ARCHIVED Gluten-free B-12 Supplement?
GlutenGalAZ replied to Light's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I use Spring Valley (can get at WalMart) or Nature Made (can get at a lot of stores). Both of these brands give you the ingredients and will say no gluten, no.... on the bottle if they are gluten free. What brand are your currently using? For some reason I want to say (but don't quote me on this) that somewhere I saw a while ago that Sorbitol could... -
ARCHIVED Corn Flakes
GlutenGalAZ replied to Nicole H.'s topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
What you are going through is completely normal. Reading what is okay and not does take some learning and you will eventually get the hang of it. You will find on the food products a 800 Customer Service line..The people at the companies are normally helpfull when you call to check on an item you are iffy about but be carefull some of them do not know... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free/casein Free Books?
GlutenGalAZ replied to susiequsie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would stay away from the Rice Dream Milk. There are a lot of recent posts on here about that product and how it does contain gluten in it (it is below the amount to post it on the label from what I understand). There is Almond Milk (Pacific Natural Foods is good), some people like Hemp Milk (I haven't tried it yet) and if you don't have a problem with... -
ARCHIVED Corn Flakes
GlutenGalAZ replied to Nicole H.'s topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I would stay away from the Corn Flakes. Since Malt Flavoring is in it, it is a no item. Below is what Kellogg's has on their website: Question: Do you have any gluten-free products? Answer: At this time, we do not offer products suitable for consumers on a gluten-free diet except as follows: Kellogg's -

ARCHIVED Kc Masterpiece Bbq Sauce - I Think It's Safe
GlutenGalAZ replied to ChristyE's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I would call the 800 line on the bottle and ask one of the reps. If I am remembering right when I called about three BBQ Sauces last year KC was one of them and they said something about it (sorry can't remember) where it was not safe to have. I ended up giving it to my in laws. Our household uses Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce. GOOD LUCK edit... -
I did a similar post the other month but wanted to update some info and see if anyone had any input on this. My husband and I have been married for 6years and were waiting to have kids till our late 20's (which is pretty much now). I had my laparoscopy done last Tuesday to check out if I had endometriosis or any other problem if it wasn't that. I go...

ARCHIVED New To Celiac And Having Heart Palps
GlutenGalAZ replied to codyb87's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Do you take any cold medicine before you go to bed? Some medicines like Sudafed for example will make your heart rate increase (decongestants -- if you have any type of heart problems). I know during the busy season at work I sometimes eat gluten free frozen things a lot that I buy at the store or things that may have grease in them...If I eat this way... -

ARCHIVED Sick And Very Hungry
GlutenGalAZ replied to kakattack's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know you said you are stayig away from sugar for the day but what about: Banana's or applesauce (No Sugar Added kind Mott's has some). Rice or chicken. I would suggest posting the ingredients (if you feel up to it) on the drink mix you have, maybe someone would be able to tell you yes/no on it. I hope you start to feel better soon and can figure... -

GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Thank you everyone for all of the great ideas. I was nervous about bringing homemade bread/pancakes/muffins but after reading your posts it sounds like that is duable. ARCHIVED First Trip In A Long Time
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Thank you for the reply and the great ideas. I really don't like store bread plus they all seem to have tapioca flour in them, so I guess I am worried/not sure how long my bread or rolls (I would make day or two before we would leave) would last in the ice chest. So things like that (how long in the ice chest) worried me. I am use to freezing or refrigerating... -
I am so nervous.. I have been on the gluten free diet for almost a year now but haven't been away from the house more then just day trips. How do you: 1.) Travel with Gluten Free Food (that you make i.e. bread, pancakes, muffins etc )?? 2.) What is the best way to pack it while in the car? The travel time to CA takes approx 4.5-5hrs. ...

I use Nature Made. WalMart, Target and grocery stores all carry it.... I get it at WalMart and also use Spring Valley b/c the B12 is only in that brand at our local WalMart. They will say Gluten Free on them if they are. Haven't had a problem yet with either brand. Safeway (which is also Vons and Pavillion) carry Nature Made they have it on sale a... -

glutenada -- This sounds REALLY good. Im gonna print it off and try it hopfully next weekend. Thanks for posting it -
I went partial gluten free in '07 when we first moved and I learned about gluten intolerance. It was very hard with the move to be on it full so I did it partial with some major slip ups (real pizza). I bought some kid cookbooks (b/c they are easier to start out with) and have been making gluten free pancakes, muffins, cinnamon rolls etc for breakfast...

ARCHIVED Crumbly Muffins
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks for the great information I am still learning right now, so I have pretty much been sticking with what recipes say at the moment till I feel/understand to go outside of the box (recipe)... I am always so amazed when different people on here make up their own recipes and change things etc. I made the muffins this weekend and added 1 tsp of... -
ARCHIVED Tomatoes -- Can't Have
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have a problem with yellow corn but seem to be okay with white corn.I have a problem with green foods (usually darker ones) use to be able to have them growing up (or didn't notice a problem) but the last maybe 2 years my heart rate will increase. I had some avocado on a sandwich today (didn't think it would do anything plus haven't had it since before... -
ARCHIVED Tomatoes -- Can't Have
GlutenGalAZ replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
The ricotta sounds interesting...thanks. I will have to find a recipe for pesto to give that one a try. If I were to make homemade pesto sauce, is it a sauce that you can make extra and freeze? Thank you =) I saved the website you posted... Thanks I have tried fresh tomatoes but the thing is it was on pizza with the Classico sauce or some type of pizza... -

Never thought about Alfredo Sauce for lasagna or pizza... that is neat. Do you mind me asking what brand you get or do you make your own? I am okay with Dairy just can't have large amounts of it. I saved the link you posted so I can look at it later... Clicked on it really quick looks very helpful =) Thanks! -
