  1. Thank you everyone for the replies and great suggestions. The Italian one sounds neat but my husband isn't really into that type of seasoning. Maybe I will try it sometime on my own (I like that type of flavor). I was nervous about Cumin b/c I have never used or tried it before. I have a closed one at my house that I bought a while ago for a recipe...
  2. I haven't done this before but would like to in the future. The below link I saved a while ago from a different post. It has a lot of good info. GOOD LUCK =) Open Original Shared Link
  3. I need a substitute for Chili Powder. Nightshade Free Please. Trying to make a Taco Seasoning. Someone had mentioned Cumin, Salt and Pepper. I am not familiar with Cumin. Is it a type of spice that is strong and you want to watch out for how much you use? We mainly just use Chili Powder and Tomato Sauce BUT wtih going Nightshade Free we are trying...
  4. My husband and I are wanting to make tacos tonight.... Does anyone know how much Cumin is appropriate with its flavor (we are use to chili powder) for about a pound of ground turkey? I was thinking of doing the mix mentioned above Cumin, Salt and Pepper but I have never used Cumin before (I bought some for a different recipe but haven't made it yet). ...
  5. Yumm. Finally got to try the Classico Pesto this week. Turned out good. A little goes a long way =) I slowly put it in and stired it haha (happy I didn't do globs). It tastes really good cold too I had spiral noodles with chicken and pesto then kept a little of the noodles to the side with pesto on it and tried it when it was cold and it was still good...
  6. Oh my gosh! I had the same thing happen when I tried to make my own cheese sauce for mac and cheese. The first time it happened I didn't know it was the potato starch I thought something was the matter with the food b/c I had never seen that before so I tossed it then the 2nd time (couple weeks later) I saw it happen and understood what the globs were ...
  7. I honestly do not see what the problem is with their reply. I think that Whole Foods is awsome with how MUCH they sell there that is gluten free. It is neat that they make some of their products there and one day "maybe" (I am just saying) they will make a separate kitchen BUT just like any other gluten free item some of them say processed in facilites...
  8. Thank you very much! I saved it to look at later after dinner...
  9. Hi. I know I have a problem with tomatoes. Potatos make me really bloated and sometimes not feeling well. I already cannot use Tapioca Flour and Arrowroot so my only two starches left are Corn and Potato Starch. Do you think it is bad if I keep using both of these? Main concern is the Potato Starch. My husband and I are trying to be...
  10. Sounds good! The noodles with the beans sounds different hmmmm do you add olive oil or anything for a sauce base? Thanks I bought a small jar of Pesto Sauce last night -- Classico. Looking forward to trying it this weekend. Any other food suggestions or anything please keep them coming =) Does anyone know if there are any seasonings other then...
  11. Im gluten free where my husband is not..... We have a shared counter that I do my cooking on (and clean each time) then we each have our own counter where if he wants bread he makes his sandwiches or flour tortillas on "his" counter and cleans up after himself. We have a spray butter which is mainly used on naturally gluten free foods but in the beginning...
  12. Thanks.... I think I will stick to just separating the vitamins some in the am and some after work.
  13. Oh great!! I am happy that I can still have pepper... don't care too much for salt but I like adding pepper to things Thanks for the post about the Pesto... I will take a look at the store next time we go grocery shopping (it would be by the spaghetti sauce right?) Thanks again!
  14. Has anyone figured out a good combo to make this? I bought a small can of carrots and beets. I know it will be trial and error but from others experiences do you use the same amount of beets/carrots or more of one then the other. Do you think you can freeze this sauce to use leftovers later or refrigerator 2-3 days? Instead of ascorbic acid can you...
  15. Thank you everyone for the replies. I split my vitamins from all at one time to couple in the am and the other 2-3 afer work. Thinking about cutting my multi in half and doing half in the am and half after work..... Thanks again

  17. Hi. I've known for a while now that I have a problem with Tomatoes and Potatoes. Been reading up and am eliminating them and trying to eliminate nightshades in general. For those that are Nightshade Free how do you make: 1.) Taco Meat??? My husband and I would brown meat, drain and add tomato sauce and chili powder. NOW.... though can...
  18. Never thought about cutting some of my vitamins in half, but that does make sense when you mention it. I had thought about taking separate my Multi Vitamin and the Super B Complex pill one in the am and one after work type of thing and then split my other pills with those two. Thanks for the pointers.... please keep them coming. I think this is a...

  22. When I first started using corn tortialls (instead of bread) I was just using them straight out of the package and they would break and not really taste that good. Then I started to heat them up in the microwave (found better to put in a papertowel). Then my dad showed me how he heats his up on the stove so started to do that and OH MY GOSH they tasted...
  23. Hi. Just wondering what your thoughts were on when is the best time to take vitamins. I use to take mine in the morning with breakfast but forgot one day and started them at night before I go to bed recently. I heard in the past that at night is the best b/c they stay in your system longer or something like that. Do you think it matters when...

  25. Hi.. I have seen people commenting on using Stevia lately and thought it would be a nice substitute for sugar. Has anyone tried Sun Crystals? It says that it a blend of naturally sweet stevia and pure can sugar. Is it a safe alternative to sugar? (I know I react to Crystal Light and I think it is the Aspartame-- Phenylalanine in it. I believe...
