ARCHIVED Another Endoscopy....intense Nausea And Vomiting
gfcookie replied to gfcookie's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I've already tried that idea, and, it has nothing to do with food and is not any other intolerance. And, every pill i take is gluten free. i see on this forum alot of people talking about other autoimmune issues, and was wondering if anyone knew of anything that has a symptom of nausea and vomitting when it is seemingly un-food related. Again, really appreciate... -
ARCHIVED Another Endoscopy....intense Nausea And Vomiting
gfcookie replied to gfcookie's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
thanks for the response. i only eat whole foods that really have no way of containing gluten. my cats eat gluten free cat food. my bloodwork always comes back fine when the celiac panel is run. it has nothing to do with gluten. I've been totally gluten-free for three years, even had endoscopys come up clean since then. Its not a food intolerance, it has no... -
ARCHIVED Depressing Teeth Decay Problem
gfcookie replied to Alternative mama's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
no, people have eaten starches since the begining of time and somehow still had teeth, it is the osteoporosis that comes with celiac that causes cavities. and, never flossing and only brushing once a day is sort of gross and not something i'd go around bragging about. I hope you teach your children better dental hygeine. -
ARCHIVED Chicken
gfcookie replied to dbmamaz's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
almost all chicken is safe, and those that aren't will say wheat under ingredients of injected chicken broth. the only chicken i've ever found to not be safe is that preseasoned stuff. -
ARCHIVED Depressing Teeth Decay Problem
gfcookie replied to Alternative mama's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I probably put my dentists children trhough college. I had root canals as a small child, a kabillion cavities (was always told to stop eating candy), and now most of my adult teeth are filled in/ capped/ sealed. I feel your pain. But, teeth are VERY very very important, so just bite the bullet and get them taken care of. -

ARCHIVED Gluten Has Now Affected My Marriage
gfcookie replied to MrMark's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
gluten shouldn't be meddling in your marriage, it's only food. pick a side, either tell her she's not responsible for your food, or ask her to learn more, your sort of in the middle. and, guess what, 99 percent of us spend most of life nto getting to eat what everyone else does, you should explain that to your wife. -

ARCHIVED Another Endoscopy....intense Nausea And Vomiting
gfcookie posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi all. So, I have a few other health issues on top of celiac, crohns being the other major one. I'm about to have my fourth endoscopy, i've had extreme nausea and vomitting for three years. Readers digest version, first i was diagnosed with celiac, the nausea was blamed on that. Then, UC, the nausea was then blamed on that, then had gallbladder attacks,... -
do you take any daily meds like steroids? I'm on steroids, and since i've started them, my eyes went completely wacky and i need glasses. Good luck and try not to stress too much!

it can't. if you really want to use it, use it on your legs, and then wash your hands and don't touch your legs. if you were goign to use it anywhere else, even though theres probably a very small amount of gluten in it, it will get on your hands, you will eat with your hands, and theres a chance you could get some in your mouth. its a personal choice, if...

ARCHIVED She's Still Saying I Need A Colonoscopy!
gfcookie replied to TrillumHunter's topic in Doctors
doesn't sound like she's clueless to me. if you are having celiac like problems, any good doctor will do both an endo and colonoscopy bc celiac has symptoms in common with other IBD. I think the problem is, sometimes doctors tell us what we don't like to hear, even if it is the truth. -
ARCHIVED Hitting A Wall
gfcookie replied to cmsquyres's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
sounds like fibromyalgia/depression. or, maybe something else is up besides celiac, alot of other autoimmune diseases can cause skin problems. -
ARCHIVED Newbie With Some Questions
gfcookie replied to IMWalt's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
the interesting thing about a gluten-free diet is that it is a LOT healthier than a diet w/ gluten in it, so many people without celiac also benefit from the diet. Too many parents on here assume their children have celiac if they do bc they feel better on a gluten-free diet. You shouldn't avoid gluten your whole life if you don't really have to. It may just... -
ARCHIVED Freezer Recipes?
gfcookie replied to Mandy F.'s topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
get a bunch of gladware, make homemade gluten-free soup, potatoe/broccoli/chicken. make lasagna, make a pot roast and gravy and put a piece and some gravy in each container. make a ton of gluten-free chicken fingers at once and throw them in the freezer. if you want recipies for anything, just ask. -
ARCHIVED Stomach Hurts When Empty
gfcookie replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
one word, gallbladder. go to your doctor asap. Does it hurt after you eat? Upper right quadrant, right under your rib cage? thats your gallbladder, the pain in your back after you eat? That's your gallbladder. Pain usually means something is wrong. Especially if the symptoms get worse after you eat something fattening, or something greasy or cooked in oil... -
So, did you ever get a diagnosis of celiac disease? or just figure it out for yourself? If you just sort of concluded it on your own, you should go to a doctor, because, it might not even be celiac. Many people who self diagnose benefit from a gluten-free diet but don't even have celiac. My mom eats gluten-free with me every summer when she visits, and she...

ARCHIVED Anyone Else Get Super Dizzy When Working Out?
gfcookie replied to Sweetfudge's topic in Sports and Fitness
this is one of those not related to celiac things. My guess is you're out of shape, and over exerting yourself, try getting into it at a slower pace. also, try an eliptical, you can hold on to those!!! If this is just happening in the gym, it's probalby that you need to take it a bit slower! -
we are getting to a time where on one hand, it is great that people are aware of gluten, but on the other hand, MANY companies will no longer confirm if anything is gluten-free, because they are fearful of lawsuits. You have to sort of make your own decisions when it comes ot thinks like that and use common sense. Also, if i were you, i wouldn't be too depressed...
