't been sick. Well I shouldn't say haven't... I have gotten... -

ARCHIVED Do You Put Pasta Water In Your Sauce?
GlutenGalAZ replied to Juliebove's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I use to have a similar problem with my noodles sticking. In the past I would just let the water get really hot (seemed like it took forever to boil so just went with hot) and I would end up with spaghetti noodles sticking to each other not understanding why. I had a surgery back in January and my husband (gluten eater) made me some of my meals for... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Rice Paper
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you for the info =) I looked at the link you put in and I have seen that brand on a.ma.z.o.n. I was thinking of either ordering somehwere online OR.... Whole Foods should probably sell it? There is one about an hour in a half from us that we might be going to sometime in the next month or thinking about asking my mom to look at the one by them... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Rice Paper
GlutenGalAZ posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I live in a small town and have been looking for Rice Paper to make wraps with. I thought it would be a nice way to change the normal meats with veggies and rice. I was thinking about ordering with a.m.a.z.o.n since I cannot find any local. Or is there a better site to order from? What brands are safe (gluten free)? Any pointers on using Rice Paper... -

ARCHIVED Rice Dream Rice Milk
GlutenGalAZ replied to BeckyW's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Kentucky Grilled Chicken
GlutenGalAZ replied to mamabear's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
It always amazes me "what" food items contain gluten/wheat. WHY grilled chicken not like its fried chicken errrrr Even the rotisserie chickens in stores having wheat. Well maybe one day food places and companies will realize there are a lot of people out there who cannot have wheat/gluten and will sub it out for something safe so they can sell to a... -
ARCHIVED Baked Kettle Chips...bbq Flavor
GlutenGalAZ replied to NorthernElf's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I tried the Kettle Brand last year and did not feel well but was also drinking Orange Juice around the same time (have a problem with Orange Juice) so I wasn't sure if I was really reacting to the chip or just the OJ. I purchased the Lightly Salted Bag couple nights ago. If I eat a couple chips I feel okay but if I eat more then a couple I start to feel...
