ARCHIVED Stonyfield Farm Organic - Oikos Greek Yogurt
GlutenGalAZ posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I usually get Stonyfield Farms Vanilla yogurt but thought while at the store tonight I would try the individual servering (4 pack) of the Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt in Vanilla.... I looked at the ingredients they all looked safe and I have gotten their normal yogurt before with no problems but now I am second guessing this item b/c it doesn't have their... -
ARCHIVED gluten-free Hot Sauce?
GlutenGalAZ replied to LisaaaNoel's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Kroger is really helpfull. I have called in the past and the person wasn't available at the time so I left a message and they called back later. Our household isn't a big hot sauce fan but we use La Victoria taco sauce (they list gluten free on their bottles) Good luck -
ARCHIVED Sam's Club
GlutenGalAZ replied to daphniela's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Some Sam's Clubs offer a one day free pass (usually have to pay in cash)... you could call the closest Sam's and ask if they do this. We have one about 40 minutes away from us so my husband and I make a day trip of it going shopping/walking around then we hit Sam's on the way home (we have their freezer/cooler bags). We get Fruit, Veggies, Salad... -
ARCHIVED No-gluten / No-dairy Shopping Guide?
GlutenGalAZ replied to Becci's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
There are at least two other main guides, I don't know both of them off hand (haven't used them) but one is Triumph. I know someone commented about them recent so you might be able to do a search on here. Good Luck. Hope you can find something that works for you =) -
ARCHIVED No-gluten / No-dairy Shopping Guide?
GlutenGalAZ replied to Becci's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The book is about 6.5"x4.5"x1" It doesn't give ingredients. In the book you can look up say Salad Dressing it will then list different companies and under each company it will list their gluten free items. It will not have ALL companies that are out there but a decent amount. -

Open Original Shared Link When I first went gluten free I got the gluten free one (they didn't have the others at the time). It helped me. I still looked at the ingredients but the book helped me find brands and in a way you could say backed me up when I thought it was gluten free. I still look at it off and on when I am getting/looking for something... -
ARCHIVED Garbanzo & Fava Flour
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you very much for both of your replies. I thought it was the flour but wasn't sure if it was one of the new things I ate as well so I cut the other stuff out and am re-trying the graham crackers I made (had half of the dough in the freezer). I thought I started to react to it but wasn't sure will see. At least it isn't a complete waste if I am b... -

I never had vomiting as one of my symptoms so not really sure if this will help (sorry): Before I went gluten free and didn't know why I always got sick after eating.... I would suck on one of those wintergreen life savers or a peppermint altoid (the big one not the small ones -- small ones have gluten in them)..... Something with the mint help ease... -

ARCHIVED Wal-mart Brand's "gluten Free" Labeling
GlutenGalAZ replied to no-more-muffins's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I get the Great Value items off and on. I haven't had a problem yet wtih them (knock on wood) =) I have noticed that some items where the ingredients look fine (where you would think it is gluten free), they have a note that it is processed in a facility that also does wheat and _____ so they do not lable these gluten free. When I get one of their... -
ARCHIVED Finding The Right Bread...
GlutenGalAZ replied to Kimmy913's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I haven't tried/looked for store bread since the beginning of being Gluten Free. I haven't found a store bread that I cared for. I like Gluten Free Pantry Bread Mixes, they are good. The Sandwich bread mix is good for everyday stuff. They also have a French bread mix that you can do bread or pizza crust with. Lately I've stopped with the bread... -

WOW... really good and informative info! Thank you!!! I didn't know about washing rice before cooking I could see after but before makes sense too when you explained why. With washing the rice before and after does it take away that starch texture/taste? Thank you very much for posting and I am going to print off the info you typed out and keep... -
ARCHIVED Yellow Corn Vs White Corn

Anyone??? Thanks -
Just wondering if anyone else has a problem with one but not the other? I can have White Corn but feel sick from Yellow Corn. Ex Popcorn: Do fine with White kernels but not normal yellow (more popular) popcorn kernels. Taco Shells and Tortiallas: Better with White then Yellow Normal Corn: Stomach hurts from Yellow Corn but not White ...

ARCHIVED How Long Should You Try The Gluten Free Diet?
GlutenGalAZ replied to HelpinOhio's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I agree with the other posts. I would give it at least 3 months or a little longer if you start to notice changes after eliminating other things. The first couple of weeks are the worst. I felt sicker in the beginning (your body goes through withdrawls)..... You may have other things you are sensititve to or have problems with i.e. dairy, salads... -
ARCHIVED Some More Freezing Questions
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Patti Thank you for the recipe =) It sounds really good and simple to make. I printed it off to try soon. Thank you for replying about the steamer. That is neat so it takes about half of the time then the stove, cool. I have been wanting to make and freeze a small batch of enchiladas so that sounds like a good idea keeping the sauce and cheese... -
ARCHIVED Garbanzo & Fava Flour
GlutenGalAZ posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I bought Bob's Red Mill Garbanzo & Fava Flour to make grain free honey grahams and something else that called for it. I made the grahams last weekend and they turned out really good. But I had stomach problems during the week not like a glutening but just upset stomach. Has anyone else reacted to this flour? The only other thing new I had this... -

Pecans (Brand suggestions??) ------------------------------------------------ If you have problems with foods that are processed in a facility that also processes wheat then you might want to check the bag of pecans you are getting. I know at our local grocery stores there are two brands Diamond and Fisher. Diamond says on the back that it is processed... -
ARCHIVED Betty Crocker gluten-free Mixes

I have found the Cookie and Brownie mix so far (Smith's grocery store) each $4.49. The Brownies are really good but really sweet. The cookies were excellent as well. My mom lives in Southern CA and just saw all of them at their local Stater Brothers grocery store, I think she said they were $4.99. I just got an e-mail from a.m.a.z.o.n. and... -
ARCHIVED Food Labelling And Protein
GlutenGalAZ replied to dream77's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi. My husband and I do majority of our grocery shopping at WalMart (we do some shopping at Smith's). Some things I get in normal brands and other things we get the WalMart Great Value brand which is nice b/c they label Gluten Free (some items may be gluten free but they won't mark it b/c it is processed in a facility that does wheat etc -- I still avoid... -
ARCHIVED Stand Mixers Vs Hand Mixers
GlutenGalAZ replied to FranDaMan's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have the KitchenAid Stand Mixer from Sam's club (got it last year). I love it. Very easy to use and quick clean up. They make a cover (pick your color) to put over the mixer. But I like the look of it on the counter so I just have a nice hand towel folder going over the bowl to keep that covered. Majority of the time I use the KichenAid Mixer...
